If Ron Wood had stayed with the Faces, I think the Faces would have been the biggest band on the planet eventually. They had something VERY special going on.
This is one the most underated classics from the seventies ever. Everytime I hear it I'm a freshman in college again and believe me that was a LONG time ago
Yep, me too. I was a college freshman in 1971. You couldn't go anywhere without hearing Maggie May. Great song and album. It remains among my all time favorite albums.
Rod Stewart is a British rock & pop singer, songwriter with a distinctive raspy singing voice. His music career started in the 60's. Rod Stewart was in quite a few groups before going solo. He was in "The Dimensions", "Jeff Beck Group" & "Faces". He had a lot of great hits such as "Reason To Believe", "Mandolin Wind", "The First Cut Is The Deepest", "You Wear It Well", "Sailing", "Tonight's The Night", "You're In My Heart", "Rhythm of My Heart", "Hot Legs", "I Was Only Joking", "Some Guys Have All The Luck" & many more.
Man I remember when Tonites the night came out...even as a kid I got what it meant lol. But it wasn't vulgar....good tune to slow dance to. The young lady there looks just like the gals I grew up with in the 70's. All three classy ladies...ty for the video😊
Got to see Rod Stewart Live in concert. He is amazing and has a list of hits that just seem to never end. Great performer and singer. Love pretty much every song he ever wrote, sang, and recorded.
This song brings me back to Chatham Viginia and girl I knew named STAR. She loved this song so much. I saw Rod Stewart in concert Allanta GA. Loved it so much. He has brought us so many great songs.
I absolutely love Rod Stewart 💕 My very first concert when I was 10 years old in 1975 was Rod Stewart, Peter Frampton and Loggins and Messina, My sister and her boyfriend took me, I have seen him in concert 4 times and I really would love to see him 1 more time ✌️
In 1972 I had a winter job at a ski resort making snow. I had the 8 track of Rod's "Every Picture Tells A Story", and I played that thing so much going to work and coming back, that I wore it out and had to buy a new one. "Every Picture Tells A Story", "Maggie May", "Mandolin Wind", "(I Know) I'm Losing You", and "Reason To Believe" The first song and the last four on the tape. The others got fast forward(ed) through. 😂
The Guitarist in the yellow pants is Ronnie Wood. Currently a long time member of the Rolling Stones. At the time of this video he and Rod were members of the band The Faces. Over the decades Ronnie has shown up and played live with Rod at special events and concerts. My wife, GF at the time, had a crush on Rod. Like she would forget I was there if she saw him crush LOL AS a birthday gift I took her to see him in concert. For the next 3 hours she forgot I was there as she gushed like a school girl. LOL
The story of this song is interesting. Last song on the album. Not thought much of so the record company put it on the B side of a single. DJ's turned the single over and started to play it and it become a huge hit.
I enjoyed a lot of his later songs, but this period here, with the Faces, this song, "You Wear It Well", "Every Picture Tells a Story", he was hitting on it then...
Was not a big Rod Stewart fan i remember when i first heard This song in 71 also the other favorite of mine For Ever Young that's all i know of Rod Stewart......
Rockin Rod is so much fun Very raw in his early days Put Angeline Saris “Come Undone” on your female must do list lady’s. She’s a great musician with a big smile and just a sweetheart to meet
Hey Gals, Ron Wood is Playing Guitar in the Background. This is maybe the Faces. Rod & Ron 1st Band, I think. Ron Wood went on to The Rolling Stones after This band Broke up. Please do a reaction to O La La (Ron Wood sang that Song. Rod Stewart did Not like his Version because Rod Stewart CAN NOT SING. I did buy Gasoline Alley. I did not care that Rod Stewart could Not sing. He made a very good career, anyway. Old FC-2
Ronnie Wood (yellow pants) has been seen live by more people than anyone else in the world and that includes the Pope. He was in the Faces, the Small Faces and of course the Rolling Stones. As well he has done numerous collaborations on stage with other acts. Hence the world record.
*too lazy to scroll down*....this is with the amazing Faces as the back band (Ron Wood gtr, Ronnie Lane bass, Kenney Jones drums, Ian McLagan keys)...amazing band...
2:20 That Horsefly really had him reacting hah? 😏2:25 Oh dear lord, its a twitching Ronnie Wood (from The Rolling Stones) 😮Im not throwing shade, just me being a goof. I simply got inspired by parts of the title saying "Lulu loves his yellow pants!". She has a thing for men in skinny pants hah? 🤣I remember what she said when she saw Morten Harket from A-ha in leather pants. Silly remarks aside, its nostalgia to see Ron and Rod together,i have defintly listened alot to Rolling Stones thanks to my uncles and my mom influencing me growing up. And eventhough i have never been huge into Rods music,i defintly know a good handful of songs by him. But i defintly love seeing iconic musicians together, that has been in the game for a loooong time. On a sidenote,i wonder what Lulu thinks of Rods "pants game" in "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy? (Official Video) [HD Remaster]" (They actually made a tiny typo upon upload and never corrected it,as it is Do Ya*) Might be abit too much for her,i dont know🤣🤣 Back to seriousness,i love his collab with Bryan Adams and Sting when they made the soundtrack for Three Musketeers with the song All For Love!🥰
Shame you watched this version as is a mimed version on TVs Top of the Pops. Check out other live versions where Rod really gets going. Also, Stay With Me is great viewing. By the way, guy playing mandolin is faking it, he was a dj iin reality.
Love his song "Forever Young". It's perfect for a parent to a child. Also "All For Love" with Bryan Adams and Sting. "Infatuation", "Tonight's The Night", "Ooh La La" and "Young Turks" are great too.
Maggie nella canzone e una ragazza...donna di una trentina di anni , cui Rod evvr una relazione da giovane di 15 anni con cui fece sesso per la primissima volta.....molti anno dopo compose questa canzone ricordando quella donna molto più matura.
classic and iconic. That's Ron Wood in the yellow pants who 4 years later would join The Rolling Stones - a great career move!!
If Ron Wood had stayed with the Faces, I think the Faces would have been the biggest band on the planet eventually. They had something VERY special going on.

I hate people like you... why do you call one of the best-selling singles in THE HISTORY OF MUSIC underrated? you're crazy?
Definitely not underrated! I’m 60 and have been a life long Rod fan.. my 3 thirty something kids love him too
Yep, me too. I was a college freshman in 1971. You couldn't go anywhere without hearing Maggie May. Great song and album. It remains among my all time favorite albums.
You are incorrect. Google the song. It was added to the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2017.
The studio version had an acoustic introduction that makes a good song even better . Lulu might be lucky enough to have that version on her album .
I hope so will have to listen to that album and see.
Glad to hear your stories and glad your sharing the best music ever made !
Glad you enjoy it!
I saw Rod 3 times in concert. The last I was on the front row. I had all of his albums. 💕
The Band is the Faces, formed when 3 members of the Small Faces, another big band in the UK joined with Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood.
Lulu, absolutely love your reaction! Glad to see you enjoying yourself so much!
Rod Stewart is Legend his catalogue is Amazing i especially love his time in the "Faces"

Can't believe how young he looked then
This song brings me back to Chatham Viginia and girl I knew named STAR. She loved this song so much. I saw Rod Stewart in concert Allanta GA. Loved it so much. He has brought us so many great songs.
I had "Every Picture Tells A Story" on 8-track. Cassettes were the next big thing.
I love Lulu's reaction
The Mandolin played by one of the World's greatest exponents of that delightful instrument, the multi-talented,er..,John Peel...
John Peel had some great taste. It's a shame that he died of a heart attack, but, Machu Pichu? It could have been worse.
I absolutely love Rod Stewart 💕 My very first concert when I was 10 years old in 1975 was Rod Stewart, Peter Frampton and Loggins and Messina, My sister and her boyfriend took me, I have seen him in concert 4 times and I really would love to see him 1 more time ✌️
Oh, the memories! Lulu is a Star.

Added it to our list.
Hey,...We can see Ron Wood on guitar before he started playing with the Stones
Radio DJ John Peel makes a guest appearance here pretending to play the Mandolin-he is the one sitting down & was not part of the band.
Oh wow, that's cool.
the band he was in is called faces and they are playing here . The guitar player is Ronnie Wood who plays in the rolling stones

ONE OF MY ABSOFREEKINGLUTLY FAVORITE SONGS EVER
Look how young they are.
"Rhythm of My Heart" is my personal fav! He made a number of great tunes though including Maggie May.
Love rod...seen him 3 times live and awesome every time...try Stay With Me. My all time fav by him...old and awesome
This song is great. The video of him is when he was young.
Momma knows best!
Rod Stewart holds the guinness book of world records for the largest concert ever with 4.2 million people

So sorry you lost your brother Donna the pain will eventually subside the memories will remain ....
Ron Wood on guitar before he joined The Rolling Stones.!
I’ll be seeing him in concert in August up in Lake Tahoe! 🎶
Awesome
I enjoyed a lot of his later songs, but this period here, with the Faces, this song, "You Wear It Well", "Every Picture Tells a Story", he was hitting on it then...

I’m not real crazy about Rod Stewart, but this is one of his songs that I do like a lot.
I love you kiddos 💗
OMG Lulu looks just like my daughter when she was young. I mean just like her.
This song was added to the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2017. It has many accolades. Google the song.

Ah, forgot Ron Wood played on this.

Well he was in The Small Faces very briefly I suppose before they dropped 'Small' from their name.
*too lazy to scroll down*....this is with the amazing Faces as the back band (Ron Wood gtr, Ronnie Lane bass, Kenney Jones drums, Ian McLagan keys)...amazing band...
Rod was an ordinary bloke with a bit of talent that couldn't believe his own luck! The band was all star, wood and Laine at the fore
Did y'all know that Lulu favorite soda Dr. Pepper relocated from Plano to Frisco Texas. Later take care
Yes, I had heard that.

We will add that to our list.
got to show the next generation this stuff... music just is not the same now
Maggie May was a cougar. 😂
Or a cradle robber.
This song is about an affair with a school teacher when he was at school...
how the hell did Ronnie Wood play left handed twice in that song
Best advice ever was when Ronnie woods told Rod Stewart to stop trying to play soccer and get to singing
Even better when you consider this was the B side of the record.
You can see Ronny Wood still with Rod Stewart, few years later he would be with Rolling Stones.
Don’t you ladies think to rename yourselves Gen3 or 3gens? That’d get Donna in the title too. Enjoy your videos!
We asked Donna when we changed the name the first time and she didn't want to be in the title lol.
Shame you watched this version as is a mimed version on TVs Top of the Pops. Check out other live versions where Rod really gets going. Also, Stay With Me is great viewing. By the way, guy playing mandolin is faking it, he was a dj iin reality.
You three young ladies are so adorable, how about going on a group date with me one night? 😉
Love his song "Forever Young". It's perfect for a parent to a child. Also "All For Love" with Bryan Adams and Sting. "Infatuation", "Tonight's The Night", "Ooh La La" and "Young Turks" are great too.
