I still cannot believe how bad that Mustang was when you got it into your shop! Great work and thank you for showing us what you had to do to it! Put some new brushes in that Warrior grinder and it should be as good as new!
If anyone wants to see the sister hack job to this car take a look at uncle Tony’s garage UTG. Omg these flippers will kill somebody if it stays this way. On the bright side guys like you will never run short of work 😎
@@HotRodGuyGarage yes it had a beautiful paint job. But that motor mounted like that and the front end so not good. Such a shame the world has gone like this. Don’t matter what it is or how it it’s done so long as they making $$$ glad there’s still a few good guys like yourself doing it right 😎
Occasionally you can snag them grinders on sale for $9.99! Years back I got sick of changing discs and bought a bunch. I mainly use wire wheels for rust / paint removal and stepped up to a 13 amp Hercules. Even when your shirt gets wrapped up in the wire it’s got plenty of torque to get to your skin. Ask me how I know x3 🤣
I’m really enjoying watching you bring this butchered Mustang back to life . I too would love to see the owner’s reaction to seeing it back together, properly .
It's gonna be a sweet ride when you finally get it finished. Holy crap, what a nightmare for the owner. Over on UTG channel, Kiwi Customs is dealing with a same year Mustang that might just be worse then this one.
You ll straighten this car out and make it decent. I do hope all these auctions and consignment places should have mandatory inspection for cars for safety. There are alot of flippers and hackers on classic cars
Another good video showing the struggles of using replacement panels. You are doing nice work on making this car safe and secure. It won't hit a bump or pothole and fall apart now. Til next time, have a great day.
I just bought a set of those clecos. Always used self tapping screws before. Gonna give those a try and see if I like em. Self tapper work just fine, but they were on Amazon kinda cheap so I thought what the hell.
i am so glad i got a solid 65 mustang been in the family since 1974 just past on from one family member to another. its bones are solid. it been stored indoors all of the the when not driven. all origanal sheet metal. but i like what you are showing
You're doing a great job on bringing this mustang back. Looks like it'll be more solid than when it was new! It's a long arduous task, but well worth it in the long run, and the car will be worth much more to the next buyer (when that day comes).
Seam welding is considered obligatory on rally cars for strength, so it's best on a road car too, unless you really want to replicate the factory look. But then you'll need some iffy spot welds and wandering panel gaps as well!
It is always the tiniest parts that create the biggest headaches it seems with all of the angles and such fitting or having to be worked so it will fit properly. As for HF grinders...so noted...it paid for itself though...hopefully its replacement will be at least as good as the predecessor . I'm assuming you also test fit the tank and filler neck...Hopefully that all lined up okay.
What is the sheet metal piece called that goes after the back window to the inside of the trunk called? It has a inch small gutter indention that runs left to right for the length of the trunk
I'd be really interested in what work like this costs. If you don't want to say money, how many hours? You've really worked magic with this car that started as an unsafe turd and made into better than new structure wise. I'm sure there's a $$ per hour you charge but how much more per hour for the magic? :D
If the owner wouldnt mind,,,it would be GREAT to see his reaction when he takes possession of the ol girl again!
I agree
Great video. I like how you explain and show all the details and don't play crappy music while showing your work.
I try
The mustang is really coming around. Great work !
Thanks

There's still more bad work hiding as far as cosmetics but the structure is back safe

The last one they had at least had a shiny paint job lol pretty sad there is so many out there just botched all to heck

You are an amazing person for fixing that man’s Mustang. Positive vibes to you.😎
Thanks again

I wish it would had let go while they had there 10% off this past weekend 😆
I am really enjoying the progress you’re making on this car. Thank you!
Glad you enjoy it!
I like it, good work, good explanation, no bullshit music or distractions, daisy is OK though.👍
I've tried to keep it all focused on the car as I can, thanks for watching.

You do it all. Welding, bodywork, & painting too?👍
Absolutely
Excellent Russ luv it cheers 🥂 😊
Thank you! Cheers!

Enjoy watching you work, thanks for the knowledge transfer
Thanks you for watching
I’ve enjoyed this journey actually. Nice job!!
Awesome, thank you!

Absolutely just about everything but and stuff is hot garbage as far as fit
Tip for doing seam sealing work. Smooth it out with a flux brush that's dipped in wax and grease remover, leaves an almost factory look.
I usually use a Cut off paintbrush
Ford factory look wasnt anything to brag about
Great work! Thanks to your knowledge and skill this Mustang will be good for decades to come.
Thanks

As an Airframe and Powerplant tech, clecoes are the heat
I hear there awesome 😎
Amazing transformation of this car!! Your work is top notch.
Thanks a lot!
Great job not every one can make chicken salad out of chicken s#!t but you did awsome job congratulations you belong in the re restorers club 👍😎
Thank you so much!!
65 mustang really looks good
It's coming along
Yet another expert job of metal working, a pleasure to watch, so much attention to detail. Oh and I like your workshop Cat.
Thank you very much!
Love the way you straightened out the panels and welded them solid nicely done ✅ great video as usual
Thanks
Cat Scan Daisy.... ! Wish I had the space and talent to do this work
She always has to pop in somewhere

You've got a good one then!

It will definitely be more structurally solid
Has become a very good repair project
Thanks, very helpful.
Glad it can help

True
Looking great 😊😊
Thanks

I usually Keep one at home and one at the shop, for 14 bucks there a trooper and smaller and easier to get in tight areas
Good job 👍 dude 😎
Thanks for watching
I wish I could weld like that. If Daisy saw my welds she'd take off and be gone.
She is pretty layed back
It's alive! Minus the bolts in the neck.
Getting closer

Rear deck filler panel
Good 👍
Thanks
Ship of Theseus.
I’ll never understand why the owner didn’t go with a Fast back kit? Those kits came with the essentials you needed
I suggested it several times but I'm building someone else's vision at this point
Where did you purchase your tail light panel ?
Everything has came from CJ's so far except the 1/4 panels that didn't fit and they were good mark
Just noticed the "GT 289" badge. How goof is that?
It's coming off soon

I will do a video towards the end on total time and costs
I can't imagine what this is going cost. A VERY POOR purchase.
A poor purchase and one dishonest seller
Great series. What a terrible body to start with.
Absolutely and thanks for watching
1ST in,,,,haha
if this owner didnt find you he would have died from a simple wreck.cruumpled like a tin can,,
That's been my thought, a 25mph rear end collision would had driven up to the dash
Why did you take the beard off? (I liked it in a non sexual way.)
Time for a change
