This was a beatiful game. A very unique concept, great graphics & artwork for its time filled with secerts. We used to play it as kids & I think we finished it once or twice. A very challenging game!
Suddenly remembered this game and had to see this for the nostalgia factor. That "Cya!" at 1:49, I still say it all the time to this day in the same tone and never knew why until I saw this and remembered. I do remember this game being particularly hard and always thought losing health on punching walls was pretty punishing. But I guess my little kid brain learned and adapted and actually beat the game, and again for the good ending. And the music for the final boss really pumped me up too. I guess that's why I'm a sucker for video games OSTs nowadays.
Not really. Just remember that the rat is really useful and you need to look for items. There's usually more than 1 way to get past something, so punching an object and losing life should be a last resort.
@@inputfunny While I agree. When the game was first released, the game was super hard because we were playing blindly. The internet was garbage in those days and you either have to sub to a magazine and good luck getting specific games featured or go out and socialize in arcade stores to get various tidbits about the game. As a kid who played and finished this game when it released it feels like playing Dark Souls in restricted SL1 (level 1, no summons). Nowadays you have have emulators that have savestates and other tools that you can use to your advantage and of course walktroughs that will hold your hand. The game has become too easy nowadays no more challenge to play it unlike when it first released in 1995.
@@roahnosh I disagree. I beat the game without save-states and without looking at walkthroughs a month or two ago. The difficulty is overrated just like "Super Ghouls n' Ghosts" on the SNES.
I got this one for PC at a Toys R US. It was marked down several times, and they finally had it for a penny. I still remember buying it and definitely got my money's worth.
@@Mikgwerd It's a good game dude. Why do you comment on your dissatisfaction and get on fire saying it's not funny? I can tell you're a Sony fan, and you have bad taste. PD: Ñ

Now that this game is getting a live-action movie based off of it, I wonder just how much it's going to lean into the comic book aesthetic that makes it such a unique game. The Sonic movies have shown us that Sega CAN do the movies justice, they just need to have very clear steps to achieve their goals in making them for fans of the franchise and newcomers alike. Needless to say, I have (perhaps too optimistic) high hopes.
it was this and vectorman that would let sega secure there victory in the console war.............................................then donkey kong country came out.....
I played this game a few times and never got close to the end, but good game though. The one part that sucks is you slightly take damage when you punch objects or shove them. 🎮😅🙁
@@longplayarchive I understand, please do a splatterhouse gameplay, none of the arcades just the remastered 1 that came out in the year 2010 for ps3 and Xbox if that's applicable

Probably the coolest game of my childhood... Gotta love Sega for stuff like that! An absolute masterpiece!!!

Never played this before, I enjoy both comic books and video games and it looks very cool.
I loved this game! Thanks for posting this, I never could beat it.
This game was so crazy hard. Then again, I was like 8 when I played it...
I get you, dude. Played this alot and I can tell you even this dude takes alot of long cuts, he zigs when he could've/should've zagged
I remember playing this game and it was hard
Ditto here.
it's not hard this guy just sucks at playing it
@@derick3482to be fair i remember this being hard when i was like 8 years old 😭

One of my Personal favs. Played it on the PS2 and It got me into Beat ‘em ups and fighting games
I know this one. Great looking game.
It really feels like we’re in a comic.
The credits has special thanks to "The House" for the best lamb in town.
That is so sweet!
God this game was hard as fuck
Only 2 try’s lol
No lie

The memories of playing this game...😌
the memories of failing at this game :P
Man I was just a kid when I played this. And sum 30 years later I'm realizing that I don't think I ever made it to Episode 2. haha
This brings back great memories of childhood
This game was brutal. One life, no continues, and hitting barrels and crates damages you, which was nuts
the 🐀 became so handy , this brings so much memories!
i had this game on my parents pc and it took me 25 years to figure out the name of it after seeing it at an arcade last night
"and he has a rat. And he FINDS things for you" will live in my head forever because of this game
This game is pretty interesting and cool. I always had a decent time playing it on Sonic Mega Collection Plus for the original Xbox.
🎮 Comment
That’s exactly how you imagine a comic book artist, right? A muscular guy kicking ass ^^
A Memory has been collected again.
Here's a game I would have loved to have seen on SNES. I think it could have done a brilliant version of this.
It might not be a super fun game, or even a classic, but goddamn, the overall presentation quality and technical design is astounding.
It is a classic super fun game
It wasn't fun at all

@@Leonant14 cool story bro
The gameplay's a bit lacking but the fact it actually takes place in a comic book and was even patented is a novel concept.
This was so cool when I first played it, and it still is!
I always died fighting the kungfu boss~ i was 12, such memories
This game actually uses the GEMS driver. One of the few games to use it in a competent manner.
Gems driver?

When I was child of 5 year I thought Shawn Michaels was in the game. I was wrong.
But I can see why you thought that
Awesomeness game please do more thanks ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Just a general rule for games of this era:
The shorter it is...THE HARDER IT IS
here i find myself watching LPA again without even knowing it’s him lol

Very interesting concept of a game man a remaster with hand drawn animation would be radical
Were the alien enemies saying "pack it in" or is it just me 😂

I PLAYED THIS GAME AND THE STORY MOD WAS SO GREAT
this game is pretty badass
Being how difficult the game was to get to episode 2, then never finishing the game, i always assumed the game would be longer than 3 stages.

In August 2022, Sega announced that they partnered with Picturestart, to develop a film adaptation of the game.

liek everyone else this game was hard AF for me but my older cousin finished it and we've been waiting on the sequel for 30 years...
I’ve always liked this game, been playing it since 1997
Whoever played this game was rushing through it. You need to take your time. The levels don't have time limits.
Rushing through? This is a beatem up. Do you want to see the player stand around?

We need a remake or at least a sequel
They nearly made one, was mid creation but it was too late in the genesis's life span.
This game is so edgy the main character had a side cut hairstyle in the mid 90s.
