The strangest thing Nintendo did during the whole Switch phase was releasing a version of the Switch that you COULDN'T switch the joycons out of and you COULDN'T switch from console mode to TV mode via a dock. It literally didn't switch and they still called it the Nintendo Switch Lite. 🤯🤯🤯
A lighter version that Switches out functions for portability only fans because why buy devices with assesories/functions that aren't going to be used in your preferred playstyle is why the 2DS/XL was made same logic
Two ideas I think would be pretty cool: 1) Support for a plastic stylus, so that mouse pointer games can be played without the need of a touchpad. And maybe this can allow for ds games that relied on a stylus. The stylus should be sold separately as an accessory and it would even be cool if they sold a joycon with a built in stylus that’s expandable like the 3ds. 2) Cooling built into the dock. I think that Nintendo should have all tech that is solely for higher performance modes, like 4k output, put into the dock to really give us the best of a handheld and a console.
Phone connectivity could be KILLER. Quick split screen, display your minimap or inventory, a quick ad-hoc controller, send over screenshots and videos instantly, so many practical uses...
I think it would be interesting if the dock had its own storage and you could transfer games between the switch and the dock, allowing you to have more games at home while still allowing you to take them with you for travelling. Imagine leaving for a trip so you swap games around between the dock and the switch, maybe with a good network you could do it on the fly?

I'm amazed that he would think Nintendo would do all these (21:30) while they can't even give us more backgrounds or themes. I also love how excited he is for pokemon legends ZA for the next state of the art switch technology, 4k rendering, high fidelity graphics, minimum 60 fps. Meanwhile all I see is pokemon scarlet and violet in -4k rendering, graphics, minimum -60 fps.
14:19 I love that you mentioned this, because did you know you can join a Jackbox Party game with your Nintendo 3DS internet browser? Giving the Switch an internet browser and letting phones connect to it can unlock more of these possibilities!
they were scared of all the exploits thatll be possible again through their web browser (no seriously, all consoles wii and up have or had a browser exploit in the past)
This vid reminded me of a concept I followed as a child: I only bought consoles that had a game I REALLY wanted. These days where everyone seems to have every console and "has" to try every game even if they weren't excited for it, it's very easy to forget the core concepts hah
12:24 I thought you brought up the previous home consoles & handheld consoles earlier in the video to point out that this feature they've patented would make it possible for the "Switch 2" to play games not only the same way we can play Switch games, but also WiiU & DS games. Having 2 screens that can be separated so that the top screen can be docked like the Switch & the bottom screen can be your controller like on the WiiU is the exact feature that makes that possible.
@@enduro_xr150l4 theoretically if you got a PS5 you're wasting it on a 1080p television, you're not getting the full resolution it's capable of outputting
Me and a friend made and even partially designed a "Super Nintendo" a solid four years ago which included a two screen switch, a console dock which was fully backwards compatible with all previous consoles and even specialty controllers to use for each console. To see some of these ideas resurfaced memories i didnt know I still had.
correction: Mario Kart 9 is technically the phone app, that’s why the DLC for Deluxe took so long. (they used levels from the phone app game in each of the new cups) as for Circuit.. you could argue that Mario Kart Circuit is Mario Kart 10, so we’re waiting for 11.
I hadn’t owned a console since the Wii and I had never bought a console as an adult. I was very happy with the Nintendo Switch being both a mobile and a home console when I bought it in 2021. I definitely can’t wait for a new one to come out.
11:41 I feel like we need it since I think it can not just be your usual Camera Phones has but could also be the new Kinect Xbox had that got Discontinued + I think it would be way better than the IR Camera
"Attach" also reminds me of "attaching" multiple screens together as shown at 13:20 That would actually be a huge selling point as a totally new feature for the new console.
iPhone went straight from iPhone 8 to iPhone 10, and Windows also went from Windows 8 to Windows 10. Everyone avoids the number 9 because it is considered unlucky. They’re probably going to name it Mario Kart 10 or X, and they had deluxe versions and mobile versions after 8 so it wont seem too off
You know, the camera, microphone, and step counter were all DS/3DS things there. Having them would make sense for if they want to add DS/3DS games to Nintendo Online or even ports of the games there Just as a note, the backwards compatibility is also something major with the Nintendo Handhelds...up until the Advance you could play all GB games, and the DS could still use Advance games as well.
one feature i want is a return of streetpass from 3ds, it would give people more reason to bring their consoles on the go. Oh and i hope the switch 2 has more quirk and personality that older nintendo consoles had.
The things I would love to see on the Switch 2. - 720p 60fps handheld - 1080p 60fps (minimum) docked, anything above that can be upscaled with AI/DLSS/FSR - Hall effect Analog sticks (I've done an upgrade on mine joycons and it is working very well), yes it drives the cost a bit higher but it resolves the stick-drift issue - Better hardware, not a 3 year old chip at release that is now 10 year old at the end of Switch's life cycle it's time. Also more RAM, 4GB ain't cutting it anymore. These four are the biggest gripes I have with the console,
25:38 mk 10 is correct but home circuit doesnt count, mk tour is 9 also its gonna be named 10 because IT will be the last one (totally not a windows 10 refference)
One of two options: 1- It’ll be a CRT that weighs 100 pounds, you need a pry bar to get the new joycons off, its highest resolution is 27p, and it’ll use NeoGeo AES cartridges. Look em up, they’re freaking huge! Or 2- It’s a Switch sold with a Wii U gamepad from old Wii U console stock. …And will be $550 There is no other option
If they want to keep a phone app, they better make it so it can attach to the top of the main system and use it at it full potential. Like the camera on the phone, additional touch button to add it to the game, tidying menus windows so you don't have to press ton of buttons to navigate from map, to items management, to notepad for your to do list in the game. Since teen to adult are the one who have a phone, add video and voice chat. Use it in a way that the phone is the second screen of the main screen not just an afterthought accessories. That not only Nintendo but any developers can use it for their games.
I don't know about the console itself, but I do want the controllers (both Joy Con and Pro Controller) to have better D-Pad, analog triggers and magnetic analog sticks. As for the console itself, though, I do want to see that dual screen concept. It could revive the DS and Wii U days, just without the handicap of having their development divisions separated and offering traditional gameplay styles to keep developers and consumers alike invested on the platform even if they dislike the gimmick.
the one thing I want is more customizability. I don't want to rip apart my joycons to swap the shells, I just want my switch to look cute. Also customizing the home screen like on the 3DS would be such a good thing, I have having all my apps dumped in one place, and I hate even more having to scroll to see all the apps
16:30 the problem with the Wii U is most people thought it was a Wii accessory, not a new console. I and most of my friends thought this for the longest time.
I agree with everything, I'd just add one thing for the console itself: - please change the left joycon's buttons into an actual d-pad. or at least make the 4 buttons join at the center so it doesn't feel weird. - also, the wheel triggers could be a nice gimmick, I feel. But, more importantly, I hope a few things Software-wise, too (by preference order): - A Switch 2 exclusive update for all 1st party OG Switch games, to make them run better, look better, and maybe adds a feature or two (that doesn't have to be Switch 2 exclusive) to make people want to reexperience everything. they don't need to release over 100 patches on day 1, but like 10-15 on day 1, then each month release an update for a few older games. Basically they'd all passively get a small visual enhancement by being on more powerful hardware, but add a patch to actually make use of that and go a bit beyond what Switch 1 could do. that'd be neat. - An achievement system that's applicable to each game, so you gain platinum coins playing your games, and maybe directly unlock games or pfp icons and more - Themes. I know it's dumb and useless, but that'd be neat, they could easily charge money and/or platinum (or even gold) coins for that. - Speaking of icons, I kind of wish they expanded on that. I have hundreads of icon parts, if not thousands, but... really, I can only have one profile picture, in the end. I'd like them to make a sort of Mii place for NSO, but instead of Miis (or in addition to them), you could spend coins or complete achievements to add characters from various games, change the music, change the background, (or maybe even basic housing), stuff like that. You may also be able to display stats like most played games, number of games, number of achievement trophies, favourite games, ... and that would be your own page anyone (or just your friends by default) can see, with a smaller compact version for the friend list, showcasing your favourite games, songs and characters. Basically make NSO a social media to some extent, so part of it could be "retrocompatible" with switch 1. That's in favour of Nintendo, too, as they can see what games and characters people like, and those players do make passive advertisement for the games they like to their friends. Also, if we could mix and match characters, backgrounds and frames for icons, that'd be cool... - Then some more QoL, like better bluetooth connectivity, quicker startup, folders, etc. that'd be neat. There's also another idea I'd like to see, but that's probably too much work and cost for too little uses, but I would like all consoles to be able to be used as a controller, with the game being streamed to the screen. basically, you want to play smash with a friend, but you both have a switch lite and no spare controller? one hists the game, the other connects to the party, and uses his own switch lite as a controller, and they each can see the screen. and some game could make use of that in different ways, I'm thinking Mario Party, or maybe something similar to a Zombi U. You could even connect to your own dock, so you have two screens, maybe. Basically have gamepads make a return, because Nintendo made motion controls, then dual screens, then bad 3d, then gamepads, and the switch had motion controls return, so if another feature had to come back, I think gamepad is the closer/easier to implement, and may introduce dual screen in a somewhat roundabout way, too. And we honestly don't need the 3DS's 3D, just like the 3DS didn't need the 3DS's 3D.
If they made the switch 2 the one leaked with 2 screens, made it able to play current switch games and be compatible with ds/3ds games that would be amazing and I would buy one instantly. I've been wanting a third party device to play 3ds games on like the steam deck but the lack of 2 screens means it isn't great. This would be an easy opportunity to get another group of people buying the new console
Yeah, I'm plenty content with my 60" and 50" 3D plasma TVs from Panasonic. They look great and I never feel like they need to be 4K. If I want higher resolution gaming I play PC games on my 1440P 32" monitor.
22:40 That's why it has a touchscreen. That's what you use in handheld. The only place touchpads are reasonable would be in the Pro controllers. 25:20 You forgot Smash bros. I, myself, looks forward to another Snipperclips or something in the similar style.
Love when you release these type of videos, so much goes into them and it’s worth every minute of watching! Love the concept, ideas and the super name 👍🏻
Backwards Compatibility is GONNA HAPPEN. Wii was backwards compatible with GameCube, 3DS was backwards compatible with the DS and the Wii U was compatible with the Wii. All the Nintendo games in the past 15 years or so had backwards compatibility. I think the Switch was just such a giant change from the Wii U or 3DS the next one will.
24:22 things are gonna get crazy when they show the switch 2 trailer and they show someone playing a new mario kart for 1.5 seconds like they did with mario odyssey on the switch
My son and I have been saying super switch/Super Nintendo switch for years since switch 2 hype started. It hits my feels and thrills perfectly. Sounds cool and as a 80s baby, 90s kid it’s prescient what I want
"I had a mustache when I recorded that footage" Is such an easy, yet simple reasoning for why videos can take long to come out with comedic timings like this.
Nintendo Fusion would be a nice name, considering it both makes sense with the hybrid concept and it just sounds like a Nintendo Switch sequel console to me.
They should make it so you can disconnect the two screens of which are usually connected with magnets so you can connect the second screen to the tv and can play primarily on the tv and have something like a minimap on the normal screen, kinda like the ds, 2ds, and 3ds but on crack.
i think there will be backwards compatability, you would use your current switch games on the switch 2 but the graphics will be the same as on the current switch, meaning that they could resell the same games as " remakes " AKA they will have enhanced graphics, so if youd want the full potential of the console, youd have to rebuy your games
for new games a mario kart 9/10 would be cool, with an EXTRA custom mode, a paint mode like the ds had but for the whole car part, a sort of story line mode where you unlock stuff, coins that you collect can be used to unlock stuff but you buy them in like a work shop, and a better online mode with more customisation. ALL tracks that nintendo ever had and dlcs later down the years with new stuff
I really liked that third render. I’d love the screens to be thinner that way they could give us a flip up two screens like the DS combined with the Switch. I’d love to see what each game could do in handheld mode.
I really hope the next Nintendo console will be much like the Switch, I enjoy the silent and extremely portable handheld mode, I don't use the dock at all. I hope it has OLED and no camera.
15:05 A Pokémon game all about going out and collecting them in Go then using them to battle in HOME or do raids that give you special Pokemon in cherish balls. You’d need a phone to maybe use the hotspot but also they could let you share location to do raids and events in real life locations.
For joy-cons they definitely just need to be thicker for more comfort and add bigger buttons, improved sticks, analog triggers and a d-pad, maybe they'll remove the plus/minus theming and just do start/select but probably not. They should also definitely have more themes for this one. The Scarlet/Violet OLED and the TOTK OLED were great, more of those, but add some nes and snes themed versions like the 3ds. And your idea for a thin dock is perfect because they could add textured designs like the 2ds xl, like a giant pokeball switch, or a big hyrule crest on the back, it would be great.
A modular switch would be soo cool! Also, I'd probably prefer the home and capture buttons to be on the console and the side of the joy-con that attaches to the switch because of the button positioning for when you use the joy-cons individually. Ether you have to reach further for the stick, or the buttons. I'd like them both to be spaced the same.
20:29 Are you discussing this because you forgot that the Switch has a touch screen; or is that not seen as a sufficient alternative to a mouse by mouse users?
Hope it come with a new joycon strap, that also act as an adapter to slide the old joycon in, so it can magnetically attach and click in place to the new 8 inch. Of course the strap itself can be removed from the adapter. The bezel less will make the Switch 2 dimensions around the same as the Switch 1, V2 and OLED. Making the strap/joycons adapter seamless. Maybe old dock compatible too whether through an adapter. Switch 2 software and hardware backward compatibility will make the Switch 1 sale continue longer even after Switch 2 release. Hoping it continue with Switch 3 that software and hardware backward compatibility
I just want Nintendo's next console to have backwards-compatibility and be able to run at least all first party games at 1080p 60fps (using upscaling is fine by me). After building my own PC, I've found it really difficult to go back to the switch since I mostly just play games like Xenoblade that run at an even lower framerate and resolution than other switch games. I just want the experience to be closer to that of my PC so that I can adjust to it because right now, the sub 30fps on games like Xenoblade 2 is so difficult to play
Imo i count tour as an official mario kart installment since not only is it huge but tracks from tour are in 8 Deluxe, proving they arent exactly separate

@@c0mpu73rguy they all do it, but Nintendo is the worst imo. A few years ago, it was something like a 1/3 of 1st party games were ports from previous gen. It’s gotten better in 2024, but there’s still a ton of full priced ports.

If the switch 2 launched with a new Metroid, Pokemon, and Mario Kart, that would probably be one of the greatest launch lineups in decades
No
Plus all the 3rd party games that released late this year. That would make this new console the largest selling Nintendo console for sure.
Gotta get cod on deck that’s a must!
I don’t even know of a system launch that would be better than that. Those 3 would be insane.
We need a cod game black ops 4 maybe
The strangest thing Nintendo did during the whole Switch phase was releasing a version of the Switch that you COULDN'T switch the joycons out of and you COULDN'T switch from console mode to TV mode via a dock. It literally didn't switch and they still called it the Nintendo Switch Lite. 🤯🤯🤯
A lighter version that Switches out functions for portability only fans because why buy devices with assesories/functions that aren't going to be used in your preferred playstyle is why the 2DS/XL was made same logic
you're not wrong, but at the same time if they called it something else, people would just get "confused" again.
You can switch is on or off. That's what the lite is referring to
@@evelinepieternella8088 Pretty sure that applies to literally every electronic ever made 😅Is that your final answer?
@@Caffeinated_Warrior Yup.
Two ideas I think would be pretty cool:
1) Support for a plastic stylus, so that mouse pointer games can be played without the need of a touchpad.

As a 3D artist myself, why do I feel like you got scammed on Fiverr? The high price point for a amateur model.
ikr ? like spending half a week learning blender from youtube tutorial and you could arguably be able to make better model and render than those

With the newer leaks the "switch attach" makes so much sense, and i would actually love that name for it, everyone could call it an "attach"

22:56 i dont think they will make the switches edges rounded, it just jooks weird for when you have joycons on them
I'm amazed that he would think Nintendo would do all these (21:30) while they can't even give us more backgrounds or themes.
6 months later - still no switch 2 reveal
This vid reminded me of a concept I followed as a child: I only bought consoles that had a game I REALLY wanted. These days where everyone seems to have every console and "has" to try every game even if they weren't excited for it, it's very easy to forget the core concepts hah
I'll pay an extra $50 for an OLED screen easy. I'll take 1080p in handheld, maybe 1440p docked, 4k 60fps sounds unreasonable.
You can homebrew your switch and already upscale it to 4k so it's definitely not unreasonable.. it's more about battery
12:24
I thought you brought up the previous home consoles & handheld consoles earlier in the video to point out that this feature they've patented would make it possible for the "Switch 2" to play games not only the same way we can play Switch games, but also WiiU & DS games.
Having 2 screens that can be separated so that the top screen can be docked like the Switch & the bottom screen can be your controller like on the WiiU is the exact feature that makes that possible.

Me and a friend made and even partially designed a "Super Nintendo" a solid four years ago which included a two screen switch, a console dock which was fully backwards compatible with all previous consoles and even specialty controllers to use for each console. To see some of these ideas resurfaced memories i didnt know I still had.
Mystic Wood predicts the future again (you do have an uncanny knack for getting these things right lol 🙂)
correction: Mario Kart 9 is technically the phone app, that’s why the DLC for Deluxe took so long. (they used levels from the phone app game in each of the new cups)
as for Circuit.. you could argue that Mario Kart Circuit is Mario Kart 10, so we’re waiting for 11.
I hadn’t owned a console since the Wii and I had never bought a console as an adult. I was very happy with the Nintendo Switch being both a mobile and a home console when I bought it in 2021. I definitely can’t wait for a new one to come out.
Switch 2 is the best name. That's what everyone will call it anyway.

iPhone went straight from iPhone 8 to iPhone 10, and Windows also went from Windows 8 to Windows 10. Everyone avoids the number 9 because it is considered unlucky. They’re probably going to name it Mario Kart 10 or X, and they had deluxe versions and mobile versions after 8 so it wont seem too off
You know, the camera, microphone, and step counter were all DS/3DS things there. Having them would make sense for if they want to add DS/3DS games to Nintendo Online or even ports of the games there
Just as a note, the backwards compatibility is also something major with the Nintendo Handhelds...up until the Advance you could play all GB games, and the DS could still use Advance games as well.
one feature i want is a return of streetpass from 3ds, it would give people more reason to bring their consoles on the go. Oh and i hope the switch 2 has more quirk and personality that older nintendo consoles had.
The Wii had backwards compatibility. End of question
The things I would love to see on the Switch 2.
- 720p 60fps handheld
- 1080p 60fps (minimum) docked, anything above that can be upscaled with AI/DLSS/FSR
- Hall effect Analog sticks (I've done an upgrade on mine joycons and it is working very well), yes it drives the cost a bit higher but it resolves the stick-drift issue
- Better hardware, not a 3 year old chip at release that is now 10 year old at the end of Switch's life cycle it's time. Also more RAM, 4GB ain't cutting it anymore.
These four are the biggest gripes I have with the console,
Great video. Love the thought but those fiver modelers are doing robbery out there on you my man.
11:45
but a user facing camera could also be used for seeing each other in online multiplayer games, so it's not that niche.
14:28
This is why I think a user facing camera would be worth having on the console; for video chat aswell as voice chat.
Going to do any weird accessories those are my fav vids
25:38 mk 10 is correct
but home circuit doesnt count, mk tour is 9
also its gonna be named 10 because IT will be the last one (totally not a windows 10 refference)
One of two options:
1- It’ll be a CRT that weighs 100 pounds, you need a pry bar to get the new joycons off, its highest resolution is 27p, and it’ll use NeoGeo AES cartridges. Look em up, they’re freaking huge!
Or 2- It’s a Switch sold with a Wii U gamepad from old Wii U console stock. …And will be $550
There is no other option
If they want to keep a phone app, they better make it so it can attach to the top of the main system and use it at it full potential. Like the camera on the phone, additional touch button to add it to the game, tidying menus windows so you don't have to press ton of buttons to navigate from map, to items management, to notepad for your to do list in the game. Since teen to adult are the one who have a phone, add video and voice chat. Use it in a way that the phone is the second screen of the main screen not just an afterthought accessories. That not only Nintendo but any developers can use it for their games.

@@Lo0ny_T0ons I watched it to the 'end', but it was clear that that wasn't supposed to be the end.
I don't know about the console itself, but I do want the controllers (both Joy Con and Pro Controller) to have better D-Pad, analog triggers and magnetic analog sticks.
As for the console itself, though, I do want to see that dual screen concept. It could revive the DS and Wii U days, just without the handicap of having their development divisions separated and offering traditional gameplay styles to keep developers and consumers alike invested on the platform even if they dislike the gimmick.
i'ma gonna be disappointed if it's not "Super Nintendo Switch"
the one thing I want is more customizability. I don't want to rip apart my joycons to swap the shells, I just want my switch to look cute. Also customizing the home screen like on the 3DS would be such a good thing, I have having all my apps dumped in one place, and I hate even more having to scroll to see all the apps
I always thought Nintendo would release an upgraded dock to add horsepower as a mid-gen refresh on the Switch.
16:30 the problem with the Wii U is most people thought it was a Wii accessory, not a new console. I and most of my friends thought this for the longest time.
It has been 6 months
I agree with everything, I'd just add one thing for the console itself:
- please change the left joycon's buttons into an actual d-pad. or at least make the 4 buttons join at the center so it doesn't feel weird.
- also, the wheel triggers could be a nice gimmick, I feel.
But, more importantly, I hope a few things Software-wise, too (by preference order):
- A Switch 2 exclusive update for all 1st party OG Switch games, to make them run better, look better, and maybe adds a feature or two (that doesn't have to be Switch 2 exclusive) to make people want to reexperience everything. they don't need to release over 100 patches on day 1, but like 10-15 on day 1, then each month release an update for a few older games. Basically they'd all passively get a small visual enhancement by being on more powerful hardware, but add a patch to actually make use of that and go a bit beyond what Switch 1 could do. that'd be neat.
- An achievement system that's applicable to each game, so you gain platinum coins playing your games, and maybe directly unlock games or pfp icons and more
- Themes.
Still love watching his video without owning a nintendo switch 😂

If they made the switch 2 the one leaked with 2 screens, made it able to play current switch games and be compatible with ds/3ds games that would be amazing and I would buy one instantly. I've been wanting a third party device to play 3ds games on like the steam deck but the lack of 2 screens means it isn't great. This would be an easy opportunity to get another group of people buying the new console

My son and I have been saying super switch/Super Nintendo switch for years since switch 2 hype started. It hits my feels and thrills perfectly. Sounds cool and as a 80s baby, 90s kid it’s prescient what I want
"I had a mustache when I recorded that footage"
Is such an easy, yet simple reasoning for why videos can take long to come out with comedic timings like this.
Nintendo Fusion would be a nice name, considering it both makes sense with the hybrid concept and it just sounds like a Nintendo Switch sequel console to me.
Would sound like a accessory for the current switch for most people. Just Switch 2 would be the best name.
0:59 its been 7 months, not a whisper
I really liked that third render. I’d love the screens to be thinner that way they could give us a flip up two screens like the DS combined with the Switch. I’d love to see what each game could do in handheld mode.
I really hope the next Nintendo console will be much like the Switch, I enjoy the silent and extremely portable handheld mode, I don't use the dock at all. I hope it has OLED and no camera.
I SAW THE SMALLVILLE CLIP WITH LEX!!! GIGA-CHAD TASTE!!!
Honestly, switch is so good, that it won't hurt AT ALL to wait until 2025

A Pokémon game all about going out and collecting them in Go then using them to battle in HOME or do raids that give you special Pokemon in cherish balls.
"A newborn 5 year old fresh out of the womb"
Wood... Who gave you the Birds and the Bees talk and why were they given permission?
A modular switch would be soo cool!
Also, I'd probably prefer the home and capture buttons to be on the console and the side of the joy-con that attaches to the switch because of the button positioning for when you use the joy-cons individually. Ether you have to reach further for the stick, or the buttons. I'd like them both to be spaced the same.
The cut from I had a mustach in the footage, to you hanging from the left croner upside down with a moustache was hilarious xD
21:37 BRO PREDICTED ALARMO 💀💀💀💀
20:29
Are you discussing this because you forgot that the Switch has a touch screen; or is that not seen as a sufficient alternative to a mouse by mouse users?
Loving this new editing style!! Your recent scripted videos have been SO GOOD!!
That's how that black thingie around the screen is called? A Bezel?
