ZamaBomvu ngubane Most meaningful? I remembered the UA-cam comments back in 2012 and they said 2000 to 2008 are the most meaningful songs, I mean what am I suppose to believe if they keep saying music was better 2 years ago all the time, that's not even so old.
ZamaBomvu ngubane If you look at this on an overall scale then the largest amount of 'meaningful songs' (songs that were about something other than shallow shit like getting laid, making money or general silliness that makes little to no sense) were definately written in the 1960's and 1970's. Even the 1980's had a higher general message value in their songs than what we get today.
6 of us from my choir were chosen to sing this in a competition years ago. They chose us cause apparently we had ‘powerful’ voices to match the high energy of the song. And still to this day, it’s one of my favourite songs I’ve ever performed and gives me such nostalgia to happier times. Oh and we won the competition :)
So awesome. I remember performing so many times as just another voice in the choir, but still feeling the power and energy rolling like a wave through the group as we sang together... I may never have been outstanding, but together we made a mighty sound. Glad you have such great memories of not only choir, and your performance, and winning, but also this song. :):):)

This song has always given me the chills.... It just hits that kinda way when you know exactly what that feeling is... most nights I don't know anymore.
yeah, no music today compares to music of the 00s ... this album was one of the last great albums in the sort of passion, emotion based pop-rock stuff that was super popular in the early to mid 00s (this album dropped in 2012, I believe)... I struggle to find music I connect with nowadays, and it sucks.. I know it still exists. it's just that you really have to hunt for it. it's not in the mainstream... this entire album is really great though... and they were amazing live on new years eve in new orleans several years back. such a memory standing out in the rain watching them perform.
@@stephanieesea i’ll check it out. so far, the only modern stuff i like is like bring me the horizon (and they were around during the 00s.. i just happen to like their recent stuff too)… and some random artists like poppy, for example. xD but i don’t have the money for subscription services, so i find it difficult to find new music. any recommendations are appreciated, so thanks. :)

There needs to be a Broadway musical based on this album. It’s SO theatrical, it’s incredible. Fun released just two studio albums, and Some Nights is near-perfect. One of my all-time favorites. It has a theme, too, that could be translated to a stage show. I just desperately want this lighting-in-a-bottle musical moment to be appreciated by new generations again and again. It’s such a great time capsule for the early 2010s, yet so very unique. It even uses auto-tune in a good way. I love it all so much. This song is so fun to scream-sing in your car.
As a combat soldier that fought in several theaters and retired from the US Army this song literally speaks to me and at the age of 71 I still don't know what I stand for.

The first time we heard this group was late at night on Saturday Night Live. Ron and I immediately ordered the CD. Every song on it was, and still is, unforgettable; Songs that bring us to attention, that make us alive, that make us question and inspired. But this one - "Some Nights" is an incredible anthem which reaches out to the core of anyone whose has ever pondered/wondered about their existence. The video is beyond rattling, it is hauntingly visceral.
To anyone reading this, please don't take your loved ones for granted. I lost my mom in May, and even though I was there for her through her whole battle with cancer, and always reminded her of how much she was loved and appreciated... Every day I think of things I wish I could tell her. And although I know she understood how we all felt about her, I feel like I didn't say it enough, My point is, just go tell your parents you love them. Or your siblings, or your spouse, or whoever you are closest to in life. Because you may not get the chance to say it tomorrow. Make sure everyone around you knows that you love them.
I've been losing alot quit lately my grandma died from cancer in April and one of my friends sons committed suicide and I haven't seen her since so I know the feeling and I'm sorry for you

"May 17. We awoke with the dread of knowing that the day would be spent in battle, yet savoring the dread in case it be our last morning. Our commander tried to buoy our spirits with encouraging words, but found himself asking again and again what he stood for, and sowed more confusion than relief. The fighting was long and fierce, and lasted into the night, but at last the battle ebbed and we stood victorious, thanks to our commander's strong singing voice and the intrepid piano player." - Elisha Hunt Rhodes

The amount of emotion, energy and passion that is put into this music is inspiring.
Yes!!!
yeah, no music today compares to music of the 00s ... this album was one of the last great albums in the sort of passion, emotion based pop-rock stuff that was super popular in the early to mid 00s (this album dropped in 2012, I believe)...
Once I did a poo at a service station on the m1, same kinda feeling..............

I agree! At 58 I might be the oldest fan! I "discovered" them this past year. And found out that they were Big many years ago. Still, I Love Their Songs!! Raw Talent!!

And although I know she understood how we all felt about her, I feel like I didn't say it enough,
My point is, just go tell your parents you love them. Or your siblings, or your spouse, or whoever you are closest to in life. Because you may not get the chance to say it tomorrow. Make sure everyone around you knows that you love them.
SkilesHasFun im sorry for your lost but why are you posting this here?

Well, that is it guys, that is all
Five minutes in and I'm bored again
Ten years of this, I'm not sure if anybody understands
This one is not for the folks at home;
Sorry to leave, mom, I had to go
Who the fuck wants to die alone all dried up in the desert sun?
My heart is breaking for my sister and the con that she called "love"
When I look into my nephew's eyes...
Man, you wouldn't believe the most amazing things that can come from...
Some terrible nights... ah...
Oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, oh,
Oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, whoa, oh, oh
The other night you wouldn't believe the dream I just had about you and me
I called you up but we'd both agree
It's for the best you didn't listen
It's for the best we get our distance... Oh...
It's for the best you didn't listen
It's for the best we get our distance... Oh...
matur nuwun mas
i mean the lyrics are in the description
I have memories of riding home from school with a group of friends and all of us would be singing this song with every ounce of love in our hearts. I would do anything to get those moments back.
You'll never loose those memories.
Whats stopping you from doing it now
You just did....
What year was this
