This just brought back sooo many memories of when i was a kid and would play pinball at a friends house and listen to his jukebox. They have certainly come a long way while kinda keeping the retro aspect into play. You have to appreciate that. Love this machine and everything about it and love how it can play music videos on the backboard. Keep up the hard work matt!

This is a quality build! Everything was carefully and appropriately placed. It's electronic artwork in action! I'm also a pinball junkie and love the old school builds vs the newer 4k electronic setups, but now I'm reconsidering the advantages of going to a digital 4k customizable pinball machine! So much more content with such a wow factor in the colors!

Visual Pinball is an open source project made by thousands of people around the world. I've been using it for more than 20 years and you can install it too. The company just made a physical table.
I bought a new one from Rec Room World 8 months ago for $10k total.

Oh man, showing off the topper while it was on guns and roses brought back! My best friend growing up, her dad had that pinball machine in their living room. We'd play all the time! It was a fun game!
Wow, this looks like an incredible digital pinball table! I've actually been getting a lot more into pinball myself recently. Super fun, and I'm definitely looking to own a table or two in the future and look into some leagues/tournaments!
Trust me, virtual pinball is a great way to get into real pinball. You can play tables over and over and learn what gives big points, which makes playing the real games much more enjoyable once you know what to do.
@@arcade_matt Absolutely! I've been playing Pinball FX 3 for a few years although those physics aren't the most accurate. Recently downloaded Visual Pinball and it's awesome being able to play so many real machines on my PC!
Love the fan art on the walls
My initial reaction was "I had pinball video games in the 90's that had different levels." However, after watching, I see the appeal of this. One, the actual cabinet is more fun than a video game controller. Two, the actual feel of the game when you hit different elements. Overall, for a pinball enthusiast, I think this is a win.
I see a lot of amazing potential in virtual pinball machines… changing the display or graphics to the next hot media property or video game property every few months
Yesterday i installed one of those Virtual Pinballs (Visual Pinball X) and i am SO impressed with the quality of sound, light simulation/emulation and tables, even running on my PC i FEEL it like the real thing. I can imagine how fun it would be to have it in that form factor with all those features. Hope i can afford (or build) one someday ! This thing seems to worth every penny !

Now THIS was just my style of games. I have loved Pinball since I was a little kid. I even got all of the Williams and Stern Games for the PS3, PS4, etc. I considered back in the day buying an actual Pinball Machine, but thankfully I didn't, as things went south for my health. I'm happy with my Playstation versions. This however, could be the one!

I am used to do custom handmade arcades at home (Made 10 of them) and one thing i did on MY builds was to NOT have a button to put credits. You can only put credits using Coins. Glad to see i am not the only one who think this is matters on arcade machines (even those "emulated" ones). Coin handling is part of the nostalgia.

We got the Skillshot FX (made by the Skeeball company) a couple years back and I absolutely adore it, and then we got a "lesser" 2 in 1 unit because it had some games we really wanted that weren't availalbe with the Skillshot. There's a couple neat features on that one that the Skillshot doesn't have (I do miss having a plunger, although the launch ball button will work for getting skill shots, and the nudge isn't a physical nudge -- it's button controlled nudging), but I still have to give the nod to the Skillshot as my favorite unit. The cabinet for it is a work of art, and it looks like the playfield is bigger than that unit. Still.... it would be a tough choice between the two if I was shopping today. Cool review!
some day I will own a VP pin cab. but I went with the atgames 4k pinball instead which was much more affordable. With the ssf feedback upgrade it feels plenty realistic to me. The two aren't in the same league but the atgames is nice enough for right now. :) Awesome job showing off how great this hobby can be. Thanks to the countless hours the vpin table makers have poured into recreating our favorite tables!!! They are gods among men.

Rec Room World offers the best virtual pinball machines in the United States, but I wish they would upgrade their monitors to a 4K gaming monitor to improve the contrast and get rid of the cloudy gray image on the playfield from a side/angle view. The monitor size is great, but the contrast is not that good. There are some customers of theirs that have switched out the monitor for this reason. Hopefully the monitor is upgraded for the 8.0 machine. Otherwise, great machine, great customer community, and great customer service. I demoed their 5.0 machine before and I plan on getting a machine from them on the next upgrade.
Best to wait until late 2024 to mod 2025 when the new Micro-LED monitors take over the market, as many models have black levels that rival those of OLED monitors.

I've had my Ultra VP 6 for over a year and it is absolutely phenomenal. Total quality from top to bottom. It's a great addition to my real pins because I can play virtually any machine whenever I want.
nice video, I personally built my own virtual pinball, almost exactly like yours, using a real pinball cabinet, and save a ton of money. But if you aren't willing or aren't able, going pre-built is the way to go.

As a slot, arcade, and pinball repair guy, all I see is quality (except for windoze). I'd prefer to see a linux distro. Everything is serviceable. Mostly off the shelf parts. Great wood. AWESOME virtual pinball machine!

This is a beautiful machine! What are the retail of these? Also I kind of noticed when you were showing the speaker underneath it was dented but it could have just been the lighting. Was that something that happened during shipping? If you have something where you purchase one of these machines and that happens do they send you a replacement parts due to shipping damage?

I have been talking about getting one of these forever now. Only things I would want changed... would like the playfield the be more standard width so it looks more like a real machine. Possible it wouldn't matter if I had a change to play one to test it out. The backglass screen needs to be bigger so the artwork is full screen. I also prefer the playfield not to include the lights at the top so its slanted underneath them. I heard they glare against the playfield also. Sure it doesn't replace the real deal but to be able to play all the vintage classics it would be worth owning one of these.
The width of the ULTRA VP is equivalent to the width of my Star trek Next Generation mechanical pinball machine, which they consider Widebody SuperPin. The depth of the 49" monitor is exactly 42 inches which is the exact same size as the majority of mechanical pinball machines. You do not want a 43" monitor, it is not deep enough.
Do they categorize machines by manufacture? I love Gottlieb tables the most because of their unique designs. Pinball Pool, Pro Pool, Big Indian, Genie, Central Park, Pro Football, El Dorado, Black Hole, Haunted House, Krull, Q*bert's Quest, and Goin' Nuts are my favorite tables.
Yes, there is a 'Manufacturer" sub-menu where you can pick Gottlieb, Bally, etc.

After a shaky start in the virtual world pinball has become pretty realistic on the pc. I've played tables that actually had one flipper softer than the other which happens although it's because one flipper isn't 100% but that they would include that virtually is a good eye for detail. I've always meant to get a machine but really I'd want 4 because one is not enough. That's what sets this one above the mechanical in that you've got a whole stable of games to choose from in an actual machine. This machine is impressive, it does however also have an impressive price tag (which I don't think you mentioned) of around $10k which would put it out of the range of most gamers. Having said that I think a true wizards would definitely have it on the Christmas list.

nice review but it would have been better if it was started at the unboxing stage. it would be benificial to see how it is shipped and how well all the internals were protected during shipping.
Great video! My only question is compared to a real pinball machine how much less maintenance does it have and how long to the motors inside last before you need to change it? If it's in a commercial arcade what's the cost difference compared to a regular pinball machine?

Is it an OLED? The contrast - blacks looked a little gray. I super like the fan. It gives it something different. Wonder if I could get the flashers on the side or up top. I don't like the glare of them on the screen. I would love to have one all packaged up. Mine is a Franken machine with wires and keyboards and speakers and screens and stickers. Ah.
