When he said "Dad" I laughed, cried and every emotion you can think of just flowed. RIP Sir Sean. We miss you.
"John Wayne gave us the Old West. Jimmy Stewart gave us our town. But you, Sean Connery, you gave us the world."
R.I.P Sir
You will be missed, Dr. Henry Jones.
my favorite IndianaJones movie ... grew up with the Bond movies
Quite the compliment
Yeah, such a great actor. Only he could come up with the brilliant concept of playing a Russian submarine commander with a Scottish accent.
Then Pierce Brosnan said the world is not enough. XD
"Dad" is all anyone wanted to hear him say. Thank you Indiana Solo!!!
Same👏
Indiana Solo...Hans Jones
+Rampage Clover Han*
its not han but junior shot first ....
bigoldinosaur Indiana was the name of the family dog
Harrison rarely goes out into the spotlight so he is obviously shy during this. What a great actor and super genuine. Gotta love these two great actors!
Man I can’t believe Connery is gone. RIP to the greatest of all time.
"But you, Sean Connery, gave us the world." How true. He took us to the Caribbean, Russia, Japan, Nassau, and several other places around the world as he portrayed his greatest role.
He was great in Darby O'Gill and the Little People
Ramirez was an effecte snob....
❤
Medieval Italy
0:15 "Dad?"
A simple but great starting word
This is the most comfortable I've ever seen him while talking in front of an audience.
Steven Davison omg! You are correct
Cause he want to do it. And he s feeling it. He loves Sean.
because his father was watching.
Indeed. Any time you see him on a talk show or anything of the sort there's always a vibe of: "I really don't want to be here. I am just appearing because I am contractually obligated. Are we done yet?" But here you can tell he meant every word.
Yes indeed
❤️ “I suddenly remembered my Charlemagne. Let my armies be the rocks and the trees, and the birds in the sky.” RIH Sir Sean Connery
my favorite scene of the movie
Best beginning of a speach, ever. "Dad?"
I know! bestest opening to sir Sean Connery!
Harrison Ford: Hates Han Solo
Sean Connery: Hates James Bond
Both: Love Henry Jones
Yes Harrison couldn't wait to kill off Han Solo :)
Oh don’t worry he can’t stand Indy aswell.
@@99annanic really ? that is a shame. indiana jones series and star wars series are among my favourite movies, ever. i idolised harrison ford when i was growing up, i still do.
@@99annanic last time i read he love Indy, its the one character he would always want to come back to
@@devildavin that's right. I've heard that many times too. Harrison saying it in interviews also. I don't know what the other guy was talking about.
The most memorable Indy movie of all, I'd say. A true father/son movie.
Harrison Ford: Hates Han Solo
Sean Connery: Hates James Bond
Both: Love Henry Jones
@@darrenwinner7193 actually, Conner at first said he didn't like Bond, but then he did later on in the years.
Harrison is usually so "Get a life" when it comes to the fandom surrounding any of his roles. So this is good to see, even if he appeared more out of obligation than desire.
Hard to believe these actors are only 12 years apart in age
I agree! Sean is still so lucid and quick, while Harrison is so slow and slow.
Well Sean was a real Lady’s Man.
Still is.
And people pick on Appalachia for weird families.
@@mathewgodfrey1517 Don’t tell his wife
Well put, Junior
Don't call me JUNIOR!
😹
Please, what does this always mean, this Junior?
@@erikj.2066 Thats his name, Henry Jones Junior.
Well he better get ready to lace up those boots, pack his webley revolver and don the jacket and iconic fedora. We doing it again in 2022 kiddos and I can't wait.
"John Wayne gave us the old west, Jimmy Stewart gave us our town. But you, Sean Connery, you gave us the world." Wow! Very touching and well delivered, you can tell by Harrison's genuine smile at the end of the clip that he has some serious respect and love for Sean.
It's rare to see Harrison Ford say anything emotional or appreciative of anyone. You can bet your bottom dollar dollar he meant those words.
@Mercedes Moonlight I SAID MYSELF that Harrison Ford RARELY says ANYTHING appreciative of ANYONE. I agree that he's a shitty person, which is WHY it is noteworthy he said things of praise here. Jesus Christ I couldn't have been more clear! You call me a Hollywood fan boy yet you are the one that chose to watch an AFI LIFE ACHIEVEMENT video. There couldn't be a more Hollywood event, it's literally all A-lister actors and industry heads. So maybe you're a fucking hypocrite for watching this video yourself, and maybe you're also a fucking piece of shit because you read my comment, completely disregarded it, then decided to insult an internet stranger. Not only are you rude, you're also stupid.
@Mercedes Moonlight i wonder if your comment was based on experience.
Your head keeping the turd in?
@Mercedes Moonlight you complete idiot. Allegi supported the character synopsis you gave, the exception to that was shown in THIS video you have absolutely no recourse.
Same thing I was thinking - he is so cold most of the time, annoyed he has to give an interview - but here, he was there out of respect. RIP Sir Sean Connery .
Thank god. Otherwise we’d all be depressed! The dude is clearly on Endone! Not even that is working lol
Indy: Dad?
Jones Sr: What?
Indy: DAD??
Jones Sr: What??
Indy: DAD?!?!?!?
Jones Sr: WHAT?!?!?
Still the funniest scene in the Last Crusade.
tommyt1971 head for the fire place
Haha then the wall just turns into the secret room haha 😂
It was surpassed in that movie itself
'No tickets'
@@devandeva9128 Good point but I'm still with the fireplace scene -- they got every detail from a Marx Bros scene, including the thick rope tied around them in a truly comical manner. And their comic timing was perfect!
@@tommyt1971' no tickets' was had me surprised my ass off along with my laughter 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Last Crusade is my favorite of the Indy movies. The rapport between Ford and Connery was so great!
Harrison is just an amazing badass. People : he survived a planecrash while he was the pilot, broke his legbone and starred in the no3 movie of all time in the same year. Oh, yeah, he is 72 and looks amazing. Total badass.
Have to say absolutely love Harrison Ford beautiful man
yup he even landed on the taxiway of Santa Ana airport :D
He's had quite a few aviation accidents (oops). Which "legbone" did he break? There are quite few....
So loved it when Harrison Ford referred to Sean Connery as "Dad..."
We all had a "little something in our eye".............myself in particular........go back even further, but with Harrison Ford....................I began my cinematic journey with MY DAD, with these ten words.........
"A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away............"
Oh please 😂
He was comfortable because it was from the heart,he respected him and cared about him deeply.
These two are for me, the best chemestry couple actors ever! I love sooo much Indiana Jones and the last crusade!!!
RIP Sir Sean Connery 1930-2020
.
As Harrison Ford said: "Sean Connery you gave us the world".
.
Which he did.
.
From "James Bond" to "The Name of the Rose", from "Indiana Jones" to "The Untouchables", from "The Rock" to "The Hunt for Red October" and many more iconic roles.
.
One of our most favourite and beloved actors of all time.
.
RIP Sir Sean 🙏❤️📽🎬
There was a time that only the English received the Knighthood. It’s clear QE2 has the ability to soften the load, as did Henry V111.
As an Australian it’s time to rid the monarchy and become a Republic! Have our own Head of State!
He gave us the born the movie franchises
Sean had some hilarious anti-Bond moments in Indiana Jones movie like accidentally shooting the plane rudder and dropping the lighter while tied up. Totally not a suave spy, but a bumbling archaeologist.
RIP, Sir Sean Connery. Thanks for giving the world all your tallent !
This was the most fitting tribute of the bunch. Having seen all the other tributes, this one by Harrison Ford is so ingenuous that it as if was entirey off the cuff, athough I am sure my childhood hero Harrison Ford did indeed prepare.
He remembers Sean Connery's contributions to plotlines etc. as a sign of his experience, "his passion, his wisdom" are the reason why all of them were sitting in that very room is the opinion of Harrison. This is touching an profound, it oozes respect and love.
"i thought id lost you boy" one of the best acting lines ever!
*Harrison Ford:* "And you Sean Connery gave us the world" = James Bond movies!
Sweet way of putting it, classy man Mr Ford.
So true what he said too. Those Bond movies were a window into locations all around the world.
Exacly," he's our man's man's thankyou
You know this is gonna be a classic when Harrison walks up, looks directly at Sean and goes "Dad."
I loved him so much in so many films but my personal favorite The Man Who Would Be King. His chemistry with Michael Caine was sublime. RIP.
TOTALLY AGREE! Saw that movie in the theater with my dad when it was first released. Rarely ever saw it turn up on TV. Finally bought it this past year from a streaming service 👍🏻
@@ChannelOutScotia Its great film that gets better the more you watch it.
A man's man, RIP Sir Sean.
Dad!? Only need one word
One of the best compliment from legend to legend
R.I.P Sir sean Connery
Best movie of Indie series. And because of Sean Connery. He was simply fantastic!
A legendary movie out of more reasons. Connery, Ford, and also River Phoenix
Greetings from Scotland. ..r.i.p Sean thanks for the memories. ..Scotland has lost a son today. ..
"We named the DOG Indiana!" Best line in the movie!
Rip Henry Jones Sr. I will always love you!
Wonderful speech!
It was because of their dynamics in "Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade" as to why, when I am at church, I sometimes call the kids "Junior!" A la Henry Jones St.
Harrison Ford is my Sean Connery. I remember being 10 and seeing "Raiders" in the theater. What a hero!!! What a great man!!! I'll always love Mr. Ford!
I don't think I have seen anything more touching than that.
That was an excellent tribute, well-delivered. Most of the time when actors get up at the AFI to salute each other, it rings pretty hollow. Not this one.
This stuff just gives me tears. Connery will always be a hero of enlightenment illumination.
"Enlitghenmenth illuminashion!"
I absolutely enjoyed seeing Harrison Ford and Sean Connery together in the third "Indiana Jones" film. They played well off of each other. RIP Sir Sean Connery. Thanks for your legendary performances. ❤🙏
Let my armies be the rocks and the trees, and the birds in the sky.
you jusht remembered your Charlemagne!!
David Ferguson haha 😂
Lol when he said dad😅❤️rip Sir Sean Connery
Both favorite actors
thats an awesome presentation. how great is harrison ford.
RIP Sir Sean Connery. Thanks for the memories. A true inspiration. 😢
He gave a terrific speech thank you Harrison ford heart felt and very moving.
Lots of praise only befitting Sean Connery. Well done Harrison Ford.
Its one thing to have great chemistry as couples in a movie but to be related to each other on script and bring that on screen so well its its Powerful these two are both Awesome actors
Harrison Ford, and Sean conery, great actors
He loves what he does, he sees and he brings what's important. I like how he speaks and the essence he sees...it's important..why else are we here! Great speech!
love both these men ... thank you Sir Connery for all the wonderful movies .. RiP
Ford is a respected individual. not just for his work on screen, but also off screen and even before he became an official actor. his first profession wasn't even in acting, it was in achitectual drafting and carpendry believe it or not. On top of that, he is a well known emergency helicopter pilot. His films are well known, and his name has become legendary. sean, though he has many movies on his belt, not many of them were box office smashes. And he isn't known for much else.
Sean donated the 1mill he got from Diamonds Are Forever' to an organisition in Scotland to help working class people achieve success. He purposely has always avoided to project that on a public platform because to do so was too much vanity for him.
"Dad?" ahah I could watch that a million times and still laugh
One of the best movie spies and best movie dads at the same time. RIP Sean Connery
If we're to assume that the characters they played were the exact same ages as them, it means that Henry Jones Sr. fathered Indy before he was even a teenager.
Great speech junior
that damn song follows him everywhere
"DAD?"
+Danilo Pochini That was the PERFECT opening to Harrison's salute to Sean. I saw "Last Crusade" THREE TIMES, with MY dad, who gave me MY love of the cinema. (We saw ALL THREE of the original Indiana Jones flicks together). I will always hold those movies, plus so many others, as SACRED, because......I got to see them with the man who introduced me to MY passion of cinema.......a passion that I will NEVER let go of..........MY DAD!!!!!
"Junior?"
"Yes, sir......."
@@jws1272 you're lucky to have seen those movies with your dad in theaters, must've been magical
Alexander The Great Don't Call me Junior... 😆
They always gonna be my perfect DAD and SON caracters!!!!--I love the chemistry of this excellent men...
RIP Sean. Best Bond ever.
i must say that was a very good tribute, very balanced and genuine
This was the only time I was excited about the new INDIANA JONES movie being made that had very little to do with Harrison Ford.
The three men always wanted to work together again. But the right project, and three schedules never could coincide again.
The planets aligned perfectly that one time only. But, oh, how perfect it was.
Harrison is a few sheets to the wind here. God bless him!
Definitely the best entry in the he Indiana Jones franchise and one that has never been rivaled since. The father & son dynamic between Sean Connery & Harrison Ford is what makes this movie so memorable.
I vividly remember waking up Halloween 2020 and the first thing i saw on my phone was Sean passed away. It was like i lost my granda. Henry Jones Sr. and Indys relationship always reminded me of my father and I's relationship. It was devastating to me waking up that morning. I had a busy day ahead with me working a double shift as a server and later going to a coworkers party and the only thing i could think of besides my girlfriend was how sad i was about seans death
Two great actors in one video...
God Love Ya, Mr. Connery.
Sean told Steven and George, "Look, I'm his father. Whatever he's done, I did it first, and I did it better." Did he understand the part or what?
- Cheers to 2 of the best actors and movie hero's to ever do it
clint eastwood, sean connery and harrison ford...all time best actors
harrison ford is a fucking legend
Harrison Ford needs his day under sun. AFI award for Dr Jones and Han Solo
Another star leave us , to take it's place in the sky. God bless you and good trip.
Wow, those are some amazing words to Mr. Connery!
Geez, Harrison Ford looks like a total badass here. Great speech!
OMG.... I am crying now
hes a damn good actor so much enthusiasim and power in his roles incomparison to interviewing which shows he gives it his all aand its GREAT
Love how the first thing he says is "dad" with a scolded boy's tone ahahah
The Indiana Jones with Jones was really enjoyable to watch
FORD KNEW HE WAS SPEAKING OF A GENIUS,everyone aspires to be like sean, alas there is but one 007
“How did you know she was a nazi?”
-“she talks in her sleep”
🤨
-🤐.....😏😎
Rip Sean Connery 🏴
The shit eating grin Connery gives him at that scene cracks me up.
Oh man, love that scene.
That line was great! Hahahaha!
What did you expect from James Bond?
I didn't trust her...why did you? Lol
Beautiful speech
örülök'hogy megtaláltam nagyszerű látni kedvenc szinészeket
I know WHY I love him !
Blast it all, he was my very first crush EVER !
When I was 8-year-old, I fell in love with Han followed by Indy ... And now, when I'm twenty, I still love him with the same child's deep devotion ♥
They wanted him back for Indy 4 and i think had he done it, it would have made for a much better film. Ford could have made a much younger performance.
Hell of a tribute.
how touching.... we can see in Sean's eyes how motioned he was. It would be great if they did another Indy together. Unfortunetaly in Crystal Skull we know clearly that he passed away along with Marcus Brody.......:-(
The beard makes the things looks perfect 2020
Harrison ford has always been one of my personal favorite actors of all time
not even just star wars and indiana jones. I also loved Witness, the fugitive, devils own, air force one, and blade runner.
while he does sound a bit nervous i don't really blame him. he is a good actor because of how he plays his parts in movies not how good he is at being a public speaker.
It's older films like Indiana Jones and others, that represent what Hollywood and the entertainment industry once was. A place of action, adventure, suspense and comedy. They remind us of what Hollywood once was. A place of action and adventure. Now it has become a shell of its former self. Actors should stick to what they do best. Acting.
Rip Sean Connery , Dad
Ford looks like an old sailor, just lacks the captain's hat and a pipe :D
The world, how sweet !?
They are both, probably , the 2 most nervous people when they have to speak in public, kind of funny with such awesome actors!
That's his name, Henry Jones Jr. That is my favorite line.
Watching my ultimate celeb crush dedicate a touching speech (I'm aware he's an actor) to someone I consider one of the greatest actors of all time: Amazing. No other word for it. Pure amazing.
What else did you expect from Harrison !!!!!!...
Just pure class !!!!
Great actors! Directors and Writers God bless!
I love Indiana Jones Movies and Star Wars ... Some of my favourite’s adventure movies. : )
The Last Crusade is my favorite of the Indiana Jones movies
It's phenomenal.
