  • Hey everyone, part 4 of the Honda CB500 tuned engine build series, partnering with BCR Performance and P3 Tuning.
    In this video i’m back at BCR Performance to do all the engine mods and tuning. Ben takes us through the process for how he modifies the engine by skimming the deck, porting the cylinder head and cutting new valve seats. Lots of improvements to the engine to gain that all important horsepower & torque!😎
    What you see in the video is all part of a tuning kit that Ben offers at BCR Performance, consisting of the following:
    - Gas flowed ported cylinder head
    - Skimmed deck
    - New seats cut
    - Lightened fly wheel
    - High lift cams
    - New stem seals and fully shimmed
    Contact Ben for more details at / bcr_performance
    Thumb brake👍 can be purchased here (Mention my channel to get 10% off the price😎) : / seventyninewizard

    • @SuggyRacing
      @SuggyRacing  10 днів тому +1

      @@JeanMelim Hey. Thanks for the follow, appreciate it. We are hoping for around the 60hp mark. Which isn't enormous, but for a small engine it would be quite the percentage increase on what is standard. My bike made 48hp, the maximum these bikes make as standard is around 50hp. So it's slightly under at the moment. There's loads you can do to these, we decided to do it a budget friendly as we could. The next stage is doing larger pistons and much more work. Hopefully this will be a noticeable difference in performance alongside other CB500 bikes 😁👍

    What sort of gain does a flow job get. Is it suitable for a road bike

    • @SuggyRacing
      @SuggyRacing  8 днів тому

      @@andywilliams4063 It would definitely be good on a road bike, it all helps it with performance. Ben can probably answer better than me, but if you only do porting it will help, but not as much as having the other work done too. It's a balance getting it all running well. A good set up on the Dyno would help a lot too. 👍

    short guides for exhaust valves. Can it disipate the heat like that?.

    • @SuggyRacing
      @SuggyRacing  21 день тому +1

      I'm not sure to be honest, I'll ask Ben and get back to you. Although assuming it will be fine with him doing it. 👍

    • @bencoyle14
      @bencoyle14 20 днів тому +2

      Yes without issue. As a percentage I have only removed 5% of the EX guide which is minimal.
      You are right in what you’re thinking, it is always better to have valve stability & heat dissipation over the small gain in flow which is why on any heads we do, we would only ever remove valve guide material if there is enough to remove without sacrificing stability & heat dissipation.
