It's pretty fun to rate along with him. I'm pretty on par with most of his ratings. My friends and I used to do this when we discovered KOF 99.
At our core, humanity loves to put frivolous scores and ratings to everything.
Zasalamel's super is so damn dramatic that even the background music stops in respect to his badassery.

They really went all out with the supers for this game. The snarky comments after you kill your opponent with said moves make it even better.
Just to make it a unique thing for the main hero and main villain I suppose. Though technically Azwel is only the villain of Libra of Soul and Kilik is the hero of the main story mode so.

Personally, I think they're too long. In SC5, I mained Raphael but it didn't change the fast pace of the game. The supers were really short but did what needed to be done. I also feel like certain characters looked better, such as Nightmare and especially Siegfried. That might be the voice since I hear him in SC6 and keep thinking of other characters the VA plays rather than the grizzly voice of 5.
In SC6, I main Geralt and the supers are way longer in terms of a fighting game (Mitsurugi excluded) than I care to like. So much so, that me and my friends found ourselves pausing to skip them unless they were the final hit.
I still prefer SC6 for gameplay because its so cool and varied, the soul attack and charge were a nice addition but 5 just hit me better. Despite having arguably the worst characters in the series

The funny part about that is, he is chuuni in canon as well. He invented names for all of his moves and shouts them out during combat so other people can appreciate it.
Yep and all of them in a one way or another honor the legends of King Arthur mostly the story Mal Chevalier Fet English translation "Badly Knighted Knight" which focuses primarily on Lancelot and his downfall in fact take a guess what the name of Groh's Critical Edge is? In fact the fighting style Groh, my CaS, and most of the minor and major Aval Organization members who appear as supporting characters use as well as the word Aval is derived from Avalon the island where King Arthur was taken after his supposed death.
Dramatic the only way to make it more chuuni was for him to rip his eye patch off during his super, for a 'power up'.
Alphazone His soul charge does that. Eye patch is gone & he gets glowing anime hair.

Taki's critical edge seems like a tribute to the opening for soul blade. So sick.
Side note, Yoshimitsu is actually a good guy.

yeah I’m pretty sure he was killed in one of the stories and he usually is yoshimitsu two but I think this a reboot so he the very first one, the best
@@Itsnoct in the lore yoshimitsu is a title for the leader of the manji clan. Essentially yoshi is more than 1 person and this fits with tekken lore.

Kinda let down that there wasn't an appropriate intro in this game. Soul Calibur is the king of intros. The core game is great though.

The camera work in all of them is so goddamn good. Game looks beautiful, and they're absolutely proud of it.
I really like it. The Supers continue into the win animation. Especially for Ivy. She kept stepping on Xianghua's head for the rest of win animation.
If nothing else, SC6 has the best sound design team. These supers sound amazing and have awesome timing.

But overall the supers in this game look really nice. Create a soul is making everyone happy. Soul Calibur is back everything is faster beloved characters have returned. And I'm happy that you're happy playing a game that makes you happy.
I am a bit upset that there is not much more in the way of variety in the way of weapons styles like there were in SC3.
Well, I'm hoping that with enough support, we'll have a full franchise recovery.

Azwel's super attack is the best one I have ever seen in all Soul Calibur. Good job, Maximilian.
Soulcalibur is one of those games where I love 90% of the roster. OMG this is the GEN of fighting games!!!!....... MK10, Injustice 1&2, DB Fighterz, Blazblue CF, Tekken 7, Soulcalibur 6, Smash Bros Ultimate, DoA 6 (to be seen), and of course Guilty Gear Revelator, the only bummers for me were SFV and MvC Infinite.
PS I forgot KoF 14 is also awesome.

I can see why so many hardcore fighting game fans were disappointed with MvC:I, but I actually really like that game. My disappointment is over the fact that so many people dislike it and the fact that Capcom let it die. But it's fun and super smooth and call me crazy but I don't think it looks bad either outside of some of the character models.
For me was the bad graphics, bad story, also because a played a dozen of hours on MvC2 for the Dreamcast, but above all because I'm a super hardcore fan of Wolverine, Gambit, Cable and Rogue.
This is a great time to be a fighting game fan

This is too hard to rate but I love that you did Astaroth's super on Maxi. But Kilik's unblockable super just looks amazing and the damage, holy shit. Siegfried's CE isn't bad too, the camera angles on his blade fascinate me. Let's not forget the animation on Nightmare's CE, amazing.

Honestly they're all fairly good. Even the more boring ones are effective and pretty.

Talim super: 6/10
Something doesn't add up
Tempest Gaming Kiliks first super is easily better than Talims. Talim and Siegfried are so unsatisfying.
@@firstnamelastname6699 Unsatisfying? Kilik's super is about 5 seconds long and all he does is poke you. No special effects, no creativity, no nothing.
@@tempestgaming1600 At least Kilik's has hard crisp hits. Compared to Talim's ending, she barely even touches you past the first hit, last hit you actually get breezed on, somehow her finisher hit looks like the weakest hit of her entire super.
Kilik is literally just doing a bunch of normals on you. It’s boring as hell. At least talim has a cool wind power she does on you and not literally a bunch of normals
Talim and Kilik should both get a 7 on theirs, Kilik's has great impact and it looks good, but Talim's looks waaay nicer honestly

Astaroth does a front flip with his big body and his big axe that something i thought i would never see
Astaroth's is underrated, IMO. He literally buries his axe in your chest and does that crazy ass flip slam WITH THE AXE STILL IN YOUR CHEST. Brutal as fuck. Solid 8.5/10.

True, but you have too admit 2nd stage devil kazuya, and story mode heihachi and shin akuma was the best super tho.
What i like about Talim is how fast she is, and her super is just too slow. I'd have given her some kind of fast flurry, all aerial if possible too.

Talim's is a 7 without the finisher. It looks better without the finisher to me.

Talim's seems better if it's woven into an actual combo, since the super hit is actually a combo as well.
Siegfriend may have a pretty basic super, but damn if the voice actor didn't go ham.
I don't care what anyone says, IN MY OPINION, Azwel's supers are the best.
He's basically Algol combined with Gilgamesh the King of Heroes from the Fate series.
And he is immune to reversal edge

Zasalamel's super is the best example of how to do a super move for a character. It made me want to play the game because of how badass it looked !!

It has been written, if Zasalamel is in the game then his super is a 10/10 because that man knows how to do things with style.
My favorite supers in this game are maxi's, talim's and taki's, but the one I found the most disappointing was misturugi's. It's literally his critical edge from soul calibur 5, just a bit more cinematic
Because Kilik is stated as the main character an if you know the lore you'll understand.
Yoshiro Nokubono this is the only soul calibur game I haven't played yet, and with my financial situation I won't be playing it for a while, but I am very familiar with soul calibur lore

i love how the team went the extra mile to make these Critical Edges so badass. shows the difference the lack of pressure makes for Project Soul.

I love this series. It's really neat seeing all of these supers that I both have and haven't seen through Max's eyes. My only gripe is that he does the whole "school" rating system where 50% is bad and 75% is about average, kinda ignoring the other half of the spectrum.
But it's fine too because I can basically just take his ratings and use math to figure out how he'd rate it out of 10 really :P
Good lord I wish we could turn off armour-breaks, I'd happily take the hit on fan-service to not have every 3rd round match devolve into fighting men in leather Y fronts. Everyone just looks better in full costume.

Even based on the Witcher game, Geralts is kind of disappointing. It's a clever use of Axii but man is it just too slow. He only makes 3 slow/heavy strikes but he's probably more well known for his fast and flashy sword work.

Why doesn't every character have a Soul Charge alternate super?
Jordan Arthur variety and it’d be boring because everyone would be using soul charge just for the ultimate
@@PR1ME98 adding more super alternates would increase variety! Plus it costs 2 full bars for less damage (with the exception of Azwell).

Zasalamel has both Za Warudo *AND* Killer Queen! I love you man, you're my favorite character in the series but you need a fucking nerf.

I wasn't that impressed by Nightmare or Siegfried's even though I was a fan of the character.
For Nightmare, it's just a slash on a horse...
Zasalamel's super on the other hand is badass.
I think the good camera work counts for three points for every one of them. It does a great job of accentuating the moves.

Main story takes about Two Hours in total and individual characters take less time. There isnt much to go by since its mostly text

I get some super strong Nioh vibes from Yoshimitsu's super. That looks like how you absorb Amrita when you kill something and in Nioh Amrita is basically like spirit taken physical form.

Well I know what do if someone corners me if im playing as Astaroth on a open ring.
Really I think this benefits having a 1-5 rating instead of 1-10. Really makes it better to compare supers.
So example Kilik's 7/10 would be a 2/5 and his 9/10 would be a 4/5 so you could see the difference more clearly.
Also the fact that no supers had a 5 or lower
If you ever played The Witcher 3, you would've probably given Geralt's 100 out of 10.

On stream at the time he did this he didn't have inferno unlocked. He was considering doing the story mode real quick but then he realized it was just a copy and paste and said we weren't missing out on much

You know that all you're getting when they add 8 more characters is that the game takes 1 year longer to come out right? Either we keep this roster or you wait until this time next year to get 8 more characters. I could never understand why people complain we are getting games earlier.

Okay hear me out: First she slashes and launches her opponent into the air, then knocks them back down with her shield. She takes back her shield Captain America-style, then does a leaping somersault while sitting on her shield, her opponent face-up meeting her shield as she crushes them under her bottom. She does a wincing “Ow!” to finish the animation

I know this video's about a year and a half old but I still gotta say it
Tira has 2 CEs for her 2 personalities, which certain strings have a chance to switch between and which have a lot of moves unique to them. The first one (yellow) is for Jolly and forces her into Gloomy state and the purple, stronger one is her CE in Gloomy. She has a third state too called Gloomy Coda, which is active after she switches personalities 9 times in a match and gives her access to all of her Soul Charge attacks even when she isn't in Soul Charge. It'ss just generally a nightmare to face on the same level as a good Amy with Purple Rose active

4:20 and 4:51 My favorite part of this video I'm getting this game for Christmas 2020 because of Xianghua, Zasalamel, Ivy, Tira, Geralt of Rivia and Azwel actually fun fact when I was playing Soul Calibur 4 like 6 years ago I was playing as Tira, Xianghua and Amy but Amy and Xianghua were my favorite in that game and I can't wait to play as Xianghua in this game when I get for Christmas
