I have a black 2000 GT 5 speed now with 130k miles on it..anytime daily driver..zero issues..I love it!..

    My 04 GT has 200K on it and it's still going strong. 31 spline rear with 4.10s, exedy stage 2 clutch with lightweight flywheel, mgw shifter, K&N fipk, 70mm TB, c&l plenum, typhoon manifold, steeda underdrives pullies, custom mid pipe and a borla catback. I didn't start modding the car till it was at about 135K and honestly, I'm gonna keep modding. I still send it and it has been a great car to me. Long live the 2v!

    • @Flathead-fb5tk
      @Flathead-fb5tk Рік тому

      @@Throwshow definitely check the intake and make sure it isn't leaking. It usually leaks right behind the thermostat housing and coolant will run into the valley of the engine and into the first few spark plug holes. A lot of people will tell you the PI intake on these won't crack and leak but trust me they will. Listen for rattling on startup, could need a new timing set. Also it being an 03 it only has 4 threads per spark plug so be careful torquing them if you change them or you'll have a blowout.

    I have a 2003 Ford Mustang GT and I put a supercharge on the engine customised. It entirely with putting some big 22 inches rimqs. It is very good car. And I have found no issues with it because it's my daily car and I literally like drive it 2 to 300 like miles everyday to my work and it's a great car.

    i will say this, i've bought a 2001 mustang gt used and its been not properly cared for, has a broken valve and still runs alright so thats a testament to ford engines. Engine was not worth saving since there were metal frags in the oil pickup so we swapped to another 2 valve v8. Thing runs like a beast and so glad i chose a new edge mustang as a muscle car and daily car.

    One thing to say...DO NOT PUT STAGE 3 CAMS IN ON A STOCK VALVETRAIN. The first owner of my old car did that and I was out of a $4,500 of a $7,000 car because I couldn't afford to swap the motor.

    19 year 02 GT owner. Only one flaw, thermostat and intake spot. Aside from that, an O2 sensor went bad. Nothing else has ever broken on it. Still holds AC gas from 2002 that works as it did then. Usual bolt ons and Bremspeed tune. 115k miles.

    I have an 02 GT in sonic blue but I only have 81K miles on it. It has the 4R70W automatic transmission. I've done some cosmetic upgrades on it such as LEDs. I plan to supercharge it this summer. It has been quite reliable but I had to replace the fuel pump last year. I consider it to be a reliable car.

    I have a 2000 3.8 and all I have to say is these cars are old and do come with there basic problems a big one being ball joints, I’ve heard of many people having oil leaking from the headers, they also have very bad alternators in all models, but like this guy said if you just maintain these cars which parts are dirt cheap, this car is very reliable especially the engines they put in these stangs from the V6 all the way to the cobra you can easily get tons of miles out of them if you take care of it

    Ford really did the world a favor by introducing the Triton Engine Family. The 4.6l is virtually indestructible, as is the 5.3l. In stock trim, these engines are built to rev, and we would've given a leg for this technology back in the early years. Timing chain stretch is going to happen, and is made worse by not keeping the oil & filter changed, the timing chain tensioner is oil pressure activated, and will not function properly. Routine maintenance will make a huge impact on how long your vehicle lasts. I bought my first triton engined 5.3l f150 xl in 2000. It was a beautiful truck with 148k on the odometer, but dude, that 2v5.4l sounded like an old sewing machine. No maintenance had been performed, and I would wager that the tires still had their factory air😂
    Ford's have always been the poor man's car 👀 because ford's are nearly indestructible, I still have the 97 f150 it has 300k on it and other than routine maintenance it still has the factory air in the tires😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Bla bla bla damn drugs 😮😳 😮🙄 😮😉 😮😅

      I understand that. I love my newedge but it really doesn't have many creature comforts so if that us something you really care about I wouldn't get one honestly. Also inside the cabin is very loud (I know, it's a mustang obviously) but not just the engine. All the plastic is constantly creaking and rattling and it is super cheap interior. Not an issue for me because I don't care about that stuff but it is the most reliable car I've ever owned.

    I put 4,000 miles a month. Reliable run full synthetic change every 5k miles at 171k doesn’t burn a drop of oil and trans is smooth. 2004 gt ball joints go bad fast and rust comes up a lot in the midwest but maintenance is easy to do yourself
