To be fair the torpedoes on the weser are the better option as the rocket planes are ap and will only over pen a dd doing next to no damage but your best hope in that carrier of dealing with dds is to just keep them lit and let you team deal with them something that cv was not interested in doing would not be surprised if he had his mini map turned off tbh
Nice video. Juste remind you that german cv are not used the same way than the others. torpedo = dd , AP rockets = cruisers , AP bombs = BB and large cruisers.
actually jingles german cvs torp bombers are best for dd hunting, as their rockets are AP and can be bounced from a dd easily, while its torps are quite quick
Jingles, the reason the CV took the torpedo planes to deal with the DD was because he’s a KM CV and that’s his primary weapon system against DDs. His AP rockets work significantly less well against DDs. Just a minor correction there. This match pretty sums up the state of the game. A handful of players carrying a sack of potatoes on their backs and a bunch of sub 50% WR’ers gargling salt water 😂
For tier 5 we usually have a two Fujin and one Okhotnik in a division with my clan mates. This is hilarious in results. And again in this match no one is using the hotkeys to tag targets. I don't usually play CVs, however the one time I did for the first 5 minutes I scouted the whole enemy team without going into an attack. The team was amazed and appreciated the scout.
To be fair the rocket planes of the weser are surprisingly crap against destroyers with more than 2 brain cells. The german torpedo bombers are actually quite effective against them however if you can aim.
Except that low tier destroyers are also pretty much made of paper. AP works well if you hit them head-on. The real issue is most carrier players are oblivious to the fact that their damage output is crap anyways and providing intel and spotting is their primary job.
Jingles, the German cv torpedoes are actually more effective against dds than rockets. This is because the rockets are Armour piercing so they won’t do much against a lightly armoured dd. The torps are quick and hard to dodge so he was doing the right thing👍🏼
In defense of that carrier: It was a German T6 CV which means a) torpedo-bombers are actually the best choice against DDs because his other two would be AP-rockets/bombers. Secondly yes, it was a Swedish T7 after him; yes they got no smoke, but even the T7 Skane has good enough AA to seriously hurt the Weser with his low-hp planes. Still he absolutely should have spotted them while teammates where near them, but avoiding the Skane / picking torp-bombers wasn’t as stupid as you might think on these new CVs. They really struggle against DDs and especially the Weser isn’t particular strong compared to the US/IJN T6.
Props to those T5 BB and Omaha trying to help that carrier. They were ablative platings. *Watches the rest of video*. Okay half the team was ablative plating.
As a relatively new player, I can offer a possible explanation for the carrier's actions. When I started playing WoW, Wargaming essentially gifted me a Weser carrier, despite not possessing or having any experience with any previous carrier. I did, however, practice with it on Co-op battles instead of team games, but if I had not known the difference, I'd have probably ended up bumbling my way through a battle like this, not knowing about spotting, using torps for destroyers and rockets for battleships, letting down my teammates and having my fleet name disgraced for posterity on YT.
Had a game on Legends today in my Boise where I had a Kracken, High cal, and 185,00 dmg and my team still managed to rip defeat from the jaws of victory because 2 BB'S decide it's a good idea to Yolo into 3 BB's and 2 heavy cruisers with 4 m8n remaining and us holding 3 of the 4 caps and up by 200 pts. They were decimated and we lost by 32pts at the end of the match.
Jingles, defending the friendly CV's aircraft choices somewhat. He is a German CV which utilize ap rockets that are, for all intents and purposes, worthless against destroyers. Granted his team could have used spotting info, but any plane type is capable of that role assuming he actually spots. German CVs also have fairly quick (55_60 kt) short arming range torpedoes as opposed the the normal (35-40 kt) seen on all other CVs. In this instance his choice of aircraft for the roles they were used in was actually spot on. He had a better chance of striking the enemy dds with torps and doing meaningful damage than he had with anything else at his disposal as he doesn't even have HE bombs. Though the bombs definitely would have been a better choice against the enemy Konig his attack planes were not a poor one so long as he hit above the main armor belt. Yes, he could have spotted for his teammates though, not defending that aspect of his actions, but his aircraft choices were actually quite fair. I also feel I should mention though that the swedish DDs, despite their longer detection ranges, also tend to have respectable AA. So it's possible he was opting to save his planes for meaningful/higher value target assists, something I can't take him to task for too much.
With German carriers, the rocket attack planes carry AP rockets for use against cruisers. I’m not excusing his subpar play style but it’s something to consider with the new carrier line
I’ve always wondered how to implement and balance leadership into random battles in MMO games. I’ve always wanted to see an Admiral, Vice Admiral, Commodore, or any other type of multiple ship commander implemented into the game. Because what if a global player campaign event (like a WWII re-enactment) is created with one massive open world map? Been waiting for either WarGaming or WarThunder to make an official re-enactment campaign.
Hate to tell you Jingles, but over in the (currently not so) good old USA it's not really your device screen size that determines what resolution video you can manage to watch on UA-cam most times. It's usually how much bandwidth your managing to get from your crap-tastic ISP.
Yesterday must have been Destroyer Day on WOWS. I had 5 games with 4 or more DDs on each team, and one of those games actually had 5 per team. It was rough.
I must say the timing on Jingles's monitor failure was convenient for me because I just bought a 1440p monitor not even two months ago, so now I can enjoy my WoWs replays at native resolution again xD
Speaking of killing things when you are dead, I did this with my Langley. I sunk the ship that sunk me. Then flew across the map to kill the last enemy ship. :)
An amazing round with a sub-par CV performance, but here's another perspective, just for the sake of it: Yes, that CV made some bad choices in positioning and target selection, but I'd argue it was the fact that 75% of his team's scouts were clumped up on one flank and the enemy team _knowing about it_ , that were the greater problem. Not because the CV couldn't have managed to light up the two Skanes (he could and should have), but because you shouldn't rely on anyone else doing their job in this game, certainly not a T6 carrier. And guess what no spotting in the center and a weak flank will lead to: everyone following the other three DDs. It would have been the CV's job to clean up the mess left by this DD division, but he unfortunately couldn't or simply didn't. He was unreliable, but the team had maneuvered themselves in a position where they had to rely on him, _despite_ his actions. Then they went in to chase the DDs _anyway_ with no spotting whatsoever, since the DDs where all elsewhere. Meanwhile the enemy team lost one flank to a roflstomping toptier DD division, but exerted mapcontrol elsewhere, which they knew they could, because 3 of 4 enemy DDs were spotted on one flank very early on and left a gaping hole for the Skanes to exploit.
Yeah that sounds nice in words but doesn't change the fact that the asshole in the Weser was screaming for like 4 min straight "help" only to then NOT spot either Skane while the CV cocksmoker ran away. CV players like that just give the argument that CV needs to be removed more ammunition.
@@onebigfatguy I missed the part where he asked for help, can you provide a timecode (or a rough idea when this occurred)? @@onebigfatguy Look closely, that's not the CV sending quick commands, but the Montecuccoli. And rightly so, as his ship is fast and great at killing DDs, so would profit greatly from the CV's spotting. Minekaze and some of the Jervises even tell the CV to a) move away and b) spot the DDs. He unfortunately proceeds to do neither of course. So no, he doesn't ask for help, he's 'just' running and attacking the wrong targets. Still frustrating to watch, though.
Jingles, German CVs have AP rockets and really fast torps. They’re best for hitting destroyers because they’re so fast. The rockets might’ve reset that Acasta but it wouldn’t have done a lot of damage. So that Weser is actually using the best squadron for the Job. If you’re going to criticize a Carrier for doing something, at least try to understand the peculiarities of the specific carrier.
Jingles i like ya. But you made some serious mistakes concerning the german cv around 15:50. German have ap rockets which are useless against dd’s. Its recommended for german cvs to use torpedo bombers to go after destroyers. Just wanted to clear that up. Have a great day!
Jingles: "An aircraft carrier has never been sunk by being set on fire" The 4 Japanese Carriers at the Battle of Midway: Allow us to introduce ourselves.
The player has only the Langley and the Weser and 35 matches in both and 352 battles overerall. Going with torpedos at the DD was the right thing. And I would not say that going after captal ships with rocktes is wrong in a German CV. With the AP rockets you can deal damage. You can even do damage with the HE rockets from the Zeppelin because of their high penetration (40 mm)
With the Wesers being handed out for free, you either get an allied CV who knows what he's doing or you get a clueless BB main that figures out the commands whilst ruining a game.
Actually jingles the cv player is a Weser. German rocket planes are AP and don't do well against DD's. Torp planes were his best bet. But he did still throw the game for his team by not working with his team when it counted.
Actually Jingles, the friendly CV was German. The Torp bombers are actually the better choice against DDs since the rockets barely do any damage to DDs (AP and accuracy reasons). The torps however are quite quick and CAN take a DD by surprise.
he was saying that because of the fact that it's a triple destroyer division. this means that at any given time while all three are alive that they can have three smoke screens ready to drop. he wasn't saying that each destroyer has three charges of smoke screen
To be honest Jingles, German CVs have a bit of a harder time hunting DDs since their Rocket Attack Squadrons are equipped with AP rockets, rather than the usual HE rockets everyone else uses. Yes, that doesn't really affect their spotting capability and that's entirely bad play by the Wesser.

It's low tier so expected but once your in tier 6 DD's or higher in a tier 8+ game radar spam and the OP tier 8 and 10 carriers change everything.
@@Ushio01 It's still a T7 game. Not low tier.
*sitting and watches jingles on a mobile at 480p*
I FEEL ATTACKED JINGLES!!
It may be 2:36am and I may have an 8am class tomorrow but oh well it’s jingles
Jingles mentioned watching on mobile device at 480p. Me who is watching on my phone realises I'm on 480p and switches to 1080p60
Man I remember the first Jingles video I watched back in 2013
I think it was right around today, 7 yrs ago
Actually Jingles, the best suited squadron from a non premium German CV with which to attack an enemy DD, are the torpedo bombers... These torpedoes are quite fast, and the other two squadrons use AP payload...
"Can't sink anything if you're dead"
My torpedoes would like to know your location.
Hi Mighty Jingles, we LOVE YOU! Stay safe, stay cool! Greetings from Prague, Czech Republic!
Allied carrier running away from other team's DDs instead of doing his job sees team mates going back to help him and is like : "Some of you may die but that is a sacrifice I'm willing to make." My commiserations to the Jervis division and my thanks to the Evil Gnome Overlord for sharing this replay and providing great commentary.
10:25 actually ha HAS used his DC on the single fire with Torps 5 seconds away....
Oh, and actually the Weser 15:23 sending his Torpedo Planes was his only choice because AP Rockets not doing shit against a DD.
Thanks Jingles.
Nice to see you rocking a Cincinnati Reds T-shirt, Jingles!
actually jingles german cvs torp bombers are best for dd hunting, as their rockets are AP and can be bounced from a dd easily, while its torps are quite quick
Jingles. Manager of the salt mines here. Please for the love of Akitsuki, we need your help. The workers are starting a revolution!
I realize I'm way behind time with this comment but I like this intro, short and very much to the point of the game.
13:46. The bottom picture is USS Enterprise CVN 65. That did not sink the ship but caused extensive damage
Home from work and about to head to bed just before midnight after unwinding...Jingles notification...no sleep yet!
That's because German CVs have AP rockets. The nice thing about torps is they never get overpens.
Yo, was quite exciting Jinges !!!
That intro was smooooth
Props to those T5 BB and Omaha trying to help that carrier. They were ablative platings. *Watches the rest of video*. Okay half the team was ablative plating.
Damn those hurdy-gurdy boats! And CV players rolling their face across the keyboard.
A great Game with great Commentary! :)
It's a Weser. Torpedo bombers are your weapon of choice against DDs. With attack planes, all you get is overpens. IF you manage to hit.
_watching on tablet in 480p_
*nervous sweating*
As a relatively new player, I can offer a possible explanation for the carrier's actions. When I started playing WoW, Wargaming essentially gifted me a Weser carrier, despite not possessing or having any experience with any previous carrier. I did, however, practice with it on Co-op battles instead of team games, but if I had not known the difference, I'd have probably ended up bumbling my way through a battle like this, not knowing about spotting, using torps for destroyers and rockets for battleships, letting down my teammates and having my fleet name disgraced for posterity on YT.
love your videos jingles
Had a game on Legends today in my Boise where I had a Kracken, High cal, and 185,00 dmg and my team still managed to rip defeat from the jaws of victory because 2 BB'S decide it's a good idea to Yolo into 3 BB's and 2 heavy cruisers with 4 m8n remaining and us holding 3 of the 4 caps and up by 200 pts. They were decimated and we lost by 32pts at the end of the match.
Rolling my face over the keyboard, that's how I make every decision in my life.
I miss the ship happens logo. Need to transfer it over to this intro someday, perhaps?
That intro... it's like having an 8inch gun fire within 6 feet of your ears
The title had reminded me one quote from one game
BEHOLD
IMPACT MAN
With German carriers, the rocket attack planes carry AP rockets for use against cruisers. I’m not excusing his subpar play style but it’s something to consider with the new carrier line
Again Jingles, new intro; nice.
I love my new Jingles "Howdy Folks" t shirt in RED. Yes, Jingles, RED like THE REDS. GREAT QUALITY!
could someone clarify why the DD#s didnt go back to kill the enemy dds attacking the CV?
Akchually jingles the konig did put out a single fire
Jingles: you cant sink anything when youre dead
flesh wound award: Am I a joke to you
how did the first squidrin of torpedo plans go hit without beaing spotter
I remember when Jingles only called carriers 'fun police'
Its almost 2 in the morning where I am. One hour more and its a good time for a krabby patty.
SIR! WE SUNK AN DESTROYER! Torpedo Specialist- thats a Cruiser Sir.
An amazing round with a sub-par CV performance, but here's another perspective, just for the sake of it:
Yes, that CV made some bad choices in positioning and target selection, but I'd argue it was the fact that 75% of his team's scouts were clumped up on one flank and the enemy team _knowing about it_ , that were the greater problem.
What I do see is tons of people first asking, then outright telling him to use his planes to spot, to which he only replies with the 'curses!' quick comm. Btw: The player in question has
@@Zerknautscher He's spamming the chat command for "HELP!" right around after the Omaha that went to help him got raped by the duel skanes. This is when the Konig and monty "try" to help him.
I like the new intro
3:50...almost screwed that one up there .. i see Jingles is putting that new monitor to good use.
A mobile device on 480P? Jingles how dare you attack me so personally
I think I’m missing something in my life
A triple Lyon division with jingles commentary
There's one of those a few months back, good shit!
Never ever defend any carrier; yours or theirs!
I really hope the Weser player sees this video, but somehow I think he still wouldn't care!
I do not main carriers!
"Howdy folks, and welcome back to world of warships with armchair admiral jingles"
Jingles: "An aircraft carrier has never been sunk by being set on fire" The 4 Japanese Carriers at the Battle of Midway: Allow us to introduce ourselves.
You do realize that when Jingles says that, he is being sarcastic for exactly the reason you bring up?
The player has only the Langley and the Weser and 35 matches in both and 352 battles overerall.
Going with torpedos at the DD was the right thing.
And I would not say that going after captal ships with rocktes is wrong in a German CV. With the AP rockets you can deal damage.
You can even do damage with the HE rockets from the Zeppelin because of their high penetration (40 mm)
Try saying Scawne with the e on the end sound like the e in explosion and you're golden! All Swedish salt miners will celebrate! :)
Its 4 am here in Missouri mate! 1 when it was uploaded!
Send this to Claus, this is prime "Carry the stupids" material!
That last picture is the USS Enterprise. She didnt sink....
She was put out of action, you can’t operate aircraft with a damaged flight deck.
"Armor Piercing Rockets... Minimum damage to destroyers. Excellent. Are you with me?" - Z-35 (Warship Stories. Agent Z-35)
Also, no bombing destroyers, or spamming overpens, and the only option is to torp them.
Actually Jingles ;) WESER is german carrier(AP rockets and bombs, fast torpedoes) so torpedo bombers is not as bad choice as it looks.
Seems like alot of carrier players never bother to check their mini-map. Plus i learned how to play a carrier by watching these videos haha
"British smokes don't last long, but you get three of them" *Looks at counter that says 7* oh jingles
he was saying that because of the fact that it's a triple destroyer division. this means that at any given time while all three are alive that they can have three smoke screens ready to drop. he wasn't saying that each destroyer has three charges of smoke screen
