  • The 2022 Polestar 2 is a real Tesla alternative. It addresses many of the concerns that have been brought up about Teslas, while still maintaining a clean minimalist interior design but in a completely different design language. In short. I like the Polestar 2. Will all Tesla owners? Probably not. But what we're starting to see is a diversification within the EV marketplace that is beginning to show that there will be many different interpretations on what a good EV can be. This car does not have the front and rear light sequences when you lock and unlock the car if you were wondering why it didn’t do it- because this particular vehicle does not have the pilot pack. I can tell because it didn’t have the front fog lamps that are only included with the pilot pack which also has the 360 camera. You may have mixed the light sequences with another model in that showroom.

I forgot to add- the trunk release button is located below the rear bumper- above the number plate , it’s hidden but you just need to lift the button underneath

To open the trunk, move your foot under it , theres a sensor there that opens it(if you have key in pocket)

Yeah, that makes sense. I'd still like to have a physical button, but I guess I'm getting old! 🤣

@@PeterLoweOne it has a button. It's on the ledge just above the license plate.

It will be interesting how this compares to Ioniq 6. Great video!

That's a comparison that I'd love to do!

Real question is still the charging infrastructure. It’s nowhere good enough here in the UK, and there’s no chance of doing a ‘splash and dash’ like many of us do for a quick fill and driver change.
Wet fuel users add hundreds of pounds within minutes…
Also fuel prices are now significant, with wet fuel reducing, and electricity increasing (even if you can find a working charger)

Yeah, I've lived in areas with great charging networks, and now in a place with less good charging networks. Keep in mind for most people's driving, they're charging this car from home almost all the time, and I would be comfortable in this car with the charging network for travelling, but it would still take more planning than I'd prefer. The charge network and the dealers network are two areas that need a lot of work before mass EV adoption.

Over here “volt and bolt” is never successful

Just get a home charger. I'm in UK. Overnight charge using Economy 7 it costs me about 4 GPB to get a full charge.

@@susand9296 Agree if you don’t have regular long journeys - we have friends who home charge (Octopus is a good tariff) but holiday trips are fraught. My next will probably be PHEV for cheap and clean local travel, but worry free distance

Who cares about the “frunk”? Seriously, combustion engine cars don’t have them and simply because Tesla has them ALL EVs have to have them, or they are failing. This is simply stupid, and petty.

If you're designing an EV from the ground up, it makes sense to make room for a frunk. You say who cares, I say, why wouldn't they? It ok if it doesn't matter to you. It would matter to me, and that's why I mentioned it.
