  • This is a demonstration video of the Push To Talk Mode for my AVCS4 Falcon BMS Radio Menus profile for VoiceAttack. The PTT Mode allows users to restrict when keypress macros are fired by this voice control profile, with a default mode restricting only radio menu command macros while still allowing function commands such as, "Enable/Disable/Edit Push to Talk Mode", etc.
    The optional Global Mode will disable and enable the VoiceAttack Global Listening Mode based on the state of any PTT buttons, so will restrict ANY voice commands from being recognized unless a PTT button is depressed.
    The 'Wake by Computer Name' feature may not apply to Falcon BMS, but is an included feature through AVCS CORE and is also demonstrated here - users can set a name (or names) which they can say before any command to briefly wake Global Listening Mode and issue a command.

    This is probably a simple question but I can’t seem to get it to work. I can get VoiceAttack to speak back to you but it sounds like a computer. What are you using to have the voice your system reply’s back to you with some sort of fluid?

      There are many text-to-speech voices available for Windows, but by default, it only comes with a small selection of free voices included with the Windows OS. You can find all sorts of TTS voices on offer, I'll quote a list created by Exergist here -- the voice I am using for my TTS is Ivona Brian (UK), cost like $30-45 USD:
      >>> NextUp
      AT&T Natural Voices = nextup.com/attnv.html
      Ivona Voices = nextup.com/ivona/ (multi-voice packs available)
      >>> Harpo Software (free trial and multi-voice packs available)
      Ivona Voices = harposoftware.com/en/2-main/s-1/index/brand-ivona/category-single_voices
      Nuance Voices = harposoftware.com/en/2-main/s-1/index/brand-nuance/category-single_voices
      >>> CereProc
      CereProc Voices = www.cereproc.com/en/storesapi (see customizable demo at top of page)
      "Note that 100% compatibility is not guaranteed since these are 3rd party after all. You assume full responsibility for what happens to your PC if you employ any of these voices. If you encounter issues with any voices we'll update this list to reflect it. " (quoted from Exergist at VoiceAttack Discord www.voiceattack.com/discord )

      I have several other profiles for VoiceAttack as well, but for all my game profiles I needed to make a framework that could bring systems like this custom PTT mode into any game profile I make (such as AVCS4 BMS or AVCS4 Ready or Not). I call it AVCS CORE. My Voice Calculator and my Voice Sensors & Weather profiles are more lightweight utility stand-alone profiles designed to be Global Profiles in VoiceAttack. Do you use the default Voice recognition API? I struggle getting voice attack to understand more than single phrases like „declare“. Do you have any recommendations?

      I am not sure what you mean by Voice recognition API... VoiceAttack uses Windows Speech Recognition Engine by default, unless you have changed this. In order for recognition to work, you need to train your WSR Profile (at least 3 times, completely through the training session). Press F1 when VoiceAttack is open and active under the mouse - check the Quick Start Guide near the top of the guide, and the Troubleshooting section near the end of the guide. You can also find some great tips for improving voice recognition in this post on the VoiceAttack forums: forum.voiceattack.com/smf/index.php?topic=1635.0

      @@SemlerPDX thats what i wanted to know, if you are using he default windows voice recognition or installed a different one. I use VA for over five years and did the training countless times. yet it doesnt seem to get any better at some point. I was impressed by the precision of VA picking up what you said.

      @@skippersmg (Edit: I am using default WSR, works beautifully) Delete your Windows Speech Recognition Profile. Start over. Something got messed up for you, and that is the place to start. Record your voice through your microphone, ensure it sounds normal. If it is all kinds of garbled up or messed up and other people can't understand what you say, like in a game or TeamSpeak, the Windows Speech Recognition engine isn't going to understand you either. After you are sure your microphone is good and understandable, start over with a new WSR profile running through the training session completely at least 3 times. My Aussie friend has an Australian accent (go figure) and had a rough time until he did the training a dozen times, but that seems excessive. If you don't have a strong regional accent, just train 3 times in a new profile after verifying your mic isn't outputting poor audio.
