      I’ve tried the native on the latest version of 10.8 and the colors being washed out is a non starter. Am I crazy or does reshade have far better color without being washed out?

    Great video, I totally understand the social side of this, playing with freinds and still seeing your own cab and surroundings. As for me for some reason that is beyond me, my family and friends don't understand my fascination for pinball. So it's VR for me all the way.
    I can see when the Quest 3 comes out and AR becomes more popular, we will have all the classic tables in AR standing in our own room. That will be so cool.
    I hope you will still be making a video covering pinball in VR and discribing your experience. I understand these aren't the easiest of videos to make because all you can really do is discribe what you are seeing.
    VR pinball really needs promoting, VPX VR is already there with all the classic tables, and Zen needs encouraging to release all their tables in VR.
    Another plus of VR is that you don't need the expense of building a full cab, you can build a much easier stubby cab. There's loads of examples out there.
    Keep up the good work. 👍🏻

I have a 600 watt system powering 4 exciters, 1 bass shaker, 1 subwoofer and the 2 main speakers with a 43" 120hz G-Sync Samsung playfield. All Dayton and Kenwood speakers. Does all of this apply to people just running a single screen desktop setup in that sloping back view 1:23 you mentioned at the start? Because I don't have a cabinet, but I really want to try this out! Thankyou for the video and all the thorough information provided 👍
    I'm also wondering (just out of curiosity, because I hope to have a cab one day) if this can be used in conjunction with a Microsoft Kinect device, like I have seen in some rare cabs, that also tracks your head and lets you kind of see around the payfiled objects?
    Because for me, if both can be combined, then I imagine that it might go that extra step to tricking the mind that your playing a real table, at least when your're in the moment!

    I managed to get the native 3D anaglyph feature working in VPX and I really enjoyed the added depth it gave to the tables. The only thing I didn't like was how badly the default colors of the tables were altered. Does the reshade shader method minimize how much the original color is changed?

    • @SpaciesArcade
      @SpaciesArcade  Рік тому +4

      With the TriOviz glasses and the shader set to the emulation for those glasses as per the video, you will get effectively 99% original colors. It's only slightly dimmed due to the glasses lenses themselves however the color reproduction is bang on. It's massively better than when I had it on just one of the generic Green/Magenta glasses option - that looked 'chromatic' where the colors were not accurate. With the latest update and native support for the TriOviz glasses color it is now near perfect. 👍

    First of all let me say this looks amazing, and thank you so much dude for this video - it really is a game changer in terms of the immersion. ZPD was the biggest key for me in terms of getting things to look "right" and I think the colors still look pretty good. Do you happen to know though if there's a way to tweak individual table settings? I got my settings to the point where most games are good, but on some the elements pop out too much and look detached from the playfield. Also, some tables don't seem to use the reshade depth settings at all - is it something native to the table script? Can those be made to work with this? Thank you again!

    • @SpaciesArcade
      @SpaciesArcade  5 місяців тому +1

      Yep, each table has a slightly different effect. I'm unsure why, however it does appear to be the way each table has been authored. I don't know how to adjust the more problematic tables in VPX itself, however fortunately there are not a lot like that.
      There may be a way to have custom settings per table by using a frontend like Pinballx that supports different version vpx.exe's per table and potentially swapping out the exe's to a batch file that copies the reshade settings for that specific table first then runs vpx. Not sure if that is possible so you may want to check over at the gameex forums and ask there about that. Cheers

      Fixed it by deleting all my Reshade .ini files and reinstalling SuperDepth3D and Reshade, just in case anyone was having a similar compile issue with SuperDepth. Plays good now although I still have some FPS issues with some tables, particularly VPW's Red and Ted's Roadshow for some reason. I don't know if it's because there's seemingly a lot of 3D elements in that table?

    • @Fontgod
      @Fontgod Рік тому +1

      I don't have one, but the old LG 3D LCD TVs with "Cinema 3D (FPR)" mode should work in vertical 3D as they use circular polarised passive 3D glasses which means it doesn't matter if the screen is rotated. Some 3D TVs seem to use linear polarised glasses which becomes a problem when rotating, however there is a fix that you can do by sticking a screen protector film over each lens which seems to cancel out the polarisation (mostly) but can have odd rainbow effects.
      Unfortunately most of the 3D TVs were only 1080p, and the 4K ones may have the rotation issue depending on what polarisation they use in the glasses (or active/passive).
      When you do test it out, keep in mind that you may need to set "use y axis" depending on your windows orientation. Also experiment with 3D modes top/bottom (over/under) vs side by side vs interlaced, as top/bottom is supposedly slightly higher resolution in 3D since side by side loses half of it resolution on one axis during the TV conversion process to 3D. Its a bit hard to explain when you start adding in monitor rotation settings, but basically switch between the three modes and hopefully one mode should look slightly clearer.
