Thanks for this. Had it running before i wiped my cab and did a clean install with fewer tables. Hadn't sat down to see where i messed up reinstalling this one. Now i have the motivation to do so (if i can pry myself from Die Hard)

Great explanation... practical and uncomplicated! What version is this, as I have the LE ESD version here and the files are different and it doesn't have Puppack? I didn't find your version

Thanks Rudy. I was able to get the table to play but the PUP pack was not running. The PUP editor worked with the b2s pup pack but could not figure out how to get the PUP working in VPX. I didn't have any errors as you mentioned in the video. Any ideas? Thank you!
Just make sure you use both pup folders the both need to be in the pup videos folder like in the video and it will work

Great Video, thank you so much. I followed it correctly i think. Everything works accept i dont see the Full DMD video or overlay, just the colour DMD on its own.
That was the topper I just moved it to the dmd screen I don't have a topper screen.

Hello Rudy, love your videos . Can you tell me what is a miss? For some reason the DMD is on the backglass and when I slide it down into the DMD screen, I am unable to save the position. When I go to the bottom right corner to save position nothing pops up to allow me to save. Thanks

@jason3709 when you hit F1 make sure your using external dmd and not show dmd

Used to have this fully working, including Pup Pack but now only table and colour dmd works. Pup Pack will not load at all for some reason. All my other Pup Packs work fine though. Do i need to enable something? I have even tried removing all my existing VPINSPA folders that contain all the dmd files, etc and following your install guide but the table starts to load then just freezes before it should open.
Not sure. Just look at the files I install and do it that way in the video. Don't need all the other stuff

I have that one going (sadly, with no external DMD or other) and thought maybe your copy would be a pop-in-and-play by just swapping in the table file.

PS - For what it's worth, it doesn't appear the latest 10.8 beta x32/x64 builds work with SPA ; I get a cannot find SPA error. But it loads fine with 10.6 and 10.7. x32 so I'll roll with that.

Good Advice !@@rudysarcade Last Q: I promise :) I'm probably not the only one with (2) screen setup. Any easy way to find the DMD ? I think it's 'off screen' because I can see it when I alt-tab but I cannot actually 'get to it'. I see on your demo it's down on your 3rd monitor. Do I need to go edit the PuP or ScreenRes.txt to move it ?
@thepacketnarc7634 no the dmd is in the dmddevice.ini in the vpinmame folder. Open it with txt editor then go down to the dmd x and y location and put in 0 for them so when you start a table it will be on the playfield and you can move it.

Rudy - Thanks for posting this video, love all your vids! I already had most of the files for this table, but just did a new install of a new cab. I am having a different issue. Followed your instructions and ran the VpinInstallSPA.exe and copied the files as instructed, however when loading the table I get a "Can't load SPA". (no DLL error) as I have several versions of Redist installed. Any ideas?

SOLVED!! I have 2 versions of VPpinballX 10.7.4.exe. The one I was trying must be 64bit but for whatever reason I had added 86X to the name. I found on my pc a VPinballX 10.7.4 32bit.exe and it worked first time. Thankyou Rudy again for all your perfect tutorials.
Fixed - Found my 32bit VPX link was not actually the 32b version.
Saw the link yesterday, but was not on personal computer. Looks like I lost the window, So could we pretty please have the link again for a little longer🙂
When you say, "you can use 32-bit unless you patched it", what are you referencing? How do you patch it to run 64-bit? Does it work with 10.8?
Yes they have a batch file you can run so it will run in 64bit. No need really but some use it. I don't have it.

You need to already have altcolor external dmd working and then install how I show it in the video.

make sure you name the folder in altcolor directory "spagb_100". I originally dragged the folder from Rudy's zip to altcolor without renaming it. Once i renamed it with the "_" underscore it worked for me, but as Rudy said your altcolor needs to be setup already. THANKS RUDY!!!

For some reason I can't get the pup pack or a backglass to display with this table. The only thing different I did was do the registry edit so I could use 64bit. The table loads and plays great, but I've got nothing on my BG. I checked other tables after this install and have no issues with them. Any thoughts on what I could check? Thanks
No just use my files and follow the directions. Need both puppack files in the pup videos folder
Man i dont know where i went wrong. When i load it through my 32 bit table it seems to freeze says not responding. I get the puppack to load and then it freezes. Thank you for what you do though all the other videos worked for me.

Thanks for the discord and download. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but even with the color files in both the spag100 folder in VPinmame as well as a second copy of then in Vpinmame/altcolor I just get 2 DMDs, one with 4 colors and one (slightly smaller dots, from SPA) all orange. Must be user error since I see the DMD twice and neither are using the color files.
The folder that goes in the altcolor folder needs to be named spagb_100 also hit F1 during the table and uncheck show dmd only have external checked
@@rudysarcadeThanks, the video showed the 2 altcolor files going into the VPINMAME/spagb100 folder as a subfolder called spagb100 (no underscore) right in vpinmame (no altcolor folder used). I'll give this a try and report back.

@@rudysarcade Thanks for all the help! Everything works great now including color. I should have just followed my instincts, was not sure why the color files would be next to the SPA files. I turned off the second DMD and see just the one. Only thing none of the PuP options seem to do is place the topper on the top part of the Full DMD (above the colorDMD) but you may have done some custom work (topper on backglass works fine and doesn't interfere). Debating using the awalsho FullDMD option to move the entire PuP show to the FullDMD anyway and just using the B2S on the backglass. Great job sharing all this with everyone and I love your table tweaks.

So would a VBScript error say "Can't load SPA" be a c+ issue?
So I loaded with the 2311 installer. Loading with the default 64bit i get the error listed in my original post. With 32 bit I get a dll error. Where can I find this c++ fix? mentioned mentioned?
Where do I find the C++ files you speak of (beginner downloads). I get the DLL error so that must be all I need

Hi guys. I'm getting a can't load error from the table on starting up vpin spa can't load? It's in the correct VPinMAME folder along with the dll? i should add vpin spa installs OK.

I get load spa error when I try to change the POV (load with F6) otherwise works fine! Any ideas?
This is 10.7 32bit don't try to do pov
I’m running 10.7 so perhaps POV is the wrong term. I’m trying to just trying change the view (zoom) and it gives an error.

To be honest, I haven't tried any of my tables in 32 bit since 10.7.3. I now use 10.8 64 bit for everything except these ghostbusters tables. The vpw requires 32bit, the LE version requires 32 bit as well as yours. These 3 says "can't load spa" if I use 64 bit. The rest of my tables all run in 64 bit. This is the only table that will not load the pup packs. I can make a video and email it to you or I can facetime you if you have an iphone. But for some reason, the table, dmd, and sound loads, but not the pup....@@rudysarcade
@@rudysarcade my problem ended up being that my pinup player 1.5 was in 64bit. This is my fault as I followed nailbuster’s extra added step to make it 64 bit. Once I got it back to 32 bit, made 10.8X86 my default launcher, then the pupacks worked. Your question is what made me realize this as my other older pup packs quit working.
@user-uv4rd8ti6d if updated correctly they work in 64bit also. But long as you have it working
