Lupe has always been one of the realest lyricists in the game. Genre does not matter. His talent is unmatched. Thanks for blessing my soul with the words of yours. Forever a fan.
I first found Lupe Fiasco when I was 9 years old. At first I just loved the beat and the way his voice sounded. But as I grew older, I gradually began to understand his lyrics and what he was talking about. Those words had a giant affect on me. I got more and more of his songs and enjoyed the hell out of them (This one being my favorite). Lupe is one of the few rappers that doesn't rap about stupid things (Drugs, money, women, etc.) But instead talks about things that actually matter like social and political injustices. It's too bad that the average listener doesn't comprehend his songs, because he is extremely underrated. To me he is the best rapper to ever live... Better than Cole, Kendrick, any of those guys. They would all be eaten alive. Lupe isn't afraid to speak what's on his mind. No matter how big the issue or how negative the feedback will be. And I have the maximum level of respect for this man and his music.

I found the lyrics to the song very interesting and well written. Fiasco was able to discuss many ideas, and how they relate to everyday economics. I used this song to write about the Economic concepts for my ECON 105 class, and received A.
That song is one of Lupe's masterpiece... every single line is so meaningful, so powerful... Food and Liquor 2 is by far my favorite album of Lupe... Lu reconciliated me with Hip Hop in 2006, when it was too materialistic, misogynistic, promoting gangsterism... onelove.
