Have you ever wanted to share the famous UA-cam video "Heavy is dead" with your family, but worried it might be too intense for Grandma? Fear not! After almost exactly 4 years, I proudly present to you "Heavy is Dead: Family-Friendly Edition." This slightly edited version allows you to enjoy this internet classic with your loved ones!
Now, in all seriousness, if you're unfamiliar with the video's reason to exist: it's a collaboration between myself and ShorK to bring to you this :

It was a true honor and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have the official Team Fortress 2 voice actors react to my silly video. I'm truly at a loss for words about what's happening. The Family-Friendly Edition version of the iconic Heavy is Dead video Shork and I have been cooking in order to have the TF2 cast be as comfortable as possible to recreate it.

it's family friendly in the sense that it stays away from things that are currently considered hot button or debate topics by the general media
foul language and dying via vehicular manslaughter is more socially acceptable than dying to a gunshot or suicide

Agreed, the censored gags are more creative imo. The sign falling onto heavy, Demo throwing the revolver, and Spy's noose getting cut only to be run over by a train are more creative ways to axe off characters than just blowing their brains out. That and I just was never a fan of Spy hanging himself

I'd say there's a difference between a 'clean' version and a censored version, this one replaces jokes in the original with others that keep the same intention rather than removing them altogether

Is it weird that I find some of the “Censored” bits more funny than some of the stuff in the OG? Purely because of the clever and creative ways Delak censored these. Sometime Family Friendly or Censored doesn’t always mean unfunny, and Delak shows how that can be done.

Demoman throwing the gun and Spy not hantging himself but instead falling victim to a random train are straigthm up IMPROVEMENTS from the original bcuz of how funny they are
(oh yea also heavy having the light falling on him instead of smashing into bits and guts is also funnier)
i think i actually prefer the demoman throwing the gun, the way he throws it is so magnificently timed

0:39 Heavy's skeleton has a new model with no blood on it, and he has traded his carton of milk for a sandwich.
1:09 Heavy's voice is pitched higher, he gets hit by a sign instead of exploding into bloody pieces, and he gets to say "Hahahaha, Heavy is back -ah, nevermind", instead of being cut at "Hahahaha, H-"
1:18 During the "oh god" Sniper reaction, there is no longer a cast of crash bandicoot characters (one of them used to point a gun to their temple)
1:23 Scout's line has been changed from "Clippity clop mother fucker, boom !" to "Heads up ladies, clippity clop everybody !"
1:56 Demoman throws the pistol instead of shooting it. Instead of the lads gaping at a dead Sniper, he is knocked out with stars above his head.
2:05 Demoman's earrape burps are actually louder.
2:36 Engineer dies very cleanly with no blood, and spawns himself in a grave.
2:40 Two corpses on the right of heavy are shown clean instead of covered in blood. They stay that way in the next shot.
2:43 The background has changed a lot, in preparation to the train scene.

2:57 On the final shot, the train body scene replaces Spy's hanging, Sniper's body has been moved next to Demoman's, and Engineer's head is no longer seperated from its body.

I like how it's also slightly slower with the dialogues, probably for the official actors who are older and wouldn't be able to keep with the speed of the original
Probably more because the original is sentence mixed so it can be as snappy and fast as it wishes to be, while this is real people having to do real voices.

I mean, scopes are for longer ranges so up close you'd miss more often, its kinda why tf2 snipers are known for being so tunnel-visioned
Maybe the pistol is having the same huntsman source spaghetti
it is pretty accurate though, since most engie mains rarely use pistols

@channelnamestudios2024 There was a rumor spread about Christians being raptured, or risen to heaven on April 8th because the solar eclipses' paths of visibility would cross on a place named rapture, and because the last time it happened, it crossed 7 cities called Salem.

I thought I was going crazy at first when watching the voice actor version, and knew something was off at “off to hang myself” part where I verbally said:“okay I know there wasn’t a train at this part, what’s going on?” I thought I had early onset dementia already, but no, now I got my answer.
Also demo throwing the gun instead of shooting it I think was a amazing improvement.
It caught me off so guard and got my laughing hard enough to run of air. Absolutely amazing work there.

After watching this with the original VA I can still confirm: My favorite change is Demoman throwing the gun.
I think the funniest thing about this version is the engineer missing his shot, so Heavy isn't actually dead at all.
I love that the actors actually watched this
Engineer completely missing but Heavy going along with it anyway is hilarious on its own, but I feel the original flows better.
The demonetized symbol rapidly inflating is just a flat out improvement.
Honestly can't decide if I like the fake skeleton or the real skeleton more. Heavy's expression on the fake is amazing though.
Also having a hard time picking between the street lamp and the spontaneous explosion, but his scream and the "nevermind" got me giggling like an idiot.
I definitely like the Demo actually killing the sniper better though. It adds so much more the the punchline.
But I also like engie doing the cartoon fall-backwards with a rose death before spontaneously turning into a grave right as the Heavy says "dead". That was great.
Spy hanging himself is too iconic to be outdone, but UA-cam cutting the rope is a nice gag, along with his confusion and the train.
Overall I think like most others I prefer the original, but there's a lot here I like better.
Truly a modern masterpiece, I really liked the point where the heavy died, really well written and cohesive story.
The original is by far the best, but I think the sign falling on the heavy after Medic kisses him might be funnier than the original.
