Using PowerPoint Presenter View in a Teams meeting in Windows with 2 screens (similar in Zoom)

- In this video I show you how to use Presenter View with 2 screens in Windows to see your speaking notes on your screen but show your slides to the audience in a Teams meeting (this works similarly in Zoom). In the video I create a second screen by connecting an old monitor via a VGA cable. There are many ways to create a second screen, including wireless methods. If you are using a different method, this video is still helpful because all the steps after you get the second screen connected still apply.

This was the cleanest and shortest video for using two screens and ppt presenter view. Thank you.
Glad you liked it!
thanks for this. very clear and straight to the point
I'm glad you found the video helpful.
Great video. Exactly what we needed. Instructions are clear , precise, and direct to the subject without too much discussion.
As my dad used to say: Dear sir, you are a scholar and a gentleman.
Now subscribed to your channel. Keep up the good work.
Happy holidays to all!
Thank you! Glad the video was helpful.
excellent video. Right to the point and simple way to explain it. thank you
Glad the video was helpful!
Now this is what I wanted! Thank you!!
I'm glad you found the video helpful
Really helpful, thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
thanks a bunch, man ! this was helpful !
Glad it helped!
All very clear. But what if I also want to see my audience on my main screen? The reason why I'd want that is to keep the audience's engagement in check.
Switch the Presenter View window from full screen to windowed mode. Resize it so you can see the meeting controls or videos on that screen as well. I do this all the time and it works well.
Is this method more hardware intensive? Will it cause Microsoft teams app to crash?
This method does not cause more load on the hardware. I have not seen any impact on how well Teams runs using this method.
Thanks. However, I cannot see the participants anymore. Any ideas how I can see them as well see my participants in the presenter view?
You can change the Presenter View window to not take up the whole screen. Then you can resize it so you can see the meeting platform controls again. In Teams, you have to click on the small video when sharing content to see the full controls and the meeting participants.
Is it possible to share 2 screens simultaneously in a Teams meeting?
Teams only allows one screen or window to be shared at a time. If you want to share multiple windows for different apps on one screen that is possible by sharing the entire screen.
will I be able to see all of my class when i start sharing my screen
If you want to see the videos of the meeting participants you will need a third screen. I have a video on doing this in Zoom at ua-cam.com/video/QQIDp2VkIEY/v-deo.html and the steps would be similar in Teams.
If a presenter is on camera say doing a cooking demo, the group can see them on full screen but they can only see themselves in a little screen at the corner. Is there a way that the presenter can see themselves on full screen?
Often I will have a second laptop connected to the Teams call as a participant. Then I can glance over to it occasionally to check that everything is still looking correct for the participants. Teams doesn't have a way to do it on the computer you are using to present.
I'm not familiar with Teams; I'm only using Zoom. I'm confused when your narration switches between Teams and Zoom. Does Teams basically work the same way as Zoom?
Teams and Zoom are similar in many ways but different in others. If you use Zoom, you will find information specifically for using Presenter View on that meeting platform in my guide at www.thinkoutsidetheslide.com/the-complete-guide-to-using-powerpoint-presenter-view-in-zoom-1-or-2-screens-windows-or-mac/. Hope that helps.
@@ThinkOutsideTheSlide Thanks, that's very helpful!
This video does not let you see the teams meeting & the power point controls at the same time. How am I supposed to know when someone raise their hands when I have to alt tab back and forth? Worse, you are limited in how small you can make the teams window so I cant just put it in one corner of the display.
You can make the Presenter View window less than full screen and then you can see the Teams window as well. I left the Presenter View window full screen in this video so people could see it larger. In this article you can see how I set up the Presenter View window and Teams window: www.thinkoutsidetheslide.com/how-to-see-the-participants-in-a-teams-meeting-when-you-are-sharing-your-screen-or-content/
