    Great video, really in depth of how to strip an engine properly. That CB 500 engine did look good for 30k miles, testament to Honda build quality. Met Ben a few years ago, he really knows his stuff and works hard. This build will be mega, and is in very good hands. This bikes gonna be flying out of corners. 👌

      Cheers mate, appreciate the comment. Yeah I learned a lot by just watching it all and filming, along with asking loads of daft questions. It's great to see how much effort he puts into to it all, and the entire process. This is just the start of it, the mods and rebuild is yet to come 😎👌

    Beautiful! Nice garage! I also want to send my engine to BCR performance. Would be interesting to drive cb500 with the stage 5))
    I'm curious what the motor vehicle inspection in Switzerland has to say about it. But when you build your dream bike you don't care.
    I did buy a CB500 for fun and long journeys. As you can see, the bike is very compact and simply constructed from in and outside.
    That's exactly what makes it so attractive. Kind regards from Zurich!

      Hey thanks for the comment. Yeah Ben's had quite a few engines sent to him from abroad to work ok, then sent back once modified or rebuilt. Yeah they are fun little bikes to have, simple in design and build, but mega fun. Glad you liked the video, loads more to come 👍

      Hey. Thanks for the comment. Yeah there's a lot you can do with the engine, it's all a case of 💰💰💰money and time⏰. We picked to do affordable mods that give a good improvement in power and torque, without costing a huge amount. 😁👍

    Great! Very interesting and helpful. As a side question, partially unrelated with the subject of this video: your recommended way to improve the delivery of power in case of CB500 PC26, (trying to make it more "responsive") its to change the front or rear sprocket? Or both? It is worth to change the standard ration? Thank you very much for your advice. Great material!

    • @SuggyRacing
      @SuggyRacing  10 місяців тому +1

      Hi thanks for the comment, glad you like the video. Yeah you can change the sprockets front and back and it will help. For racing everyone changed the front -1 tooth and goes up at the rear sprocket +2 teeth. That makes the bike more responsive 👍

    Is this bike going to be for the road? Just bought a CB500 1999 looking to put some different hanlebars on. Be interesting to see what you do with it. What upgrades might be worth doing?

    • @SuggyRacing
      @SuggyRacing  7 місяців тому +1

      Hi thanks for the comment. It's going to be road and track this one. I've built my own wiring harness so that it's minimal, but has the bits I need to make to road legal. I'll show it in the videos later on. There's loads you can do with these bikes. I did a full build series on my race bike, which shows all the cool mods and parts you can get/do to them. It's on my channel as a playlist. I'll do a walk around video of the bike when it's finished, which shouldn't be too long now 😁

    • @Martin-ml6ug
      @Martin-ml6ug 7 місяців тому +1

      That's great I'll look out for the video. Watched some of your race build videos, cool looking bike. This is my first bike lots of people recommended it to me. Not had much riding experience, only just passed but the bike feels quite good. I've bought some new handlebars from Renthal 85cm wide enduro bars that arrive on Tuesday. The stock bars felt a bit weird.

    • @Martin-ml6ug
      @Martin-ml6ug 7 місяців тому

      I'll be using the bike for the road but it's interesting to find out if any mods are worth doing or beneficial for road riding

    • @SuggyRacing
      @SuggyRacing  7 місяців тому +1

      @@Martin-ml6ug The best upgrade by far is suspension and good tyres. That makes any bike better, handles better and nothing beats food tyres. With that stuff you get what you pay for. The rest is personal preference. It all makes the bike better, but it's not essential. Reducing weight also helps on the bike handling

    • @SuggyRacing
      @SuggyRacing  7 місяців тому +1

      @@Martin-ml6ug It's an ideal first bike, cheap to run , cheap to buy parts for and easy to work on. They obviously aren't the fastest, but you wouldn't believe how quick you can actually ride them. Especially if you ever go on a track. Just enjoy being on the road and having a blast on a nice sunny day 😁 That's the reason I'm making this new bike for road and track. I don't see the point in big bikes on the road, this is ideal for a bit of fun 👍

    Hello sir I have a question I bought myself a Honda cb500 last year April, 2 months ago someone drove into the back of it and knocked it over when it was on the main stand knocking it on the right side breaking a mirror break lever and throttle close cable and I fixed it but it wouldn’t start I then took the entire carburetor apart and cleaned it and it’s running again but it doesn’t have the power that it used to have it barely goes over 100kmh and when In gear has no more pushing power after 6000 rpm it’s just bogs and doesn’t push the bike forward when I have full throttle but the weird thing is when I put the throttle back it suddenly jerks forwards and accelerates a little bit but it really pushed forward I was asking if you can help me figure out what the problem is and help me fix it I would really appreciate it if you could help me out I’ll give you my number if could then text me over WhatsApp or call me and we can figure it out I would really appreciate it ❤

    • @SuggyRacing
      @SuggyRacing  9 місяців тому +1

      Hi. Thanks for the comment. I don't think that sounds like an easy fix. It sounds like it would be carb related. You are probably best taking it to a garage to let them have a look, it's hard to guess where you would need to start with it.
