Probably the coolest game of my childhood... Gotta love Sega for stuff like that! An absolute masterpiece!!!
This was a beatiful game. A very unique concept, great graphics & artwork for its time filled with secerts. We used to play it as kids & I think we finished it once or twice. A very challenging game!

Suddenly remembered this game and had to see this for the nostalgia factor. That "Cya!" at 1:49, I still say it all the time to this day in the same tone and never knew why until I saw this and remembered. I do remember this game being particularly hard and always thought losing health on punching walls was pretty punishing. But I guess my little kid brain learned and adapted and actually beat the game, and again for the good ending. And the music for the final boss really pumped me up too. I guess that's why I'm a sucker for video games OSTs nowadays.

Not really. Just remember that the rat is really useful and you need to look for items. There's usually more than 1 way to get past something, so punching an object and losing life should be a last resort.
@@inputfunny While I agree. When the game was first released, the game was super hard because we were playing blindly. The internet was garbage in those days and you either have to sub to a magazine and good luck getting specific games featured or go out and socialize in arcade stores to get various tidbits about the game. As a kid who played and finished this game when it released it feels like playing Dark Souls in restricted SL1 (level 1, no summons).
Nowadays you have have emulators that have savestates and other tools that you can use to your advantage and of course walktroughs that will hold your hand.
The game has become too easy nowadays no more challenge to play it unlike when it first released in 1995.
@@roahnosh I disagree. I beat the game without save-states and without looking at walkthroughs a month or two ago. The difficulty is overrated just like "Super Ghouls n' Ghosts" on the SNES.

Whoever played this game was rushing through it. You need to take your time. The levels don't have time limits.
You should have used much more rat discoveries, also there is a shoulder shove that you can use to easily break environment objects. Ah I see you used it 27:20

Now that this game is getting a live-action movie based off of it, I wonder just how much it's going to lean into the comic book aesthetic that makes it such a unique game. The Sonic movies have shown us that Sega CAN do the movies justice, they just need to have very clear steps to achieve their goals in making them for fans of the franchise and newcomers alike.
Needless to say, I have (perhaps too optimistic) high hopes.

I played this game a few times and never got close to the end, but good game though. The one part that sucks is you slightly take damage when you punch objects or shove them. 🎮😅🙁

I got this one for PC at a Toys R US. It was marked down several times, and they finally had it for a penny. I still remember buying it and definitely got my money's worth.
