This looks pretty good - however - overall I feel like the lite special versions could have been a little bit more detailed.
Yeah, it doesn’t seem like they put too much thought into the design of this one
I would have liked something on the front of the console to give it more character, but still it's a sleek design.
I was hoping for gold and silver thumbsticks maybe?
I still love the system though
I went to Target like 30 minutes after they opened and I was able to get one. I really do love this one. It's one of my favorite Switch designs.

I really like how it's calling back to the ds lite and funny enough it's the switch lite. I'm personally not picking this up but you guys really should before it sells out. Another thing to note is now pokemon has offically two whole switch lite designs to collect now if you're a pokemon collector specifically when oddly enough we still haven't had a Zelda one (unless you count the joycon)
Right they gotta make a Zelda one. And no joycons dont count

I think they are using up all of the old equipment by repackaging with Pokémon covers.
It looks like scalpers aren’t really bothering with this that much because this pokemon switch lite is still easy to find on online retail sites.
Yep it looks like Nintendo finally can have stock. It’s been 2 days and it’s still in Pokémon Center and game-stop. Hopefully they can do the same for the switch Oled. I was tryna buy it but scalpers bought them in 30 seconds.

I live in France and oled models can be literally found everywhere. Glad big N secures stocks in every countries

They didn’t make this an OLED because the extra costs that would go into the system, and with sword and shield being a lite they probably wouldn’t want to change it.
I can definitely understand the idea that they chose the lite for this special edition due to pokemon being a primarily portable series. One thought I had was that if they made it a standard switch people may not buy it because they already have a switch, and Nintendo is hoping to appeal to people who don't have a lite yet, but at that point they may as well use this special edition design to encourage people to upgrade to the OLED. Regardless of their reasoning, I'm really hoping these are still in stock here in Canada come Thursday when I get paid, because I'd really love to pick one of these up!

If Pokémon Legends Arceus wasn't coming so soon I would guess there would be an OLED Arceus model. All the main Pokemon games got a special edition. And that game is more of a console experience

Looks like my old DS lol yeah the reason Nintendo didn't throw a new screen in it is because they just want to use up all their old parts/inventory will eventually get a switch lite OLED

I thought about getting this two days ago but sadly I had to say no because I already got a Switch Lite for my Birthday just for Pokemon in the First place as a Secondary Console so I could play both Versions at the same time!

Prob reg switch cuz it’s cheaper and easier to fulfill order demand and it’ll be scalped regardless but if it was the new system it’ll be a lot more heavily scalped

Its a Switch lite Because Handheld is and always will be the correct way to play pokemon. It was all about portability and being able to play with your friends. I bought one cuz to be honest i dont play Nintendo games besides pokemon so i bought a lite. Plus not everyone wamts to fork out $400+ everytime for a console. Budget and exclusivity are always nice.
Do you ever charge the switches you collect from time to time? I collect switched and don’t know if I’m supposed to pop them open, charge them from time to time.
Nintendo does say to charge them every 6 months or so which I do to all the consoles I have unboxed
Fully charge it once and it will last way longer. Problem is if the battery is little and you didn’t charge for 6 months, then it might be fully drained which is bad but would be preventable if you fully charge it before stocking it. Might last years before it drains

Laziest special design ever. Basically just slapped a 14 year old design from the DS on the lite. Could have at least done extra and added some colors to the buttons??
Its supposed to be a homage to the old DS Lite special edition though. They remade it because of the Diamond/Pearl remakes. I personally think it was a good throwback, but I can understand where you're coming from. I was a little disappointed in the "Mario" edition Switch... Looks good... But its just red
They just don't make special editions like they used to. Honestly the switch line of special editions IMO really aren't that good. I guess it's difficult to get too creative with the design overall given that it's just one tablet. But compared with say the 3DS, this truly is lacking. And when you have the DS lite in hand and you look at this, it's hard not to get infuriated when you're essentially paying for the same design.

I'm going to pass on this one. Even though I think the metallic grey looks fresh, I can't justify buying another switch lite rn. I will just stick to my grey lite. Maybe if there's going to be a Zelda edition, I'll consider buying that.
This is a really mute special edition. Like you mentioned, unless you took a closer look and noticed the back of the console, you couldn't really tell it's a special edition.

Pokémon games are usually “on the go” games not console tv type games. Why would they make a Switch oled edition who would play Pokémon on the tv bruh like cmon
