I always find myself returning to this video. It's just so epic!! I don't know how else to describe how awesome the context of the short is. It's the late 1960's and this mad doctor makes a major breakthrough in not only medical science, but a breakthrough in the fight versus the Blu mercenaries. This was the first instance of übercharge being used out on the field, so we can see the blind reactions of the red team, astonished as they put their weapons down and are forced to acknowledge that their medic, the person that they trust to aid to their need and heal their wounds, has created an unstoppable supernatural force. The music is so triumphant. The medic's experimentation has paid off. There is no way the the Blu team can stop them now, no matter how many soldiers they send.

Heavy still being alive and conscious with his heart out actually makes sense, as it does not keep you alive, it only pumpd blood that keeps you alive, so the blood still flowed by the time medic was ubercharging his heart.

Even after 13 years, I still notice more and more small details, like how the kickback from Heavy's new heart actually moves his arm up and down. This really stands the test of time.
A doctor who misplaces people’s skeletons, lost his medical license, made Heavy’s heart explode, breaks Heavy’s ribs and tells him that rips grow back and also does an operation without gloves... *sounds like the perfect doctor*
“Don’t worry, ribs grow back!” “No they don’t.” The Medic says as he manages to completely grow skin and organs worth thousands and thousands of healing using only a Blender taped to a Vacuum.
@@zerokoll20 technically he can but he chooses not to I like to think he probably had to painstakingly add a Demoman caveat to the medigun so it wouldn't automatically restore his eyeball
Maybe some of you noticed this, Medic walked slowly following his patient's pace and because the patient was Heavy his speed slowed down. I love this like Scout loves his ball
The baboon heart is actually based on a real-life transplant too! And the inter-character aspects are enhanced because Heavy said he had yet to meet some that could outsmart bullet, and then the Doctor outsmarted it. So many Easter eggs.
Fun fact: the medigun used in this video is the Quick Fix, which is only capable of faster healing. It broke after the first Ubercharge test but was repurposed to work as it does in-game whilst the default medigun was made as its replacement.
Seeing how fast it healed Demo & Scout, and after creating the Medigun, Medic must’ve gone back & improved on the Quick Fix 👏 minus the Uber otherwise it’d break again

@@seangiglio The classic(the shitty sniper weapon) also gibs on kill
If i remember correctly, the chance is 1/100
Even after 13 years, I still notice more and more small details, like how the kickback from Heavy's new heart actually moves his arm up and down. This really stands the test of time.
I kind of want to become a surgeon just so I can make the "anyway, that's how I lost my medical license" joke every time I talk to a patient.

A doctor who misplaces people’s skeletons, lost his medical license, made Heavy’s heart explode, breaks Heavy’s ribs and tells him that rips grow back and also does an operation without gloves...
*sounds like the perfect doctor*
*YES*
Oh come on, that's not true!
He stole the skeleton. Gotta make sure to give credit where credit is due.
medick
Still more qualified than any person in Canada
Vizaru Wait? If Med stole a mans skeleton, can't he easily "borrow" a rib from the guys skeleton and plop it in heavy???
“Don’t worry, ribs grow back!”
“No they don’t.”
The Medic says as he manages to completely grow skin and organs worth thousands and thousands of healing using only a Blender taped to a Vacuum.
But i mean it still didn’t grow back when he healed it, but still.
Maybe he cant grow it
Including clothes
+snipers piss
You can see the rib does not grow back.

I love how there’s a canon reason for why Medic’s medigun doesn’t restore Demoman’s eye
Which one?
@@handhelder823 the left eye,
his eye socket is haunted
It is capable of restoring the eye. However, the eye simply becomes a new Monoculus.
He can´t. Haunted eye socket.
@@zerokoll20 technically he can but he chooses not to

The baboon heart is actually based on a real-life transplant too!
And the inter-character aspects are enhanced because Heavy said he had yet to meet some that could outsmart bullet, and then the Doctor outsmarted it.
So many Easter eggs.
the heart went down when he dropped the baboon heart in it too
Fun fact: the medigun used in this video is the Quick Fix, which is only capable of faster healing.
