Added "(Heavy is Dead Parody)" to the title, because a few commenters seem to think I'm trying to take away credit from the original, when such was never my intention. I made this video as a fan of Delak and the original Heavy is Dead, and I would never try to discredit them.
In the original, there were two Heavies there, so it’s really clever because it takes the same scenario (Heavy randomly appearing behind everyone) to tell a completely different joke.
0:41 he takes exactly 15 seconds to turn into a zombified piglin, which is exactly how long it takes for a piglin to turn into one in game. amazing attention to detail
@@Lunarcreeper That also has a reason for it. Look closely, and you'll see there's a Polished Blackstone Button inside the Skeleton's skull. If you use a command to summon a Skeleton wearing a Button in the helmet slot, it won't burn in daylight.
i love how unlike most adaptations of this, the soldier picks up a completely different weapon from the one that is actually used, this has so much heart in it it’s great.
Funny story about that, actually. Earlier in the video, when the Villager was dancing into view, I had a hard time recreating the dance that Spy did in the original Heavy is Dead, so when I saw Scout dancing later, I realized it would probably be similarly difficult to recreate, so I thought to myself, "okay, what's a good excuse to not animate Steve dancing? Oh I know!" and then I animated my favourite joke of the whole video.

I love how the Villager doesn’t question the fact that there’s a Pillager who was right next to the body, and then, in the original, Engineer is literally on blu, while everyone else is red. This is literally so perfect.
I'm glad you liked it! I actually had the game open while making some parts to make sure I got things as accurate as I could. For example, if you look closely at the Skeleton, you can see a Button inside his skull, which is why he doesn't burn in daylight, despite him not wearing a Helmet.
Well with how destructive players are, making iron farms, looting villages, committing numerous war crimes, they're not exactly on the friendliest terms with mobs

I thought about that, but then I thought it'd be way funnier if the Witch had the only non-Minecraft weapon in the whole video. (Also, it matches the original joke from Heavy is Dead, where the character known for using projectiles shoots a hitscan weapon.)
In retrospect, I probably would've made the potion a Harming Potion, but when I was animating the scene, the Grimace Shake meme happened, so in the moment, I thought it'd be funny to make the potion purple when it kills him.
Tbh i thought this whould be bad but this version is... 'acxually very good.' Also the detail of Piglin Brute turning into a Zombified Piglin before being killed by the snow golem is some insane atention to detail since piglins do turn into zombies if they are too long in the overworld
Glad you liked it, I made sure to do my research with the little details. Piglins and Brutes become Zombified Piglins after spending 15 seconds in the Overworld, so I made sure the Brute turned exactly 15 seconds after appearing on-screen.
0:22 The attention to detail is so good that you can see the lower half of the skeleton is missing when he moves, which was the same for the Sniper in the original video because he was just a still PNG being moved around. Capturing the original is one thing, but intentionally re-making flaws is next level.
This may very well be the most underrated piece of media I've ever seen. As an animator myself, I can only imagine how AGONIZINGLY long it took to make it look this good.
Yeah, it certainly took longer than expected, mostly because I kept getting distracted at some points, but overall it was a fun challenge to recreate. Glad you liked it!

You know what's poetic about this? The scout and the player (steve and alex) can be seen as both annoying In the player's case, we are but a demigod foiling in the mob's natural states + the animations are the same as us having limitations vs the dynamic ones of other characters.

I honestly didn’t expect much from this, but wow! This was a great spin on a cult classic. All the little details and Easter eggs, like the Piglin becoming zombified, Snow Golem leaving behind a snow trail and everything else were executed masterfully!

Actually yeah, most of it was. I took a few creative liberties with a few of the scenes, but for the ones that play out identically to the original, I did actually go through frame-by-frame to make sure they were accurate.
