I still have my Colosseum bonus disc with Jirachi and DX game cube skin. I finally burned out the battery in my Ruby game playing 2v2 with our GBA sp's as controllers. Thankfully I had already moved them all to Emerald. Geez louize so many hours of EV training lol
Never got into them because I always thought it was a slap in the face. I mean it came to console and it literally could have been an actual remake of the games or a combined version of two generations or more and instead we got those. So it rub me the wrong way. Never played them so I have no comment on how they actually were. Could've been great but never felt like playing them.

By the way, I have watched other pokemon let’s go eevee/pikachu reviews and this is the only one that convinced me to go and buy the game. I was not sure at first but after watching this video I really want to go and buy it, and I will.

I’m so glad you enjoy the game so much!! I, just like you, was super skeptic to the fact that wild battles were not a thing in this game. At first I didn’t plan on getting it at all, but as the hype and nostalgia started building up, I just couldn’t wait to get my hands on a Pokémon game finally on the Switch. And MAN do I love this game! I even ended up getting both versions, and I can’t even say how much I enjoy travelling through Kanto again.
For some reason Pokemon: let's go Evee/Pikachu is basically Pokemon GO but instead of walking around you just sit down and collect Pokemon with the switch
Today has been the worst day in a while. Thank you so much for goading a chuckle out of me!
And I completely agree on the catching mechanic. It's really nice in the way it makes battling feels fresh and interesting when you get to a trainer-area, instead of making you want to dodge them all. Also, I've tried to only catch 1 of each Mon I've seen, and the coach trainers and bosses are only rarely a lvl or two below my mine. In my experience, this is maybe the best balanced game in terms of difficulty we've had in the franchise!
Don't let the haters muddle things. This gem is for everyone!

@@SuperMandibleclaw if you crave a challenge, there are many ways to nuzlock your way through the game. Here are a few tips
1) remove your partner pokemon, hes too OP
2) set battle mode to "set" so you cant swap out
3) Every time a pokemon faints, you have to release it
Theres more you can do as well, and you dont have to follow each rule.

You make really great points! Yeah, grinding was a chore back then with having to switch out pokemon. And having the EXP. Share or Amulet Coin took up the item space so held items didn't give much strategy.
I've never played any Pokemon game before. You've made me feel like I'm missing out on something. I think I need to go to the store real quick...

I definitely think it’s easier but by the same token I don’t think it’s too easy - I feel like they’ve found the right balance where it doesn’t feel condescending but you also don’t need to stop and grind for an hour or so before every gym. I had the game preordered since June (and I don’t do preorders) and it’s been everything I wanted and so much more. The Pokeball plus in particular brings sooooo much more to the table than I expected.
thought the game would suck but still bought it just to try and I really like it (i’m a hardcore pokemon fan played all games multiple times except for the black(2) and white(2) and I have put in more than 2000 hours in all pokemon games combined)

Rad2Games catching pokemon instead fighting is actually more challenging. It teaches you how to manage your coins for pokeballs unlike before.
Jaime Jr Esperanza yeah idk, catching was more frustrating than hard for me and that never makes me want to catch anything cause I don’t want a fight with motion controls or the gyro if I’m in the car. Not a bad game but not worth full price.Also these games are easy full stop. Every end game trainer can be beaten easily even when I got rid of my partner. Yeah I didn’t like them but that doesn’t mean everyone won’t, its your opinion rly.

@@mrdimple1997 the best way to look at is as a fully playable tech demo look at it like metal gear solid v ground zero instead of the phantom pain. Now granted its a fully priced tech demo but you are still getting the bare bones Pokemon experience
This really hit home for me. Im 28 and played a ton of Yellow back in the day. I bought the lets go eevee with the poke ball plus and I just cant get enough of this game. Have clocked almost 50 hours and have so far completed my pokedex and started my shiny hunting. 3 hours of ponyta today drove me a little crazy, but still fun.
This guy is such a chill person to watch. I might not even care about the game you are talking about , but still watch the video for the lol's

This was my first Pokemon game since Yellow, going into it knowing that it was a "remake" didn't bother me one bit. It truly felt like a brand new experience all around. Sure there were memories, but wow ... I was nothing but impressed! Oh, and as far as being catered to young people... I'm 38, don't judge me. LMAO

33 year old recently got back into pokemon because of Ultra Sun/Moon and these games really selected it. I've play through most or all of the games but now I'm really diving into the post game. You're never too old for Pokemon.
I have to say wood you were the person that changed my mind on getting the game, last Friday I was certain I was not going to get it but after your stream I went out last Saturday and picked it up and am enjoying the game
OMG YES, exactly what I feel about these games. I was positively surprised by the game and the catching mechanics, the graphics are amazing and the map with real Pokemon are just.. Aah, I could just stay on a random route for an hour and watch what's going on.

I haven't been heavily into Pokemon since Diamond/Pearl and Platinum (and the gold and silver remakes) and this brought back so many memories!

This video was the first ever video i watched from your channel. And ever since iv been hooked on your videos. ( yes i actually went back in my UA-cam history to figure out which video i watched first mainly cuz i haven't stopped since and now my history is basically your video lineup lol). This was back in November of 2018 that i got hooked and i couldn't be happier to have fallen in love with channel. Thank you wood for making such awesome videos. You are amazing and i love what you do.
At first, I was VERY skeptical of the battles being limited to the trainers, but playing Sword and Violet, back to back, and then playing this one with my little one, I realize it's actually a pretty smart choice. It cuts on the grind of spamming A to defeat random pokemons, it makes the encounter matter more (even if they still are piss easy, they are a bit more of an event or a different flavor of the game). And I kind of wish that they kept this idea and built on it, for the main series.
Like one of my dream mechanic for this franchise would be, having it be a bit more of a hunting game when capturing pokémon (like in Let's Go but more baits, more approaches etc), and with missions that ask you to find pokémon of a certain size, or a shiny for extra goodies or whatever. It would incentivize capturing more of the same species.
I have been LOVING this game.
The catching mechanic and everyone getting EXP have finally got me grinding out more pokemon. I have a lot of games to play so I never have the time to level up all my pokemon and now every so often I just swap out my entire team and catch pokemon for a half hour and I've got a semi average new team that I use for the next stages of the game.
They've had this exp system for years now, since xy on the 3ds.

@@snmcfadden yes... provided you went to an area your lower levels could beat pokemon, or hoping you can catch it before it kills your pokemon, or keep one higher level to beat pokemon or trainers wherever you currently are.. Now I can swap out for an entire party of low levels and not worry about their health or healing items as I level them. I dont really care if it is or not, but that change makes the entire thing feel far less grindy

I tried so hard to get into this game. It is very polished and I love that they tried something new, but personally it wasn’t for me. Maybe it was the leveling system, or maybe it was a little too simple for me, I dunno. But I have no doubt others really liked this game, and that’s great!

@@blootube97 Yeah, that's one thing that none of the reviews really mentioned that I actually DID have a problem with which is the co-op, it's just kind of tacked on and not only that it's annoying that the gym leaders and none of the people you battle are allowed to throw out two Pokemon at a time so that's an area of distinct advantage that you couldn't have gotten in the original.
"this game is too easy" doesnt mean "this game should be really hard"
+cutessie It's almost like this kids game is so easy a child could pick it up and play it lol. Pokemon games are aimed at kids and the games have always been casual difficulty at best so to argue about how easy the game is strikes me as a bit silly because the games have never been anything more than a surface level RPG.

I was waiting for this game for month, now it's finally here. I first thought that the new catching mechanismn is kind of dumb, but after a few hours into the game, I began to like it. The one thing I can't get over yet, is the starter pokemon learning all the special moves. It's a bit silly in my eyes, but maybe that's because I'm 30 now and I'm getting grumpy. Great video! :)

@@yeetjeet6684 I think they are testing a lot new things with this version. On one hand they are going back to the roots and on the other hand they introduce new features. And I think that's a good thing. Back then I played the Gen1 games a lot until gold an silver came out, but it bothered me that there where so much new pokemon introduces which feeled not well crafted. I skipped some generations because of it, but when I came back and played X & Y, there where litterely ice cream pokemon, so that's aweful in my opinion, aswell as the hetching mechanisms. Now it is more enjoyable again. I like simple mechanics and challening gameplay. I hope they stick more to this kind of stuff and improve it for the next big game that's in the making.

I DEMAND A REMASTER OF XD GALE OF DARKNESS, AND COLOSSEUM, Nostalgia may be in overdrive but damn I love those games to death, I want it to have no loads zones, I want to see Shadow Lugia in all its AWE-INSPIRING DARK GLORY with graphics that have been overhauled, and I want at least Majora's Mask amount of side quests added doesn't have to be korok seed level but I want even more to do "besides beating Chobin up" I also want more Shadow Pokemon to save

Going forward with new Pokémon games they could add an option in the options menu if you want Pokeball encounters or battle encounters. Give the player a choice on how they want to play. If it can't be done on the fly then make it a game mode option when starting a new adventure.
