    Such a great thorough explanation man! Supanova's vids have always been my gold standard of how tutorials should be made - but they are now getting more and more out of date. It's fantastic to have a new set of tutorials which are of the highest quality, and are even a little more practical than some of his!

      Thank you so much for the kind words! The way @supanova88 does his tutorials were definitely a big inspiration for how I make mine, and I think it shows. It's an honour to be put in the same quality standard as him.

      @@fisgasfighties :) FCR to me was the hardest topic to wrap my head around for some reason. Probably has to do with learning to rely on TWS before it got nerfed, and never using RWS SAM and DTT which the manual didn’t explain well IMO. You are an absolute scholar!

    • @fisgasfighties
      @fisgasfighties  7 місяців тому

      @Wheelman_PCAS I know exactly what you mean, back when I first started it took me ages to understand how the radar works and how to use it effectively. However lately I've not been having much success with taking engaging 2 different targets with RWS SAM. I think it's down to the fact that RWS doesn't generates track data for other contacts than the one you're tracking, even the bugged target seems like more of a "shortcut" rather than accurate target tracking. I'll cover that *spoiler alert* in the next video about the AMRAAM.

    Excellent tutorials that set the standard for how a tutorial video should be done! Subbed!
    As others have noted, with the more recent updates to BMS, many/most of the popular YT tutorials (Krause, Supanova, etc.) are now no longer applicable to the current version. I keep running into this as, after a 20+ year effort to get both a computer and a HOTAS setup that actually works in the sim, I am *finally* getting to enjoy BMS the way I have wanted to for so long (= not needing the keyboard at all in flight). Much of what worked/was standard for older versions simply do not work anymore, so you are doing a great service by making these time-saving videos for those that learn better and faster by doing than by purely reading the numerous BMS manuals. 🍻

    So many radar options! Is there a "workflow" of sorts based on range, i.e. what radar sub-mode do you use when x-miles from target steerpoint;? Do you switch sub-modes when fencing in? When AWACs provides contact info, do you switch to another sub-mode? Etc.

    • @fisgasfighties
      @fisgasfighties  2 місяці тому +1

      @@Jake-love939 as far as I personally handle the radar, there isn't a "workflow". I use the sub modes situationally.
      Most of the time I keep the radar in RWS and if I have engage up to two targets at the same time.
      If for some reason you have to engage more than 2 contacts at the same time, switch to TWS.
      If you're only engaging a single target, want to use all of your radar energy on it and the target being alerted that you're engaging it by its RWR isn't a concern, then upgrade the contact to STT.
      If the contact you're trying to engage is getting close to you, under 10nm , consider switching to ACM and try to acquire the target visually.
      Does that make sense?

    It's still got the graphic straight line in the horizon, they have to get rid of this if it ever competes with DCS/IL-2 graphically at least.

      When 4.38 is released with the new terrain I belive it will put BMS at least at the same graphical level as those sims. On other aspects it already surpasses them.
