Well, Greg definitely smashed the wine bottle in Shiv’s face…
Never fuck with Greg the egg
Watching him smile as Shiv looked at him through the window was gold for me
@@filipmijac9328 the shot was perfect. passed one window with a classic Greg "idk what happened" shrug to a Machiavellian smirk in the next. Greg is learning fast from the Roy's

just wait for the wine bottle he smashes in toms face
Kendall mockingly going "I, I, I.." is reminiscent of Logan mocking her in Italy.
Shiv underestimated Greg by not offering him something.
Great scene. I like how when Ken calls Shiv a piece of dirt she’s genuinely taken aback, it’s like a “damn… he really meant that and is genuinely disgusted with me”
I was very weirded out by the choice of the word "dirt" instead of "shit".
The dialogue is supreme but word choices in this show always boggle me.

Shiv has become Kendall from the beginning of the show. She’s now the black sheep.
She's always been. That why this scenario has been particularly predictable
@@quantumwitcher9376 She was never the black sheep, it's just that she was never involved in the company like Kendall and Roman, just politics but despite this she wants the top job.
God every episode this season is epic. Watched this one twice already. Several times over this series Greg has asked "Hey, what about me?" and he always gets jerked around, and it always comes back to bite whoever he asked. Take care of Greg!
The sinister smile of cousin Greg.. goosebumps!!
Kendall reminds me of Al Pacino when he learned that he was betrayed by his own brother Fredo in The Godfather 2. 😬
Shiv's really bad at offering other people incentives, when it's not based on some kind of political angle.
She completely fumbled the opportunity to win Gerri over when she found out that Roman was sending her dick pics. She completely fumbled the opportunity to reignite a partnership with Tom when he offered to get back together and she seemed open to it, especially since she was on the other side of her brothers. She completely failed to get Mattson to offer her something solid after backstabbing her brothers, and she completely failed to offer Greg anything of substance to cover for her.
Shiv was right very early on, going way back to season 1: she was supposed to be in politics, not business. The only reason why she's trying to be in the business and why she plays that game, is because Logan promised her that he would give the business over to her, but even after he did, he still wanted her to go through training of the business...but she doesn't want to. She just wants the business for the sake of power, but doesn't really have any idea what to do with it, which is why all her wins are temporary and usually don't go anywhere.
as always Shiv overestimates her own intelligence and capability, underestimates everyone else's and is woefully unprepared to navigate situations where her name alone isn't enough to make people bend over for her
@@shakastaka8678 great takes from both of you, I am convinced that out of the three siblings, she will hit rock bottom the hardest. I don't see any redemption or positive final outcome for her character. The typical aging, bitter, business oriented western woman who sacrificed everything for a career and who will end up alone and sad. I am still not even convinced she is pregnant after all the lies and deceptions she pulled on Tom through the show, gets to show you how untrustworthy Shiv is.
Silence is golden
I’m gonna say it… I’m gonna say it, I’m sorry but I’m gonna say it: This is the moment when Walter White became Heisenberg.
Kendall spent this episode scraping desperately for his last shred of humanity, doing everything to convince himself to come back from the brink, Roman representing the pragmatic devil on his shoulder and Shiv being the hypocritical, sanctimonious angel. In the end, it didn’t come down to ideology or talking points. The last thing that Kendall truly held sacred (other than his children, whom he can convince himself he’s working for no matter what he does) was the bond with his siblings, forged in his confession about the vehicular manslaughter incident and cemented in their father’s death.
Shiv’s betrayal, following how much he had confided in her and how much vulnerability he had shown her as his only sister (which is so much more than you show your brothers as a man) proved to Kendall once and for all what he was trying to prevent himself from believing.
The truth doesn’t matter. Morality doesn’t matter. Friendship doesn’t matter. Emotions don’t matter. Family doesn’t matter.
All that matters is winning, and the loyalties built on mutual self interest that will get you to that point. Now that Kendall’s dropped the final anchor, nothing’s stopping him from transforming into his father, a man without love who trusts no one and uses every tool in his arsenal to destroy his enemies.
Roman might have thought he was the real winner out of the siblings tonight, and Shiv will try to play whatever angles she can from the outside with Mattson, but unlike Roman, Kendall isn’t becoming his father just for the sake of imitating him.
Through great personal conflict and pain, Kendall finally, truly sees why his father was the man that he was. Life’s not knights on horseback. It’s a number on a piece of paper, it’s a fight for a knife in the mud. He’s learned these lessons the hard way, and the final two episodes will show us the beast that emerges from the flames.
Holy fucking shit this show is amazing.
Well I really fucking hope that whatever you're saying DOES happen. Good analysis.
If I could, I'd nominate this comment for a Pulitzer. Spot fucking on. This is the kind of analysis I'd always hoped to read about Kendall; it's exactly what I've been brewing on throughout the entire series but couldn't articulate. Bravo.
The sad thing is though, Kendall allowing Mencken to be called for the Presidency will not affect him one iota, zip. Whatever happens with Waystar, Kendall and the other three will be rich beyond their wildest dreams.
The thing about Kendall is, out of all the siblings he feels the most guilty about the Wealth he's been born into, and deep down he doesn't feel like he deserves it, but doesn't want to give it up either. So he wants to be seen as his own man, Self made and separate from his Father, but he isn't... When it comes down to it, he is the son of a Billionaire. That's what his whole Season 3 arc was about. He is self aware, and that's what makes his actions in this episode, that much worse. He's not acting out of some kind of misdirected grief or insecurity like Roman or Shiv. He's being calculated.
When he saw his name on that piece of paper (Underlined/Crossed Out?) he felt validated. He felt like his dad (At least at some point) saw him as worthy of being his Successor. And that's when his ambition began taking over his self awareness.
I think one of two things will happen in the Finale, and neither of them good for Kendall.
Either, he will get Waystar by manoeuvring in such a way that it completely crushes any semblance of a conscience he has left. Leaving him as the Top Dog but deeply unhappy and wracked with an enormous sense of guilt he will have to bury deep inside him to stay at the top. He will, without realising it become the very thing he fears: Just like Logan.
Or, Shiv will use the information she has about the dead waiter and make it public, along with Roman's dick pick scandal and bury them both. Roman's miss step may well be forgiven in time, but Kendall will be a rich social pariah forever, sort of like an OJ Simpson, and may even wind up in legal trouble.
Whoever does the most fucked up thing will win in the end!!
@kryss.4725 a pulitzer for being wrong about a tv show 💀
Cringe.
Don't fuck with Greg
Shiv underestimated him big time.
I was WAITING for it all to come crashing down on her 💀🍿 I acknowledge her caring for the health of democracy but Shiv also appears to believe she is a master manipulator and smarter than everyone so she can play everyone as she pleases but these same folk are who she decries behind closed doors and betrays. This scene was inevitable.
Shiv is such a snake. She cheats on a loyal Tom in the early seasons, turns it around on him being the asshole. She acts like she's apart of this alliance with her brothers when the last 3 seasons all she's wanted was to destroy them, at least Kendall maybe not Roman. She's heartless, and she never had loyalty to the family. She literally joined a presidential campaign of a guy who her dad and ATN hated and vice versa. She's an evil person. She's a great actor
This scene is so fucking wild. It's Shiv in a room with three other people that should be on her side, if not for her doing the dumb version of Machiavellianism all season
That walk when Kendall snaps his neck to look at Shiv before confirming with Greg was KLR awakening!!!
Roman is a monster but at least he's a monster who acknowledges who he really is. Shiv is horrible but she wears this mask of being righteous. Of the three, I think she is the worst and I think the scary thing is, she thinks she's better than all of them.
That LOOK from Kendall, oh my GoJo Stock price
1:49 the thumbs up hahaha my favourite moment in the episode even though it's so minor
Shiv shoulda gave Greg some options. Never underestimate Greg.
Amazing scene. Jeremy Strong manages to show us how hurt Kendall is about Shiv lying to him, but at the same time makes clear that at the end of the day Kendall keeps making terrible decision based on vengeance and pity
Terrible decision personally but good decision from business perspective

1:23 I laugh every single time.
I love how Tom completely ignores Shiv lol
Roman's "tooooorrrr toootooootoo torrrtoortor" 😂
This is the moment Kendall becomes Heisenberg
Shiv thought she was gonna jump to greener pastures and Maddsen is her knight in shining armor. Maddsen is either playing dumb to syphon information from Shiv or he's an idiot and she isn't smart enough to see it. Right now Kendell and Rome are CEOs and Rome has the President elect's ear, who will kill the deal. There's literally no way out for her from this. There have been a lot of betrayals on this show but this one might take the cake. It's too egregious to recover from. Her only saving grace is if theres a recount or something that flips a few states and Jiminez gets in there.
If Tom is the Pontius Pilate, what are you Shiv?
“I,I,I,I,I,I,I,I,I,I,I” 0:40😅
A lot of people in the comments seem to be forgetting the fact that Shiv has lots of ways to destroy her brothers. And at this point I think this is the most possible outcome in the series, Shiv is going to burn down everything down exposing Roman's harassment to Gerri and Kendall's involvement in the death of the waiter
Damn, totally forgot about that!
I hope she goes scorched earth but I doubt it
Yeah the cruise stuff was 10 times that. Doesn't work.
@@IwinMahWay You remember they were ready to let Kendall go to jail for the cruise stuff, right? The only thing that saved him was the fact that he decided to turn the table
She can easily get roman. His racist and sexist comments that he keeps making- like the one about the Blacks and the Jews in this episode - will also help fuck him. But i don't think she really has much on Kendall is the problem. She has no proof about the waiter thing. It's just her word, and that's not gonna fly when there's a known rift and disagreement about the company. It'll play as too obviously Machiavellian.
I can't be in Shiv position right now she lost everything and everyone in one second
People are taking Shiv for granted, Shiv is certainly not the smartest, but she is the angriest and she has a lot of information that she will definitely use to screw everyone over, even if she gets burned too.
she will go nowhere like always
Shiv spent 4 seasons trying to manipulate people to her advantage and has spent 4 seasons eating walls every single time as a result. Doesn't look like it's going in any other direction atm lol
@@frname7665 Trying to be manipulative and cunning is not the same as being compulsive and dropping an information bomb
@@Andy-nv6ys So let me rephrase it: Shiv spent 4 seasons trying to act to her advantage to the detriment of everyone else and has spent 4 seasons eating walls every single time as a result.
And now we see why Logan was so hesitant to bring Shiv on board and give her power. She's all about the politics and what this and that means for the country. Logan never gave a fuck about any of that, neither do Kendall or Roman. They don't care about the greater good, just what's best for the company or themselves.
Shiv speaks a strange language
TOM!
I may be stupid but what is the significance of the declaration of the winner early? They’re a news broadcaster, they don’t actually decide do they? Surely the votes are actually counted by a proper legal body? So what’s the big deal. He did win right? Excuse my ignorance but I don’t understand shit how the US voting system works, enjoyed the episode tho
I am thinking the same thing. If anyone can explain please do. How does a media company influence the election day result?
The media uses an exit polls and get enough samples to predict the vote.
In my country Indonesia, this is called a quick count... you take a few thousand samples, you can predict the winner on select districts with a very small margin of error. Why wait if we can statistically predict the result with high level of accuracy.
It has always been the tradition in the US to unnoficially declare winner and losers based on those exit polls announced by the media. Since they are pretty accurate, the presidential candidate usually concede or accept nomination at this point without waiting for the official announcement and ballot count.
At least, thats how I understand it from living in the US for 15 years.
You are right but in this case they called it early for Wisconsin where there was a situation that some voting ballots were lit on fire but Mencken did have a significant lead there but yeah that was the jest of it.
All this episode did was confirm what i always knew. Shiv has no business being there. She was into politics and all of what she did in that episode was try to influence the victory towards her preferred choice for President. It wasn’t for anything business wise or her play to a future with madsen. It was just for politics. She’s not serious.
ADB Productions had nothing to do with HBO or the show or the show runners, writers, or production team. ADB Productions just ripped a clip and dumped it on yt. good job! good on you jack!
I honestly thought this might have been the weakest episode of the season. Having said that, it was still good. The season has been excellent. I just felt this one was a bit slow out of the gate but it picked up about a quarter of the way in.
Reminds me of battlestar galactica when they thought of stealing the election…damned both ways….
Shit will go down now. Mencken will make a case against Waystar Royco to cleanse his image and Waystar will go broke
Wtf guy, your whole video title is a spoiler, thanks for ruining it for everyone who didn't watch it live!
I have always rooted whole heartedly for Kendall from episode 1 until the last few episodes. Now I am not rooting for him nor any of the siblings. I don't want any of them to win.
Where has Marcia been? We have seen her once. Wasn't she given a seat or seats on the Family Trust and on the Board? She has been a very silent gold digger since she became the Widow Roy?
Good for Greg. This was another failed read on the situation by Shiv. Greg is the guy you pay off, not kill…
Shiv never watched Michael Clayton
Never underestimate cousin Greg
"What greg wants, greg must have"
Logan understand him best
Also, Greg is way smarter than any of his cousins. Keep it neutral and playing both sides.
Greg could have won by doing nothing. He was stupid for staying in the game when he could have inherited a lot more by staying on better terms with Ewen.
I think Sarah Snook's performance here was incredible. That feeling you get when you get caught in a lie and have absolutely zero idea of how to recover just makes you feel and come off as so stupid. The stutters, the illogical things that do manage to come out...she captured all of that so perfectly. Easily made this my favorite scene in the episode

Kendall is the last person who should be making fun of someone stuttering though haha
0:38 LMAO ITS LIKE THE 30TH TIME IN THE SHOW THAT SHIV IS HUMILHATED LIKE THIS
The acting this season is top-notch. Everyone on the show deserves an Emmy award, even Jess:)
Amo a Jess
Kendall Roy is truly Michael Corleone, clumsy in the beginning and then slowly but surely growing and becoming even more cynical and straight-forward than his dad. He's gonna end up with the crown, all alone on the throne. He's not hesitant, he's cunning, he makes the moves and he actually acts on everything he finds to be the right move. Fikret.
Shiv is irresponsible, erratic, a coward and a cheater. Romulus simply doesn't think in scope and fucked himself with the Gerri situation, all while still being a child.
Yup the first scene of the show is Kendall and the last scene of the show will be Kendall with him as the so called king
idk. we see kendall very unstable too. he has a very weak self image. he was about to switch to jimene cuz he doubted he was a good person, then he said f**k shiv we going w mencken cuz his feelings got hurt, cuz in reality Ken just wants to be "the" guy. he is extremely desperate to be seen as the leader which is why he doesnt like mencken. mencken likes rome, not ken. He is hesitant too idk why u say he is. this entire episode he hesitated every move until the end. i dont like any of the sibligns. greg the egg ftw
Except Kendall disregarded the concern of the people (mainly his family) and choose to just fuck with Shiv.
@@Lampsadvice he chose it because Jimenez won’t block the deal
@@mike365fly some people just can’t cut a deal
That awkward moment when the fate of the nation revolved around Shiv being nice to Tom on a semi-regular basis.
A lot of Shiv fans in the comments salty that Kendall is going to win and she’s going to be alone. Pinky made her bed with Mattson. Roman made his bed with Gerri. And before everybody starts grasping at straws with the waiter. All the evidence is gone, Logan driver is already in Ken’s pocket so they aren’t going to go there. My boy Kendall becomes Logan at the end of this funeral. I will say. I do feel bad for Roman bc he was given a raw deal. But that’s life.
@Chuck Buskee gerri wont say shi because it doesn't serve her interests.
Waiter stuff is done. Cruise stuff was 20 times. She's done.
@Chuck Buskee and u know how the show works cause you created it right ?
@Chuck Buskee how arrogant are you to think that just because you have a different opinion it makes you smarter ? 😂 it’s a fictional show you don’t know shit and the other guy Dosent know shit it’s just a difference of opinion you don’t have to get hard just because people don’t share the same opinion as you.
@Chuck Buskee settle down Chuck. You are becoming the definition of a salty Shiv fan. I’ve been watching every episode from the beginning. When did they reference the waiter this season? Also where would the continuity be? The cruise debacle was far worse and Kendall didn’t actually kill the waiter. Waiter killed himself in that crash. Logan covered it all up and there is no proof. Also, if you don’t understand that at this point Kendall is becoming Logan. You’re lost. They have literally been foreshadowing it (hitting you in the head with it) since the letter episode. It’s over man. Let it go.
@Chuck Buskee if things go your way ill apologise in this comment section. And if things go my way I'll play boar on the floor with whatever nuerons are left in your brain.
She always has some options and brings that up every time she screws up. Definitely, the weakest link in the company, a sitting duck for every advisory they had.
All Shiv had to do was agree a deal with Greg lmao, he ended up hitting her alive
I like how after episode 9 you realize Shiv really did not care about the future of the country she really just didn't want to lose the job.
nope cant see myself siding with shiv at all here no. she really is clueless when it comes to strategy. no wonder her resume as a political consultant is filled with failures from the congresswoman in season 1 to gil and ultimately she couldnt get her guy to be president
If shiv threw a bone to gregg he would have saved her .......but he smashed the wine bottle on her face
I hate all 3 siblings equally at this point, but it was so great to see Ken finally make a real power play even his father would respect. I also love Tom staring Shiv down as he made the phone call to call it, Tom gives zero shits about Shiv right now.
They scooby dooed shiv😂
The benefits of attending Hanna Barbera Business School
Every once in a while I'll see acting performances and think 'Why do people praise actors so much, this doesn't seem too hard to do". Then I'll watch performances like Sarah's here and realized "Yeah, this is fucking acting and is fucking incredible". What a cast, holy shit.
The music has stopped and Shiv does'nt have a chair.
love how kendall delivers "dirt"
Shiv getting absolutely cooked this season and I’m just watching with popcorn and a smile
Remember when shiv called them dumb and dumber
I tought that i was the only one that saw Greg smilling, none of my frieds caught that
"Sorry! what?"...amazing small touch!
“You piece of DIRT” killed me 🤣
Throughout the series, Kendall and Shiv wish they could trade places. Shiv wants the professional respect that Logan bestows upon Kendall. Kendall wants the personal affection that Logan bestowed upon Shiv.
1:47 I love the Kendall "I don't give a fuck" mood
Ken and Roman are basically toying with her, a spoiled hysterical sister who cried and fell off the stairs in 4th episode
Imo, I think Shiv is like half genuine with her concern.
Even Kendall wasn’t in support of it until he felt betrayed by Shiv
0:51 Shiv: *stutter noises*
Roman: u-huh weeellll mencken.
Roman: mencken right?
Ken: mencken
Roman: menken
Shiv: NO WHA-
Roman: TOM!'
Succession dialogue is life lol this season
I almost feel bad for shiv; she's turned everyone against her including her own husband and her two brothers. She really couldn't have played this worse, and the worst part is she was right in this situation and maybe could've convinced kendall if she played things even slightly better
Insane scene ,, like too good
Me when I help make a facist president because my feelings were hurt after my sister lied to me
