This song has aged so well. First thing I did when I bought my first complete board after almost 20 years was ask my buddy “you still kick-push?” We hit the basketball courts at my nearby junior high and just talked shit and caught up on some flat ground. Amazing song.
As a metal head skater back in around 06 stumbled upon this song skimming thru the channels on t.v, It immediately grew on me and it's at the point when I became immersed with hip hop, and underground. This track is what initiated into the hip hop environment.
When you think about it, this song is a great metaphor for life. 🤔 You "kick" at life when it puts heavy obstacles in your way, since legs are the largest muscle groups within the human body. If you are in a leadership role, at times you will "push" your personal wants & desires to the side in order for the greater good, i.e., caring for your family & community as a whole. During the moments when life is smooth & chill, you are able to "coast" and enjoy the feeling of a cool breeze on your face. Lupe Fiasco, the poet... Dope! 💯.

Legendary
For real. Absolute Legend 💯
It's 2023, and I came back here for nostalgia. Lupe Fiasco, is real hip hop. He lets the bars and music, speak for itself. Real legend! ❤
When I was a little kid I was terrified of riding a skateboard and didn't want to learn how to.
But this was my favorite song and I would always imagine some guy skating till night fall on the streets of my hometown because he loved it so much.
Didn't know that dude that I imagined was me after all these years. It's just so crazy and surreal.
Curious of your age now?
truffl3huffl3 I’m curious now too lol 😂
The song is about selling drugs bud.
The song is not all about selling drugs, why would they show people skate boarding. You have no idea what you're talking about.
Bud
Definitely a fucking classic I absolutely love this song....this song speaks to my heart
now this is what i call nostalgia
Fiasco claimed that the label traveled to the Philippines to find the artist whose song “Kick, Push” samples - singer Celeste Legaspi’s “Bolero Medley” - and purchase the rights to the song.
“They flew down to the Philippines…and bought the entire record from her,” he said. “They actually own the song that ‘Kick, Push’ is sampled from.”🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Yeah but they did it to spite him because they didn't have any input on the song at that point
@@versatilethearcane Input in other words.. No investment.. No publishing and the song was doing so well without a label push
Facts !!! i'm from the philippines
WHO GIVES AF

This song has aged so well.
First thing I did when I bought my first complete board after almost 20 years was ask my buddy “you still kick-push?”
We hit the basketball courts at my nearby junior high and just talked shit and caught up on some flat ground. Amazing song.

As a metal head skater back in around 06 stumbled upon this song skimming thru the channels on t.v, It immediately grew on me and it's at the point when I became immersed with hip hop, and underground. This track is what initiated into the hip hop environment.
juarez122191 Lu is the best lyricist in the game.

LUPE A LEGEND, ANY ALBUM KIND MOVIE BEFORE KENDRICK DO IT.. NO HATE, JUST SAYING...
This is a timeless classic that puts us at ease in a time of sheer chaos..
Dope! 💯.
I'm going to revive boom bap and create amazing music for older generation and younger generations to come together,
Bett
