There a chances that two of them are avatar , one is raava one is vaatu. One use earth fire air water bending. Another one use lava lightning pressure and blood bend

I think a dark avatar redeeming herself and saving her sister and a lot of people by sacrificing herself is cooler and more emotional than a ghost story, a story with more struggles

Personally, I'm worried about the path of this as well, but also interested in the idea of having two Avatars; personally, I think an interesting concept if this is the path they're taking, would for them to either both have equal powers, but lower level powers, or one has more of Rava in her than the other, but perhaps the weaker one has a closer connection to the spirits and the other has a closer connection to the physical world. If this were the case, it should take the path that the two can't be very far from each other without losing power, and are more powerful the closer they are. That would add a dynamic of a strong magic system rules for them to follow, and allow for a rich series of arcs as to how they would go about learning their powers and adapt to each situation. Either way, it's clear the writers realized the avatar world was facing a tech problem, and I'm somewhat saddened that they took the path of apocalypse instead of dealing with the potential positives and negatives the new tech posed on a new world. I agree with Uncle Iroh's Tea Shop in that the deeper future is where I wanted to see the series go, but I also see that the writers' bound themselves to either take the universe back to square one so to speak, or to go to the deeper future. Looks like they might be doing a bit of a balance though. But well have to see. I'm rooting for them but I'm worried too.

I like your video cover of the Earth avatar. I like her green earth outfit. If that's what her outfit will look like in the show. I like her outfit. It looks a lot like Korra's watertribe outfit in the sense of both having idk what you call them but what they both wear on their arms. I like that!!

Wait but who said just bc the 4 nation are gone, all the continents would he gone too? I think they mean politically they do not exist anymore, but I dont even see a reason why they should change the geography Land ≠ Nation

It doesnt even have to be futuristic, there could have been some sort of calamity or big war that happened that kinda regressed things and its up to the new avatar to fix and reconcile. The second season had a good storyline with benders vs non-benders. This could have been the seeds of a great war where benders are nearly extinct and on the run, i feel something like this can keep the show grounded and it can also give place to numerus Iroh like teachings and beautiful story beat settings

Guys it might sound crazy, but I think some techno-orientalism might be going on in the next avatar series if all these become confirmed.

Before yall kill me and the series itself, something like this could work. If its been a few avatars between Korra and the Wonder twins, or if its one of those "but no one truly remembers the past but the Avatars" dealie, it could be a much needed fresh start. Lets face it, Korra went too far with the tech or halfbaked plotlines at times and became too Anime and less Avatar. But a world where things have been basically reset and no one but a few truly know, a brand new world with some of the charm of the original series, allows the crew to expand the original world or at least make it more fresh to want us go back through. That was an issue for me in the original series but more so Korra. The world felt too small afterwhile too well explored or confined even to the original story and its earlier spinoffs. Thus without the right plot, the right cast, and the right settings it would just feel...small again. I obviously hope they have nods or parallels to the world we knew, but them starting over in a sense after Korra had its...many issues...is not the worst thing

I'm not a big idea of the four nations not existing anymore especially since we haven't got to see what the Fire Nation turned itself into but it's fitting that the Earth Avatar is confused because Earth avatars are always hard to find so if that's the case and I'll have no problem with it as much as I thought I would as long as they keep it that there's only one Avatar

Whenever a show tries something new like this(twin avatar), it's either a hit or a miss.

Let the blind jokes begin. And in general, we need to switch to nicknames. Not Katara, but the Sugar Queen. Not Aang, but Twinkle Toes. Not Toph, but Melon Lord. Or at least a Blind bandit. Not Sokka, but.... Wait, why is he the only one who doesn't have a nickname?))

I think twin avatars with each having 2 elements would be really neat if that’s the direction they’re going. The confusion on the way to learning each twin can only bend 2 elements and need each other to be whole sounds intriguing. Like if both parents are earthbenders, if one twin can earthbend and the other can’t they’d assume she’s just a non-bender. And if they’re orphans she may not know her parents both were earthbenders so she doesn’t realize what waterbending implies. So she’s then assumed to be the avatar when the white lotus finds out and but struggles to earthbend and it only becomes clear what happens when the earth bending twin airbends or something. I’m also always down for anything post apocalyptic

Regarding making sense of training one twin over the other, I could see a situation where one of them had "developed" or showed bending signs before the other, like a late vs early bloomer thing. We also still have the issue of the leg that needs to be explained, maybe that's part of that story?

Technically from the political point of view at the end of korra it makes sense the world went to crap afterwards. The water tribes were split. The earth kingdom fractored. The air nomads nation is no more. The fire nation was probably still dealing with fall out of the 100 year war. The United republic was decimated by kavira. Korra also created a whole new spirit porter a few years after opening the the previous 2 portals. Yeah makes sense to me. No movie needed. I love korra. Just doesnt needs explaining. I also believe vatu was still around cause of how vaatu and ravaa works. So it makes since the dark avatar would have a cycle of sorts too. What if the previous dark avatar that comes after unnalag but before the new twin was a kid. Like a young kid that korra couldn't kill. And/Or there could have battle between them that lead to the end of the world and both them dieing. So both next avatars dieing same time. Made them twins.

First off didn't like 3 or 4 different avatars, literally reshape and move continents. That doesn't make her the most powerful, it just means she used a very common ability to the maximum extent....

I enjoy making my own worlds in my head and writing down. Twin avatars are something I've toyed with. One where a previous avatar battled dark spirits and got the avatar spirit corrupted, resulting in that avatar severing ties with corrupted past avatar spirits before dying. So then the next avatar is born as a set of twins, one getting the corrupted past lives and the other getting the pure spirits. Pure gets cast aside while the corrupted is raised in wealth. I have it so no benders are put in work camps at birth due to a system able to decide if someone has bending potential or not. Pure avatar doesn't pass the exam and gets put in a camp. That's as far as I got before getting bored with writing it. I have a poor attention span sadly.

So they will be disabeled and gay? I will rather re-watch OG for like a dozent time.

Honestly sounds like it has more potential than Korra had. I'm cautiously optimistic about it and will be giving it a chance. Would be happy to discuss at length. Sure it is a major shakeup, but ATLA was arguably at it's greatest when it travelled the world, had the Gaang explore, went to different locales. Korra kinda misstepped with Republic City, locking the Avatar down to one city for a lot of the run-time(and honestly, not in a great way- it wasn't like Republic city actually got explored that much, it was just the window dressing). Sure, Korra did a bit of travelling later, but it almost felt squeezed together and claustrophobic. This new show basically needs exploration to be a thing to sell its new setting, which I think is to the writers benefit. Azula and Zuko's sibling dynamic was also one of the best parts of Avatar and it seems they are exploring something similar but different, which is great- my only caveat here being that I doubt Aaron Ehasz is on the project, and since he was the main guy behind that, the ability of the current squad to pull it off is perhaps in doubt. Also, the new Avatar is adorable. The way they handle her disability could absolutely make or break the show though. Make it actually have an impact- disabilities do impact people quite a bit. And most of all- I hope they won't be frightened to treat it with a bit of humor, too. Toph's blindness wasn't some elephant in the room, it could be the subject of pathos or comedy, depending on the scene. I really hope the more sensitive world of today doesn't treat this like something that can't be touched on, it would completely wreck the very thing that made Toph work so well. For what it is worth, The original idea for Avatar the Last Airbender was sci-fi(they didn't go with it), so this taking a page from that just seems like they are taking ideas they never got to realize back in the day and experiment with them.

Them going down the route with vatuu is the only way they could reasonably do the two avatar thing. If they try and split raava they are going to hurt their series

this new series both confuses and delights me, I say confuse because I thought at the end of Korra there couldn't be another Avatar, they had said the cycle was ended and she had no more connections to her past selves and that it was over. XD

well if they do the duel avatar it most likely be vattuu and rava manifesting some how and thus the proper yin and yang both avatars would try to do it their OWN way fail then fight an enemy they have to work together to fight like the Card captors twin Card fight.

I do wonder if that Korra did caused her avatar past to be splitt off from her so one of the twins is connected to only Korra and the other to the rest?

I really had this in mind a year ago that the next time we met korra in the new series she will be able to do this. I saw her moving and lifting islands and mountains to save cities and landmass from being destroyed and uses other elements while doing a great feat. she was like able to use fire propulsion to see something below here while she is in the high altitude and same time she moves island too. Maybe me it will happen. Lol At some point she showed great feat maybe better than Kyoshi. Korra just stopped a nuke powered by abundant vines. A single piece of that vine can power a beam that can devoid almost everything it touches.. there is a clip where the beam punched a perfect hole out of a mountain.. and it seems it is requiring amount of power like bending tons of boulders in a blink of an eye and the beam can also create massive explosions denser than Ozai. Not even kyoshi can move boulders similar to that. Redirecting or countering heavy forces is harder than sinply just like catching a barbel from falling or moving fast than simply lifting it. So for me bending is harder for those who does not only bend massive elements but for those who counter such forces. Her bending is unmatched when she faced the energy weapon. She did it without past lives helps and skills. With no beforehand daily practice to learn to bend it, no hand and mobility for bending techniques like Roku and Aang had had for months which is required before performing feats in AS... and most spectacularly, she bends it trial by fire and without breaking a swear. Simply raing her hands! That young avatar girl was really crazy and powerful!

I would love a sibling rivalry that is like Zuko & Azula on first glance. Have one be the flawless one that looks down on others while the other lashes out for attention. And then pull away the layers and reveal that the "chosen one" was just as abused with the expectance of perfection and the right way forward is for the two to realize their true selves.

Perhaps their equivalent of WWII occurred, I mean the spirit energy was the analog to the atom bomb. Interesting idea having one twin who is the Avatar and the other who is just a regular bender.

The dystopian nature of the new Avatar world would make me think Vaatu won.
