I'd started gaining weight very gradually after menopause (belly and lower back especially), and along with it I noticed my face looked older and was feeling kind of saggy (at age 52). I thought it was just aging and there was nothing (at least nothing natural I'd be willing to do) that I could do about it. Losing 20 pounds slowly over about 2 years through diet tweaks and resistance training reversed the weight gain as well as the facial aging. I feel (and look) so much better! The "price" of eating fewer carbs and desserts and lifting dumbbells regularly is more than worth the benefits and feeling and looking stronger and younger. Now if I could just get better about my sleep routine...
Sugar is added to just about everything. There are 11 grams of sugar in one glass of milk, 21 grams of sugar in one glass of orange juice, 2 grams of sugar per serving of mixed nuts, 3 grams per slice of wheat bread, 10 grams of sugar per Activia yogurt, eight grams per serving from a can of peas. Even when people try and eat a healthy diet, there is sugar added to almost everything.
This makes perfect sense. insulin instructs your body to store fat in the belly area first. Lots of belly fat shows that your insulin level is way too high.

I’m a 5’5” woman in my 30s hoping to conceive, what’s a good sort of measurement for this? My waist is 26.5” but obviously my stomach is lower than my waist.
Your actual stomach is above your waist. Your waist is fine, but wouldn't want to get any smaller or there will be just as many issues as if you were obese
@@brucejensen3081 oh I thought it was in the “belly” area, below the waist, thanks for correcting! So based on my waist measurement, my amount of belly fat should not be an issue?
I am not obese, but I have extra weight on me at 57. I was a heavy kid. Lost the weight in HS and kept it off for most of my life. I always worked out (military) but always had the love handles. In my 40’s I got back to lifting weights and leaned way out and added muscle mass. Best body I had ever had. But I will say that my face looked way older and was way too thin. I see this in other people too. I now have a “dad (grandpa) bod” again. I think the added fat in my face makes me look younger than a few years ago. Let’s face it. I’m still old
That's interesting because I thought I heard that one of the things that makes a person look younger is the fat on their face. I guess it's just a certain type of fat that is naturally there, obesity or not.
FYI, the longer you live, the more you age. The sun ages you, too much food ages you, and being unhealthy ages you, ect. Depending on what you do, it ages you differently. Either externally or internally.
Etc. is the abbreviation for et cetera. You can't start something with FYI and then use incorrect grammar and expect to be taken seriously. Totally not true. If you have an obese family member, they can act as a free bouncy castle at family b'day parties
Overweight Is good for doing a keto diet.
