Arons dad called me in for a session with him and Aron. I played bass and tracked the stuff. After we had completed our tracks, I had a coffee. When I came back to the room, I heard the most inside out drum solo ever. Aron was wringing out all the insane chops. I told him he needed to feature this in concert. He smiled and said "nah, can't do this stuff out there.". A little time later Dirty Loops came out and the rest is history.
Best reaction video I’ve seen, period. No bullshit, just a very quick intro, straight into it, and not pausing every second to make some useless comment- brilliant! Seeing your reaction actually put a smile on my face, really genuine and a joy to watch! Then of course there is the deep analysis afterwards which is great :) Keep up the good work! You sir have earned yourself a subscriber
They're so freakin exciting, I have same reaction as you're having here. Just spine tingling, everybody has chops through the roof but it's also tasteful as hell. I absolutely LOVE the chords Jonah and Henrik go through, unreal harmonies so beasutiful. And of course the drummer is a beast. Thanks for video
How he modulated the rhythm of the sequencer, blending with tone and volume perfectly for the magic, and to be so sweet on the beat. That was God-like. I know it's produced, but the awesomeness shines through.
Subbed 👍 And although I’ve seen this reaction wayyyy back when it came out, I watched it again just now. Great reaction/analysis! Thanks again for opening our ears and minds to the awesomeness of Dirty Loops and Aron Mellergardh 🙏 The sequenced bit, I believe, is a berimbau, the Brazilian percussive stringed instrument. There seem to be other, additional sounds of those kinds of instruments in there, the more I listen to this track the more I hear ;) but I might be wrong. You mentioned ‘Mozambique’ -maybe that’s the go…. 🥁🪘 In any case, a true DLoops masterpiece. And lucky the students of yours which can get a better insight into Aron’s insane rhythms and playing… As a non-drummer, all I can marvel at is his tight playing, how he drives every DL piece, his dynamics and phrasing…this guy does my head in completely, and has made me fall in love with drumming. Oh and don’t get me started on Jonah, his vocals and key chops 🔥 And Henrik?! 🔥🔥🔥 Hoping to high heaven for another Dirty Loops reaction or analysis from your channel! ☺️👍🙏
You are the only reactor who has his vocal mic under the band. EXCELLENT. As another drummer I appreciate your insight Thanks for what you are doing. You’re also the only reactionist that picked up on the Corea piano influence.
I thoroughly enjoyed your reaction! It's obvious, based on your excitement and comments, that you are very knowledgeable with drums. You've got a new subscriber, sir! 👍
Super flippin mega awesome and entertaining reaction! Impressive how you hear those sevens, I had no clue! Well I'm not the skilled drummer here, so it shouldn't be a surprise maybe... Do more!!
Fun fact. This is not a video of a live recording. They track the songs and then relearn every note or in this case drum stroke they play to then record the video. To me that makes all their parts, especially the drum solo, that much more impressive.
If you're interested in more chamber music (and by that I mean these three in a tiny-ass living room stripped down musically) with Aron and his phenomenal drumming, check out Dirty Loops' Coffee Break Is Over series. The sessions with just him and Henrik (the bassist) are just a delight watching them bounce off each other. Drum and Bass never sounded so good!
very genuine reaction! This is great cause i always thought this was an extremly skilled solo, but since i am not a musician i never knew why its was so bad ass. now i know why!
Dirty Loops are so much fun to watch. All of them are top notch and really playing their own style. Maybe a Meshuggah - Bleed (live drumcam) ? Haake is a machine.
Sounds very inspired by Pat Metheny group and Lyle Mays piano style. I didn't know these guys, even though they are from my hometown (according to google).
Hi! You must listening to Dirty Loops & Cory Wong cover of Michael Jacksons Thriller. Came out yeasterday. I love to hear your opinion on that. Can you do a reaction on that song? Håkan Svensson in Sweden.
I love your breakdown analysis on technique. Could you check out Mario Duplantier-The City. It's the name of his drum solo. Or minotaur is also a awesome drum solo by Mario Diplantier.
Would be interesting if you reacted to Baard Kolstad (Leprous). There's some playthroughs out there. "Moon" and "The sky is red" are two of them. Drums sounds makes the world happy.
Fantastic reaction and explanation! Subscribed. For future videos, it's okay to reduce the size of the video window so it's not covering up half of your face throughout the reaction. Thanks!

Aww, c’mon- the fact that they are clearly having a great time is totally infectious! Plus their humor is a great addition to level out what would otherwise be dorky showoffy music. They’re making complex music that still has some fun and sexy to it!
Then go to the link of the original so you can. The purpose of my video is to explain what John is doing. Your welcome to not listen rather than make a comment like that. If you feel that way then you are in the wring place. Thanks! PS More comment like that and I will gladly remove you from this channel.

Like hearing the drum talk…. From a drummer. Aaron is a beast!
Wow. Amazing composition. Incredible drummer. And the guy on bass is nuts, too.
Right!!! Henrik is a Beast Master on the bass
Amen to that.
All Swedes. Wich is awesome. And Aron Mellergård is a cousin to my cousins father
That'd be Hendrik
great trio

I’m just delighted people make this of music with these unearthly skills.
And no auto-tune…

Ooooh That comment on Latin style ...never thought of it! Great note!
Aron is such an amazing drummer! He has similar chops to Dennis Chambers.
yea just doesn't hit as hard as Dennis, they're both absurdly good

Reminds me a little of a band called Level 42 which is a UK band. Check them out.
uh, OH MY GAWD. This monster plays with Cobham-esque power unlike anyone I have seen in along time.
Gesù Cristo... ma questi alieni???? Drummer not human!!!!

Really good drummer. Just a sad thing that the toms get lost in the mix. We hear a little attack and no tone at all.
Don't know what headphones u use but them toms sound so good. Heads and tone.
Two words. Neal. Peart. At least in terms of his solo composition.
Apart from the stupid laughing , and not always being orignal in composing , these guys are awesome

480p? Smartphone headset? Is this a parody? 😆
Be nice to hear the solo without the talking through it.

Search for the original on here. Audio is on Spotify on an album called Phoenix (track 2). Try harder, complain less.
You can't listen to this kind of music with such cheap headphones. :)
