Kinda funny that this song is now old enough to count as nostalgia itself.
Bro 😭 ❤️🔥 Exactly!!!
No kidding. This man has a whole discography for my nostalgia from being a youngin
"Fire when you speak but no warmth in your vocals". Levels people, levels...
That one stood out to me as well.
Chur
He said vocools

BARS
this song is so underrated.
to bad that those are military casualties in iraq and not civilian because over thousands of people die every year in iraq
Lupe is so underrated! Facts... #onlygrindwithlikeminds
Lupe’s whole career is underrated
Well your rude because this is a really old song
@Estela Lopez I'd rather it with this don't imo
Lupe Fiasco's underrated. Straight up underrated
Heck yeah
+Ian Sanchez agreed, this track should have 100 million views+
+Londeezeytv I think he means underrated in more of a Hip Hop credential way rather than how many views and how popular the song is.
+Justin Roberts It's just numbers dude. A lot more people have have read 'Snow White' compared to 'Animal Farm' yet both sides would agree they've read the better book. And you can't really blame them... some people just like simple stuff. :D
+infernus42254 Animal Pharm
We need music like this to come back.
its the artist that can make good tunes like this!!!
This song was so happy back then and still is
Good clean rap, you don't find this to often nowadays. Thank you Lupe.
Thank u Michael
@Estela Lopez ?
Thank u Lupe
That's some rare rap u got mann
Look up Miss Independent by Pop Stunna
Lupe is keeping rap alive, it's sad that songs that say nigga a million times get more views than this. Never change Lupe.
Lupe says nigga in this song...
I said rappers who say nigga a MILLION times. Lupe doesn't do that
Problem is, no one says nigga a million times and Lupe's beats are utter wack.
True. He's good at controlling himself though. Like on his early mixtapes coming up, he would use the word nigga a good amount of times. Then in Lasers (even though it was forced), I'm pretty sure he didn't use the word once.
Harnoor Singh I think he said nigga in The Show Goes On, but that's it. Then again, saying "nigga" a million times doesn't make you a bad rapper.
It's a shame the radio doesn't play songs like this more often
that's why you have to buy it and play it,.,.
ya already did been playin the shit out of it in my car
Only reason I heard of this song is cause of the radio.
Aidan Pierce uhhhh yeah me too. so shame on the radio stations for not playing this... (akward face)
Eli Diaz well if you want to be a smart ass i said "songs like this" not this song and i said "more often" not at all
I’ve been listening to this song back in 2013 and now coming back...Wow I didn’t realize how underrated this was!
Same here sister!!!
Coming back to this sounds like this song was kinda inspired by Kanye West “Family Business” To me anyway lol
Same. I discovered this song in 2014 and whenever I listen I feel like im back in those days 💕
fr fr
"your future is somebody's else past" damn I felt that.
Can we just appreciate how Ed Sheeran executed his part in this dope track! So much nostalgia!
Lupe is one of the few rappers that still has meaning behind his words in this generation.
lupe, wu tang, dr dre, eminem?
gonzfsk keywords here are "this generation"
its obvious that you dont listen to underground shit
Pita Spud i don't get it. they still make music all of them. all have recent albums.
Actually I do listen to underground.such as Felly, phora, and immortal technique and many more. But I was referring to mainstream. Also learn how to read because I said "Lupe is ONE OF THE FEW rappers that still has meaning". So calm down hard assess
Man, what a beautiful song, just makes you think of simpler times, full of nostalgia and memories now..
Nope, sorry, though I do have a ps3 and a Wii and some other systems I am too lazy to name lol. If you wanna get in contact with me I do have a kik (username: aerokinesis) and Gmail :).
That.... makes two of us lol.
That nostalgia bringing me to tears rn damn😔😪
Say that again….😅
Wisdom, lyrics and flow that's hard to see, and "warmth in his vocals". World needs more of this. Shout out to the old schoolers. To those that remember when we more appreciated each other, instead of assuming and harboring negativity towards one another, and grew up in one of the best times in American history.
I remember walking home from school when I was 12 listening to this song every day and now I just turned 20 a month ago, so many memories from this tune, wish I never grew up 😭
Happy belated. Enjoy 20! I wish I could be 20 again..
Wait until you're 38yrs old and run u run across this song again (me today lol) thinking back to when you were 30...then from there, u think back to when you were 20 and first heard Lupe, and he became your favorite rapper ever!!!
It's a beautiful beautiful thing.
Weird that this was not more popular
Atlantic stopped promoting Lupes music that much after LASERS
@@ptrcrispyywa it sucks cuz of politics and them signing trash rappers that only do trap or drill music lupe would a be Goat rn if he was born in the 80s/90s with his rap career its sad nowadays real music doesnt get air play only ratchet shit gets promoted
Lupe back with another banger. The streets of the Chi, and the streets all over definitely need this 1 right now.
Leaving this here, so I’ll be reminded by it in the future
How does this not have 100 million+ views by now.
i have to listen to his songs twice: once to hear, another to listen
then a third, fourth, and fifth listen to study
This is the most intellectual comment ive ever come across! I salute! 8yrs later lmao
2 of my fav. Artists. I love how ed sheeran is so white when he tries to nod. It's soo cute
“To realize your future is somebody else’s past”
One of the best lines I’ve heard.
One of the best songs ever
Who’s else is here after Lupe becomes University Professor?
2018 and this track just gets you into that nostalgic moment.. Big ups to the collaboration..
These are the kind of songs that they need to play oon the radio. Just saying..
i agree.
+Kawaii Kitten Yea, Get rid of that sex and drugs shit
Micky Does Gaming Yess
+かなで橘堕天使~ Kanade Shiri This did play on the radio.
yep it sure did play on the radio lol your to young to remember
Still here 2024
Lupe has Ascended... he joined a select few... you can't see it or hear it unless your Ascending youself... A living Buddha... among us... Bless.
Please explain?
I can't, you need to figure it our for yourself, Seeker ;)
If you mean that weird feeling you.get when listening to his music then I got you lol
www.greatdreams.com/masters/ascended-masters.htm
***** he's a true conscious rapper
I didn't realize how old this song was already. damn. I'm getting old
4 replays in a row... still going :)
He is one of the most under-rated rappers of all time. Forget Lil Wayne, Drake and all that other meaningless shit, this is music right here.!
*****
i´d say that atlantic is big enough label. it has acts like b.o.b., bruno mars, ed sheeran, paramore, skrillex, wiz khalifa, trey songz, sean paul etc. who are well-known in the mainstream enough.
go listen to hopsin.
he's not really underrated, he's simply under-advertized. his overall message of knowledge, positivity, self reflection, questioning authority, caring about the younger generation, etc. is not something that those controlling the music industry want to be heard by everyone. they can't have everyone questioning the nonsense they are told to believe every day without eventually encountering some problems.
Tyler Durden He has 50,000,000 views here on UA-cam, so no. For that amount of people to know his name, he is not under advertised nor under known, he is underrated because no one considers him to be one of the best if not *the* best of all time.
no hes not. this video got freakin 3 million views. Theres tons of rappers more overrated then lupe.
"Takes a long time too realize ur past is someone else's future" true story
*your future is somebody's elses past
Lupe Fiasco is a creative artist, genius genius genius the man is an intelligent genius.
+jatniel perez It's called a sample you bafoon
Articulate Muslim man right here! 🙌
I'm just popping in after 9yrs and in need of some Old School Love... ❤
This is what real Hip Hop sounds like
why because there is a singer lol
This is hip-pop. Ed Sheeran's on it lmao
At least we can all agree it's a good song
No such thing as "real" hip hop.
Yep
I love rappers like Lupe that actually rap about real life situations instead of money , fame & Ect.
Damn ed makes this song sound so good
Lupe did that
I promise you'll that this song never get old.. wassup old school lover..
it's good to see ed sheeran coming back ^-^
It's good to see Lupe coming back!!
TylerTheHorse both of them are really great performers. ^-^
neither of them have gone out of fashion so i dont know how they can be coming back
joe henry well I mean making more songs.
***** ah, I know whatcha mean.
"fire when you speak but no warmth in your vocals" young rappers and the young population for that matter should be listing to lupe. Such a refreshing track.
I love Lupe Fiasco's music because you think about every line he sings.
I really wonder how BTS keep finding these underated song.. VMIN graduation song...😻😻
Omg I feel so nostalgic listening to this song.
Return of the L E G E N D!
I hope so, The Great American Rap Album was not that great to be real honest, and i like Lupe..
***** hopefully yes, give me that F&L1/The Cool type of rap that Lupe was spitting back then, and only then will I be happy
Spectacularpooh I'd say the production is what made it not great. Same thing with Lasers, except the production is Lasers was actually terrible.
The Tensai point made..
Spectacularpooh well in an interview he said it wasn't about the album being "great" it was more about American phenomenon
seeing all these comments from so many years ago feels like walking into the past
Clean rap is rare to find now..coz most raper always rap about drug n etc.
clean rap was never easy to find
theroadrage92 Unless you were to find a cover by some little kid.
theroadrage92 Contrary it's very easy to find. Thematically speaking many songs are clean.
***** DID SOMEONE SAY RAPE?
But Lupe does rap about drugs. Listen to Fast Money, Hustlaz Song, Failure, and there is many more on his mixtapes before F&L.
This is not Lupe Fiasco selling out but rather Lupe giving a contrast of the newer generations morals vs older generation morals. The idea that they could leave their doors unlocked, trust, faith, and loyalty meant more to a generation that could rely on someone to come through. 1960s is old school love because the Black body came together against anti-black violence, anti-imperialist protests against Vietnam, and even the stuff I said above. Give me that old school love right now...
Darius White Tell me more
Keep tradition alive. That's old school love. Its hard to teach who wont learn now and days. But thats what life is about. Leaving behind what u learned.
ur future is someone else's past...dats dope!
in a week or two watch this song blow up and be everywhere
as it deserves
Makes me think about my childhood and the people I used to hang out with and the things I went through all those years. Really gets to me. Great song.
lets go back in time to when the good vibe music where actually better
I’m still here lupe !! Huge fan one day I really hope to open up for u you’re my favorite lyricist even in 2024 you’ve inspired me to be myself and a thinker thank you so much !
We don't search for old songs ,We search for old memories 😢
i miss old lupe with his jazzy /hip hop beats , back then he had his own distinctive sound.
Listened to this 9yrs ago.. And only discovering now that the clip is from Coolio and Chike !!! You will learn some everyday !
You know everything is a lie when they give you your top 10 rappers and Lupe ain't in it
Ed Sheeran is definitely one of the most underrated singer/songwriters on this planet
It's crazy how Lupe doesn't even like this record but it hits so close to home for so many other people
right, like this song hits me right in the feels. all the problems chicago is facing and this song comes out to like save the chi. regardless if Atlantic made lupe drop this track im glad because this is still a deep song
Lupe is classic when can he come back some one take that trader Drake off radio
He said himself that he is past the point of being on the radio. What he focuses on is putting out dope music that follows his own sound.
How is drake a traitor though?
Ricky Leon
He said himself that he is past the point of being on the radio. What he focuses on is putting out dope music that follows his own sound.
How is drake a trader though?
ShootEmUpStar Canada Toronto hes from not USA that make s rap boring
Brings back memories. Gosh it's so crazy how fast years goes by. I used to love this song and would replay it over & over ha.
This is what Love is called, so innocent and heart touching.. Aaaahhhhhhhh
This piece of music right here made me respect both artists even more! Both being themselves and making an exellent song together
still hitting hard
He hit every aspect of Hip-Hop in this...classic
If this album turns anything like the cool, Lupe is back
Yo Lupe I'm sorry not enough people appreciate ya work fam. this shit is a classic
"it takes a long time, it happens so fast and realize that your future is somebody else's past."
FACTS! 💯 🔥
We need you back Lupe
I slept in this song for so long
I didn't like that song at first... But I love it now! Lupe is a beast!!! Best MC alive... So much love, hope, and peace in his lyrics! I've never seen a artist with that level of integrity, commitment, and determination to give a better life to people! Lupe Fiasco as Peace Nobel Prize!!!
Lupe and Ed.. what a great combo! Love em both!!
PLEASE TELL ME WHO STILL HERE IN 2022?? HIS MUSIC INFLUENCES 🎶 🎵 ALL HE IS A LEGEND PLEASE GIVE HIM HIS FLOWERS 💐 NOW
Lupe Fiasco one of the best lyrical rappers/ rappers period of all time. Extremely underrated. He's just not as big cuz he's not a industry puppet like Drake. Lupe Fiasco a real hip hop legend.
Never heard Ed Sheeran sing before, and he sounds pretty amazing. And Lupe still great as usual.
Can I cry real quick?
It's a real shame that "23" has 125,610,756 views and this only has 284k....Props to Lupe for always bringin heat.
How do I not know this song?? This is a blessing to my ears❤❤...Thank you🙏
Oh my God....When this song came in I was like WOW... Thank you Lupe
lupe is a hybrid between mainstream and underground rapper. He doesnt rap only about sex alcohol and weed
This is one of those songs you can put on repeat at any time just to brighten your day :)
"and realize your future is somebody elses past" Deep!
The passion in Ed's voice is to die for and Lupe went in as usual. Great CoMbO I promise :)
I forgot this didn’t existed:( I was just on Spotify and this popped up and instantly knew the lyrics from when I was little
bro the nostalgia slapped me in the mouth as soon as i heard the chorus
Lupe might be the best rapper now and ever as far as quality of message. He always says so much that needs said, much respect.
It's a shame that this only has 6 million views.
True hip hop! Salute to Lupe fiasco
what do you mean by "true" hip hop. just because its deep?
CoveFashion_za it has message
Destiny Jones plenty of hip hop has a message, doesnt make it "true"
CoveFashion_za This is true not only for the message, but for the way the music sounds. Just like the good ol' golden days of Hip Hop, man.
I love both of these talented artists. Wish there were more out there like them. Now and days talent is over looked by our generation because it seems like all people care about is money, drugs, and "bitches".
One of the realest rappers out there today, i have much much respect for lupe, he doesn't rap about sex, drugs, etc. He's down to the point and talks about stuff that you can relate to, and stuff you can understand, he's honestly kind of inspiring, there's not many rappers like him
high school memories pouring in..what a time
Such a chill song.
Its always great to see when two talented singers get on a track together
I don't think I've ever heard Ed's voice sound so sexy in a song
🥲🥲🥲🥲
you got to be old school to relate the now a days ain't vibing to these classic
Pov: this song randomly popped up out of nowhere and now you're going down memory lane 😌🔥💯
This is diffidently "Old-School Kanye" inspired.. I thought I'd never hear that sound again... This is hands down my favorite song of the year... This songs gives the same feeling as when I first herd Ye's "Late Registration", "College Dropout" or "Graduation"... Thank you Lupe, you obviously get it ...... It's hard times for a lot of good people out there...We need more inspiration music...
give logic a listen too hes alot like old school ye his young sinatra mixtapes remind me alot of college dropout-era kanye and that style
People give Ye way too much credit. He's a talented producer. his lyrical skill takes a few steps down from that and then his personality nose dives from there. I've never heard Lu sound anything remotely close to Kanye. That's pretty much a diss to Lu. I know you didn't mean it that way, but Ye is super over rated. Lupe is legitimately in the Legends conversation, Kanye is in the legendary producer conversation...as a rapper though, he's aight.
This.is.all based on a opinion my friend.... Your speaking to a die-hard fan of Kanye.... I love Lupe, but non of his albums could ever be compared to any Kanye album before Yezzus... Not to mention, I bet 80% of Lupe fans didn't know who he was before "Touch The Sky"... Kanye is terrible with lyrical content now...However, with the exception of "Yeezus"- Kanye solo album has always changed the sound of Hip-hop during its time of release...
...Kanye has inspired an entire generation of Hip-hop...Think about it , whos on top? Drake & Kendrick, right?... Drake said that "Ye is his.biggest inspiration, musically." And Kendrick.thinks Kanye is.the leading innovator for future artists...Kanye is'nt overrated, hes just falling off..... take time and go back and listen to "college dropout" or "graduation"... the lyrical content from his first 5 albums are great.... Have you never heard "All falls down"?
bum socket logic is dope
Chris Sheppard I respect your opinion, however I'm a die hard hip hop fan...Kanye isn't the one who brought a focus on Lyricism back to Hip hop (however brief). Drake is an OK rapper, Kendrick Lamar is good but highly over rated. But that's my opinion...the masses thought 50 Cent was lyrical 10 years ago. Lil Wayne was the top Dog 7 years ago. Kanye has been highly regarded by the masses since 2004. The masses aren't good judges of Hip Hop music, they are great judges of pop music. In which case, those 3 guys are legends.
As far as Lupe before Touch the Sky, he was putting out mixtapes that became the reason he is considered by cats in the know to be among the greatest to do it. And unless you know the history of HOW he got on Touch the Sky, as in "why Kanye asked him to be on it" then this is not a real hip hop conversation.
Kanye has great production, great song structure and all of his albums pre-Yezus sounded great sonically. Lyrically, he's never been a top tier guy. Lupe has questionable beat selection and with the exception of Lasers can't arrange an album to flow sonically, but when it comes to the bars, he is easily the best dude doing it right now on a mainstream level. I don't know every underground act to say he's the best period, but Kanye isn't winning lyricist of the year ever.
This song is tight. It is in line with his "Superstar" tracks etc.. Hip Hop needs hits, that is not full of getting fucked up, or having more $$$ then the next guy, or dissing others. There is plenty of room on any given album to put that crap out there. Honestly, this is what I love about Hip Hop, time spent on smooth beats, positive messages are a bonus... Rap/Hip Hop and Rock (and Roll) are a good marriage, this song goes further to prove that. Haters gonna hate!
VMIN - 95graduation ❤️❤️
me too
same
I love your picture 😂😂😂cute picture of Jackson
I'm Soonyoung, call me Soon same

WHATTA CLASSIC SONG AND SO UNDERRATED
