In the Storm Zuko did say “the safety of the crew doesn’t matter” and that “finding the avatar is more important than any individual’s safety” more tame versions than saying “ we will die trying”. But Zuko definitely made comments like this
ALSO! Notice how they did the black and white in the shot of zuko and iroh at the northern water tribe - the moon spirit is dead! I’ve always loved the visuals of that sequence were the only color we see comes from fire or water
I honestly knew the exposition was going to throw people off, especially new comers. There’s just so much story and lore that’s need to be accommodated. But I am happy for the reviews and still just as excited for next week!
@@yomamma.ismydaddy216 The opening of the cartoon is, itself, an exposition. Not to mention every time Aang comes into contact with Roku, there's exposition. Overall there are many moments in the cartoon dedicated to explaining the world and so on. The difference is that due to the number of episodes you don't feel as much..
@@MsAkatsuki09 I don’t see how any of that even matters to the point at hand, obviously they didn’t do whatever exposition they did as well as it was done in the original or they wouldn’t be complaining about it
@@yomamma.ismydaddy216 yep, I'm not disagreeing that there is exposition, there really must be... I'm just saying that there are exposition moments also in the cartoon.
BRO THIS IS GOING TO BE EPIC!! I've been a huge fan since the day the first episode came out on nickelodeon. I'm not gonna hate on something I haven't seen
I'm glad to see people being critical versus over praising it or outright trying to hate on it. If there are gripes about the show but it's otherwise pretty good, maybe they can course correct things in Season 2 and dial it in even tighter. In no way is this ever going to beat the animated series but I'm down for the live action so far.
Too much negativity might hinder the possibility of more seasons though? There are plenty of people who are hating to hate or only hating because they love the animated version way too much
@drchtct Exactly though. A lot of people will hate the live action because of nostalgia. It's part of the reason I don't like the last of us series very much. They dumbed down a lot of the parts of the game that they should have. My criticism is valid, but i can still see why people like it and they made a pretty good effort with it. So im not gonna hate on it too much.
The few negative reviews are like: "it's way too long"... Ou..."The show is in a rush" ...Can't take it seriously 😅 Speaking of which, it surprised me that Mike Dimartino was there.
@@MrE_ I wouldn't call these two comments regarding the time of the episode "rational" criticism, on the contrary... If one thinks the episode is long, the other thinks it is short, it means that the criticism was completely personal and it doesn't indicate anything about the quality of the episode itself. And I only mentioned one example, but there are others. There are critics saying that the bendings are bad, others saying that it's one of the only high points, like...? You can't trust it... the point is to watch and check for yourself.
@@MsAkatsuki09 Well yeah but it's clear you already have your mind made up despite not seeing it yet. I'll trust both negative and positive reviews from people who have actually watched it rather than your biased assumptions.
I agree , and also make ppl lows it’s expectations , so they don’t get disappointed so much when they watch the show . The low the expectations r the more they enjoy the show
@@uncleirohsteashop I still have some hope for this show. All of the actors seem really excited about this and at least it has more content that can be easily put into live action. At least more then One Piece...
I never judge a series by the first 2 episodes. The cast is just getting to know each other and act on the same stage. It takes a few episodes to feel organic, including the production. If you're able to get over your personal opinions to give something a chance to develop, shows usually iron themselves out very shortly.
@@charismatic9467 Pilots are shot first. At least 5 first episodes are shot at a time. Scripts aren't even divulged until the day before a reading rehearsal to prevent leaks. Have you worked on a set? Known anyone who has? I have. I could go on about why the order is as it is, but it would take too many characters. Your claim that they are shot "wildly out of order" is simply ridiculous. There is no way of knowing what could happen to a cast member that could cause recasting. Only a set number of episodes are shot at a time because of this and due to spoiler concerns.
@@charismatic9467 Contracts don't account for unforeseen circumstances. You must be 12 since you've never heard or seen actors leaving projects mid-filming. I supposed those who die, go into rehab, or commit crimes still play the role. JFC some people's kids. Also, stop liking your own comments. It's pathetic.
@@ladylily Nice change of the argument. You stated that pilots are shot first and I stated this show didn't have a pilot or have to shoot before being contracted. So you're wrong, then switch to a different argument no one is making. You think shows are shot in sequential order which shows you are wildly misinformed. Pathetic lmao
Seeing Mike Dimartino in the photos was surprising! It’s really nice to see that he’s still interested in what they created. I hope the original creators end up liking the show and pushes their passion even more to create more wonderful new stories for their franchise.
People are always gonna complain. Even if Netflix makes the anime exactly 100% similar to anime, then also there would be some whining about VFX, acting or shit. It's best to keep an open mind. I know adaptation cannot be exact but as long as they get the essence of the show and does not make some stupid decision or changes, I can go with it. I am already impressed with the cast being fully asian, the world being so realistic and bending & action looking so interesting. I am just hoping the changes make sense, the take is balanced between dark & light-hearted moments, and the acting esp the action scenes are done well.
I'm excited that everyone thinks the Bending is good, even negative ones. Honestly that's all I care about. I can go watch the original for everything else lol. I want to see high quality life-like visuals and Bending
I was the type of fan who thought like that, you know? Live-action has to be 100% and else. But after "The Lion King", I changed my mind. Repeating the story 100%, frame by frame, destroys the "replay" factor. You just don't feel like clicking and watching it again and again. It is necessary to bring new things.
@@MsAkatsuki09 I'm glad you came around on the matter. I just think making a 1:1 recreation of a show/movie, just in a different format, is incredibly boring and doesn't really give much purpose for an adaptation to exist. The point of an adaptation is to retell a story in a new way that's interesting and feels fresh; as long as they keep the core essence of the plot and characters, the making minor tweaks to things like locations, minor story beats, and finer details isn't just something they have to do, but something I think actively makes an adaptation better because it makes it its own thing. The key is just to do it without altering what did make the original so well loved, which is what the movie did wrong; it was TOO original, and frankly it was just a bad movie even if you do ignore the source material
@@itsmeike Exactly! There will be scenes that, if people want to see, they will have to watch live action, like the opening sequence of the attack on the air nomads, etc. This gives its own light to a live-action series
I really liked Azula in this new clip. The small movement like a sneer of satisfaction the actress does with her lips got me excited about her performance. I'm glad you said the fire might be orange because of her still practicing, before she manages to bend blue flame, which would be a cool development for the show. Many fans are instantly getting angry because they think they left her fire orange.
@@ovs4744 just because an animated version depicts what a character looks like doesn't mean the live action has to get every single muscle on the girls body to proportion. Her crazy personality is more important then how chubby or not chubby her face is.
@@uncleirohsteashop yeah look at the casting, they definitely didn’t think people cared about the actors looking like the characters…………. Her personality also isn’t crazy for 99% of the series but intimidating because of how good she is at fighting.
I really can't wait to watch it. I know many fans is worry but try not to compare animated with live action, because that's what I always see why some fans is hate the live action, "why they don't do...., why they do this..., why they remove it..." that's the problem, ATLA Animated series will still be the legend, but this will be the best live action (not compared). And most important is enjoy the show first
The negative reactions seem to be from people who just don't think a live action should be made. Pacing and writing is going to be hard since there isn't quite as much time. We all know its not gonna be perfect. And it probably does need less exposition and I already know with 8 episodes pacing is going to be very different. But that's why we shouldn't be comparing too much. If we all have super high expectations, or already think its bad because the cartoon should stay a cartoon, then it's going to be a huge letdown
I think they could also be from people who just don't understand the cartoon as much. These reactions feel like they could be similar to One Piece in the sense that I guarantee not everyone who reviewed and reacted to One Piece had seen the anime.
I'll reserve my judgement for this series for when I see it myself. Can't judge it based on critics. From all the promo's, pics etc. I've seen so far it sounds and looks very promising.
There was one who mentioned that it looked like the VFX weren't finished and it's like ... yeah it's not the final VFX shots. Still the more positive reviews just make me all the more excited.
I'm so happy to see love for the series coming out of the premiere, and I'm sooo excited for next week when we can all binge it for ourself! ❤️ I'm glad that the love for Zuko in particular seems pretty universal even from the more pessimistic people.
Hey, I hardly ever leave comments but I truly believe you deserve a spot at the premier. I will say for all of the years I’ve watched ATLA on UA-cam you are a newer page that I have found, but quickly becoming one of my favorite. You do great work and I want you to know I appreciate you and what you do!
Wow thank you man that's very kind of you! Truly I appreciate that and hopefully one day I can get big enough to garner a great community that can support me to go to a premiere in the future.
Wait those were air nomads? I never got that intention especially given none of them are bald and also in the timeline of things that wouldn't make sense because they all should be dead.
Me finally pulling up to one of these videos with my jasmine tea in hand 🍵 I followed everything The Avatarist was doing while he was at the premiere and heard his live stream the following day, no spoilers thankfully! It really sounds like it's an amazing adaptation. Essentially, if you want beat for beat, you'll be disappointed, but if you're open to changes, it feels like Avatar and IS AVATAR! Which I'm glad to hear because a shot-for-shot recreation would be boring. Apparently, people were crying during the premiere screening it was that emotional. So I'm excited. My only regret is I didn't take PTO to binge the series when it drops next week.
I've seen a lot of supposed fans calling some scenes of the show "garbage" or something. They should quit pretending to be fans. As a fan, you don't have to accept the adaptation or like it, but you must at least keep it civil and not call someone's work trash when it clearly is not bad, just not as good as you wished. One Piece fans supported the show for the actors who played the iconic characters, but I'll I can see in the ATLA fandom is hate and more hate.
there are actually a lot of One Piece fans that didn't like the live action and were not being very quiet or civil about it in the least, it's just that they got overshadowed by all the positive reactions, most notably /after/ the show had actually aired. I have a feeling it will be similar with ATLA - there's the people who don't want a live action and are going into the trailers and clips and rumors looking for things to hate on and are being loud about it rn, but there is a good share of fans who quite literally are just waiting for the show to be released before making up their mind about it, and will add on to the buzz about the show when there's more substantial things to base their opinions on
@@tova1412 Exactly, those who don't want live-action will always look for reasons to criticize. What will happen is the same as One Piece... It will be so successful that the criticism will gradually be ignored.
All the visuals, costumes, hair and makeup look completely amateurish. It honestly feels like a modern Disney Channel show. I was so excited for this before parts of it were shown. It just looks so underwhelming. I don't think I can get past the terrible CGI and stuff.
I always think it’s funny when people say a 1 hour episode is too long… like have watched LOTR? Or any movie? The episode covers 60 minutes of animation in… 60 minutes, TikTok attention span by JJ I agree that the volume it’s shit but it’s the best we have for fantasy shows, we can’t just build an air temple, we either have real life or the volume, it is what it is, the Star Wars prequels looked way worse with their green screens and video game like animations
That's a fair point it would be hard to build out those large scale locations of where those characters go but ya it seems the volume is being a little overused given what it did for The Mandalorian
Lol for some reason I thought that fire was in front of those people but when I rewatched the clip after the video came went up I then realized the fire was on them

Albert Kim's new X post shows him and Mike. It's like his way of saying "Wazzup" to the crybabies, esp. those who keep on posting the "that's why the creators left" comments... Btw, Mike and Bryan were the writers of the first episode. So it'll be interesting how the other episodes were executed since Netflix always say it's a faithful remix.

That's The Sword and the Pen Reflections talking to Bryke! Wonder if she'll have a video on her experience at the premier. Also, thanks for breaking down the new teaser cuz I was racking my brain about that throne room scene with that guy. If it's a bettayal, maybe it's similar to Ozai's bait strategy that Zuko protested against in the war meeting....idk.
7:35 yeah I’m pretty sure it’s in the northern water tribe because of these 3 things 1. Uncle Iroh’s clothes are more fire nationy because he “joined” Zhoa’s team 2 & 3. These are both about Zuko so first if you look at his normal eye it has that tiny scar and his clothes are the same as the cartoon when Zuko was in the northern water tribe
Not sure if I would go that far but I would again be curious to know if they have watched the original before or not (not saying that's a requirement to be clear)
Agreed... There are those who Just don't think the live-action should exist, and they start looking for every little detail and turning it into a disaster. These are usually baseless criticisms, like a guy who commented that Ba-Sing-Se wouldn't appear in the second season...like...that's not even confirmed 😅
@@Jake-ox2rd oh no don't get me wrong I don't disagree with that at all but I don't know if any of those people got a chance to see the episodes during the premiere is what I am saying
Was really looking forward to today's jasmine tea! The vast majority of reactions last night are positive and encouraging. You can be sure that if it truly sucked people would not be holding back and there would NOT be a majority praising it. The fans at the premiere would let loose and rip it apart. So, my anticipation grows even more! I notice you haven't commented yet on the clips that were released on the Avatar/Netflix Instagram account. They have a lot of cool little things that are Avatar related (such as a dragon dance on the Lunar New Year with a character in Appa and Aang costume dancing with cabbages) and a clip of Bumi and Aang with a teeny tiny amount of new footage.
That's also a fair point to mention even some of the more mixed bag and negative reactions include positives in then so again I am still open minded. Regarding the Instagram stuff I have seen all of that and personally I didn't think that stuff needed it's own video.
@@uncleirohsteashop That's cool, just wasn't sure if you knew 🙂 I loved that cabbages were included in the dragon dance. Lots of fans have been positing whether or not the cabbage man will be featured, even though we know the original voice actor was cast for the role. It was still nice to see those cabbages being handed out. A little nod to the fans I think.
I love how David Op references that Iroh quote " If you look for the light, you can often find it. But if you look for the dark that is all you will ever see"

People are never satisfied with what a writer or producer gives the fans. Weather it's a show or a movie. Idk yet if the Netflix live-action show will be good or not. I'll know when I watch it. I'm just happy that I'm getting a dream come true of mine actually happening. A avatar the last airbender live-action series.
I feel like if you are going into this trying to compare everything to the animated show you will be disappointed. In my opinion if you just watch to be entertained then I think you will have a better comprehension on whether this live action show is good or bad.
That's how I go about it, I recognize this might be as good as the cartoon but also not be as close to the original. It's an adaptation after all and so what I want to see is that the feel of Avatar is still there.
I'll seriously will not let these critics affect how I view this show. Whatever happens, I know for sure it is going to be wayyyy tooo better than the long forgotten knightshamamovie. Also, can we just please appreciate this team's hard work and effort for making a live action series for the Avatar The Last Airbender? People are just too pickety-perfect these days. They tend to forget the enjoyable moments of this precious life, which is surely going to happen on February 22. Thank you, Team Avatar ❤❤❤!
I mean most TV Shows have a bit more exposition in the first episode or 2, so I wouldn't be too worried about that. Like I said elsewhere as long as the bending is better than the 2010 "lets have 5 guys dance to move 1 pebble" I'll be happy. It does take me like 3-4 days to binge the Cartoon version lol. I binged it at the start of this month, but I think I'll do it again just before the 22nd.
i'm optimistic for seasons 2 and 3 more than anything, which in my opinion are the best seasons of the animated series. I don't expect this first season of the live action to be perfect but if it's good enough that means it will only get better in the next seasons
why do i feel like this 7:33, is the scene where zhao kills the moon spirit, cuz the lighting kinda looks like it ( if u know what i mean), but i dont know why zuko is here
twitter is a sh*tstorm, so many influencers there with their quote retweets are slamming the teaser with bumi saying its going to be awful. i have faith this new remake will be great but the damage mightve already been done to the marketing and potential viewership on netflix
Nah, Twitter is full of haters. I have literally seen dozens and dozens of so-called fans criticize every single thing they see in the trailers and clips, and they get push back from real fans. They criticize, hair (too good, too bad), costumes (too good or too bad), shape of face (too long, too short), actor's voice (nothing like them, or slightly off), size of a character's nose (too big, too small), costumes (too realistic, not realistic enough), the setting, the effects, the type of shoes, etc... It's absolutely insane! It's almost like people want to complain just to complain, or else their IQ is pretty damned low because there is no reasonable and mature adult who can criticize every single little thing about a show that by all accounts is going to be epic. When Harry Potter was turned into movies there were fans who were disappointed by a few changes, but eventually they got over it and the movies became classics. I really hope that this live-action show does the same otherwise I'll have lost a lot more faith in humanity if they dislike something because it was the wrong color, or too big for their taste. People are nuts.

The comment about exposition makes me worry but only just a tiny bit. If you watch the pilot, katara's intro is much longer and obviously just straight exposition. If you are unfamiliar with the animated series, I bet it would feel odd. Especially since exposition has been given a bad wrap and people hate even if it works or if it's built into the material
Lil bit of advice. Its GREAT you are working at the names. However, I highly advise you to read "HOW TO WIN FRIENDS AND INFLUENCE PEOPLE" By Dale Carnegie. I suggest Special Anniversary Edition(Green Border) POINT is one of the tips is that peoples names are the most important sound they ever want to hear. Forgetting someones name or worse yet mispronouncing will get you in trouble more than you know. I mean as far as them not liking you and never wanting to have anything to do with you. Long winded because this is so true and I forgot a girls name 3 times and I never saw her again. So just saying work VERY hard on names because it'll hurt you no matter how many times you say sorry(doesn't work I've tried). But I'll tell you from elders remembering my name and me remembering others endears people to your side SO MUCH! I say all this cuz its THAT important and this book is a requirement for ALL entrepreneurs. Good journey man Thank you good video!
The trailer for this show in itself is better than the entire movie, but I still am not going to get my hopes up. I am expecting it to be a good show standalone, but I’m not expecting it to be a good adaptation in terms of perfect faithfulness which is what I want. But, I will save my criticisms until I can finally watch it, and I’m still excited
I appreciate your willingness to be able to wait which is some thing that not everybody out there is not able to do. Everyone just wants to hate it now and call it trash now without having seen it and they lose the plot. And listen to each their own on the idea of what it is exactly they want out of the show whether it’s a one to one adaptation or something that’s a little different but keeps the faith of it. For me I am the kind of person that wants to see a few things look a little differently but again keeps the essence of what makes avatar great.
Yeah, call me excited and I definitely am excited for all this. I'll sign up for Netflix again after 3 years. (Last thing I watched on there was Cowboy Bebop. Not bad, not my favorite). The tea is phenomenal today!! Seconds please?
Lol I enjoyed the new Percy Jackson series. Wasn't perfect but it was good. This is also coming from someone who grew up with those books and read them.
Basically instead of using green screen as a backdrop for a set and then inserting necessary elements via CGI, they use led screen with said elements as a backdrop so that the lighting (and the way light in general interacts with the set as a whole) is more consistent and convincing.
It's basically an LED panel like system that's used in the backdrop of film sets where they can impose background visuals of locations in the scene without having to actually go to the location itself or make a giant set. The Mandalorian was the show that first showcased this.
I think it was so good! Brought a tear to my eye :( Finally some justice. The beginning is very brutal and there was a lot in one episode (which is fine for me) and I can tell already theyre gonna cut one specific episode from the series. I love the new workarounds to the story for this adaptation. There was only one scene where the CG looked very CG but its a show with a budget less than Stranger things and even less than onepiece. I don't expect much, but I can say this is looking to be way better than Onepiece. I am so curious on how the final scene is going to go at the north water tribe!! Did the original creators got their cat caught their tounge because the show is looking good?? If so I'm happy, from i heard the REAL reason of them leaving because of creative differences, I agree with the netflix staff
Ya there are rumors that the creators left due to them wanting to change the show based on what they had originally wanted to do with the cartoon but couldn't at the time
The comment about the Volume is annoying. Most viewers are NOT going to notice or care that the Volume is used. So long as the sky and ground are seamless, it just doesn't matter. More than once I've seen purist snobs embarrass themselves by calling various scenes in other shows, bad because it used the Volume, only to find out the scene in question was filmed in an open, outdoor location. It's a bad faith complaint typically leveled by people that already don't like the show they're criticizing.
To some degree I think you’re right and wrong. I get your argument against why people complain about it without noticing the best qualities of why it’s used however I myself have noticed it be used in a way where it’s not the best usage if that makes sense.
Yeah the more I think about that criticism the more I don’t honestly understand how you can say that with regards to a television show where most good television shows and their episodes are an hour long😅

Lol that's also fair, the acting of the kids in the first few Harry Potter movies is NOT GOOD no offense to the actors they were kids. Those movies were carried by the magical world that that franchise is about.

I’m honestly not a fan of the casting. Some of the show seems solid, and we have yet to see it. I understand it is better than the old movie, but that’s not saying very much.
There was definitely a mixed reaction from critics who saw the first episode. Of course netflix is going to retweet a good one lmao. I still think I'll agree it's a good show but the acting is reportedly the worst part of the show, and from what we've seen from the trailers I can believe that. Looks flat and cringey so far.
There were more positive than mixed bag even if not retweeted from the main account. Also regarding the acting let’s be totally fair and clear here these are young actors were talking about. I’ve told some other people this but the Harry Potter movies are a good example to show that judging the acting is not always the best thing to go about doing. Those original few movies the acting was terrible from the young child actors but it grew and got better over time as they grow older.
@@uncleirohsteashop I think judging the acting is completely fair. The acting may not have been the strongest part of harry potter but it wasn't bad. But it seems you already have your mind made up despite trying to appear like you're neutral
@@charismatic9467 it's not about appearing "neutral" it simply comes down to understanding that these actors are younger and less developed then most other actors and so when I use an example of bad acting from kid actors in another project as an example you seem quick to turn that down. How many times have we seen young actors been lambasted for their acting only for they to in the future come back and showcase they got it back. Or just in general sometimes we give kid actors so much crap that it sends them away from the profession. To be clear I didn't say you can't judge the acting I was just pointing out the obvious.
The effects at screening weren’t final so that guy is wrong and so are you. Plus not everything you see in the show is filmed on the volume that’s just what real world lighting does it can make things look fake. I should know because I’ve been to location filming before.
It sounds like it’s going to be pretty mediocre which is really what I was expecting, I was hoping the bending was going to look better tho based on what I’ve seen. Also I really don’t like how they did zukos scar, the texture of his skin there should be much more altered especially if the burn was bad enough to discolor the skin so much. Even GOT did a better job with the hounds scar and that was like a decade and a half ago

As much as i would agree with the poor acting, remember its live action, its real people. In animation u can exaggerate the facial expressions of characters to really feel what theyre saying but its tough to do that as a real person and maintain it.
Very true and a lot of these actors are young and still learning and growing (to use the example of Harry Potter, the young actors did not carry those first few films it was the world)

There are plenty of people who are hating to hate or only hating because they love the animated version way too much
I mean, the animation is deeply flawed at many points, we just look past that for nostalgic reasons.
I never assumed it was going to be better than the animated series either
It doesn't need to be better than the cartoon to be very good, and have its own light.
The few negative reviews are like: "it's way too long"... Ou..."The show is in a rush" ...Can't take it seriously 😅 Speaking of which, it surprised me that Mike Dimartino was there.
Thankfully it's not even close to the negatives the 2010 movie has which has nothing but negatives.
I think those negatives are probably valid critiques, given how rational they were, rather than blindly hating on it
@@MrE_ I wouldn't call these two comments regarding the time of the episode "rational" criticism, on the contrary...
The acting has been getting a lot of negative reviews which worry me because from what little we've seen in the trailer the lines do seem flat.
@@MsAkatsuki09 Well yeah but it's clear you already have your mind made up despite not seeing it yet. I'll trust both negative and positive reviews from people who have actually watched it rather than your biased assumptions.

ATLA is 10/10.
Not true most of the time show and movies are shot wildly out of order.

Seeing Mike Dimartino in the photos was surprising! It’s really nice to see that he’s still interested in what they created. I hope the original creators end up liking the show and pushes their passion even more to create more wonderful new stories for their franchise.
I'm kind of surprised that one of the creators showed up to the premier.
@@285049 Bryan was there too, the one with the mustache and fancy orange clothing
I'm not surprised. They likely know everyone will like this for the most part and they don't want to risk coming off as petty.
My boy The Avatarist insists they are keeping the essence of the cartoon here and so that's what matters
By far, the most important for me, is the live action going to be like rewatchable like the animated one.
I'll reserve my judgement for this series for when I see it myself. Can't judge it based on critics. From all the promo's, pics etc. I've seen so far it sounds and looks very promising.
I’m so happy to hear these takes from fans of the OG series. I’ve been waiting a long time for this.
No matter what I think it’s going to be a great series!
There was one who mentioned that it looked like the VFX weren't finished and it's like ... yeah it's not the final VFX shots. Still the more positive reviews just make me all the more excited.

Wow thank you man that's very kind of you! Truly I appreciate that and hopefully one day I can get big enough to garner a great community that can support me to go to a premiere in the future.
seeing the air nomads in the fire nation throne room will be some really interesting exposition!!
Are those air nomads?
Totally agree
there are actually a lot of One Piece fans that didn't like the live action and were not being very quiet or civil about it in the least, it's just that they got overshadowed by all the positive reactions, most notably /after/ the show had actually aired.

The episode covers 60 minutes of animation in… 60 minutes, TikTok attention span by JJ
I agree that the volume it’s shit but it’s the best we have for fantasy shows, we can’t just build an air temple, we either have real life or the volume, it is what it is, the Star Wars prequels looked way worse with their green screens and video game like animations

I appreciate your willingness to be able to wait which is some thing that not everybody out there is not able to do. Everyone just wants to hate it now and call it trash now without having seen it and they lose the plot.
(sorry if seen before ive been watching a lot of avatar channels)
Oh cool so you watched it last night at the premiere?
@@uncleirohsteashop
Yes the crowd was amazing ^_^ and it started late because we were waiting for the actors from previous screening to head out. But I'm glad I stuck it out :D
@@Mannyjbad nice that's cool! What was the general vibe from people coming out who also saw it?
@@uncleirohsteashop Seems like it was mostly positive but also I can tell there were many people there that know very little about avatar or nothing at all and were invited by their friend. Would've been great to speak to them afterwards to gauge how much they understood from the one episode and how the pacing was in the eyes of a new comer to Avatar.
@@Mannyjbad interesting and were some of those people who were there that you think don't know Avatar well people who could give their first reactions on twitter?
serusly what shows with massive world building don't have to much of an exposition dump in there first 1 or 2 episodes? that doesn't seem like anything unusual to me.
The entire intro of Avatar is an exposition dump lol
We also have the runtime for all the episodes
Are they longer than an hour? I feel like they should be
@@YoBrand15no. They are around 50 minutes each
@athanasioskosmas3915 ooof.. that's not good. Can see why pacing is an issue. I mean I know it won't be perfect but that is disappointing to hear. Hopefully they made it work..
No one ever links the new clips! Theyre not on netflix youtube??? Where's this coming from
I SAID IT IN THE VIDEO IT'S ON THE MAIN NETFLIX AVATAR TWITTER ACCOUNT!!!
@@uncleirohsteashop I skipped to the clip breakdown and did not hear that mentioned, unless it's in another part
@@srose3129 well that makes sense because I mentioned it at the beginning
Did the original creators got their cat caught their tounge because the show is looking good?? If so I'm happy, from i heard the REAL reason of them leaving because of creative differences, I agree with the netflix staff
Ya there are rumors that the creators left due to them wanting to change the show based on what they had originally wanted to do with the cartoon but couldn't at the time
Honestly if they can pronounce names correctly they have done better then the 2010 movie..
Which we know for a fact that they have
The comment about the Volume is annoying.
Pleaseeee let mister cabbages live
He will be
Way too long, way too much packed into it... Make that statement make sense. These critics are hilarious.
Yeah the more I think about that criticism the more I don’t honestly understand how you can say that with regards to a television show where most good television shows and their episodes are an hour long😅
Like isn't that what we want...😂
Where do we watch the promo?
On Twitter. He said it right at the beginning of the video.
God damnit man please watch the video
@uncleirohsteashop wow, you don't have to be rude about it. Just missed it. Just take a cup of jasmine tea man.
@@mitchelldevries7213 It's getting old. No matter where he mentions it, at the beginning, the middle, or the end, people just don't pay attention. He even has put the links in pinned comments which automatically sit at the top of the comment section and people would STILL ask where the links are. It gets really frustrating when people don't pay attention. You can't blame Uncle Iroh for getting flustered.
@TheTubePortal He simply goes to high on his horse by using the type of words he used. Instead of being angry, be glad people are coming over and checking out your content. So just calm down and be patient. He was like teenage zuko, not like Iroh.
Im confused… did they release two episodes?
So, they had done a screening for I guess critics and whatnot (not the second screening for the fans), and they got to watch the first two episodes, while everyone else watched just the first episode (at the premier), but the actual show has not dropped on the platform as of now, it will drop next thursday.
Just a early premiere event for select guests
They gave a limited release of the first two episodes to influencers and critics to help promote the show. I believe its standard for new shows.
I think some people got a chance to see another episode already other than the first
Eh… they’re kids! Critics said the Harry Potter kid actors were bad in the first few movies
Lol that's also fair, the acting of the kids in the first few Harry Potter movies is NOT GOOD no offense to the actors they were kids. Those movies were carried by the magical world that that franchise is about.
Bro i saw someone on tiktok say " i didn't like it.. It was horrible... And i also didn't like the anime one"... Like i cant take tht person serious😂😂😂😂... Like why are you even watching the live action if u hated the cartoon one
Wait wait hold up no shot is this somebody who was invited to the premiere? How does something like that even happen?!
The opinion of the JJ guy is basically worthless because he retweets Grace Randolph. Instantly can't be taken seriously.

@@uncleirohsteashop any good?
@@dresdenwarlock7978 idk I tend to stay out of drama of that kind or whatever
Why azula's fire is not Blue? Wtf netflix
Well in the original during the flashbacks her flames werent blue so it makes sense she probably got blue flames while finding zuko
It will be, eventually (they confirmed It). In the cartoon, during the flashbacks, her fire wasn't blue either.
That scene might be early on before her fire turned blue or something along those lines
I’m honestly not a fan of the casting. Some of the show seems solid, and we have yet to see it. I understand it is better than the old movie, but that’s not saying very much.
What castings are you not a fan of? And you’re right we haven’t seen it yet so we have to wait to see what it’s truly like.
Wait what was I wrong about? Remind me.
The 2010 film was just a parody
Lol at points it certainly felt like that movie was a parody
Absolutely, but the visuals were above and beyond what it looks like we're getting with the show
@@nahqiv that's because it was a movie and had more of a budget

It sounds like it’s going to be pretty mediocre which is really what I was expecting, I was hoping the bending was going to look better tho based on what I’ve seen. Also I really don’t like how they did zukos scar, the texture of his skin there should be much more altered especially if the burn was bad enough to discolor the skin so much. Even GOT did a better job with the hounds scar and that was like a decade and a half ago
Idk if I would go that far to say it will be mediocre yet
@@uncleirohsteashop oh no I wasn’t saying it will be, I was just saying that’s what it sounds like it will be. Which I think is a good way to go into it, if it’s good then it’ll be a nice surprise and if it’s not then I won’t be disappointed

The costumes, hair and makeup are downright atrocious. They confirmed that they completely left out the main threadline of the original show from the first season. The CGI is piss poor. Is there any positive?
