Great Haul. We spend 500.00 a month for three adults living in Ontario, Canada. We don't buy organic just because it's not in our budget but we do grow enough of our vegetables in the summer to eat. I also can and dehydrate and freeze what I can to last threw part of the winter months. One thing we never have to buy is raspberries. We manage to grow 47-50 lbs every year. I freeze a lot of it and make jam. Thank you for sharing with us.
You’re amazing for growing your own and it must be so much easier to grow veggies in Canada, it’s too dry and hot here for anything ugh! That’s still quite a bit of a budget you’re spending for 3! We hope one day we can grow that much raspberries so cool you’re growing and freezing a ton!
We have 2 adults, 3 kids ages 7-13, and 2 little dogs. We do not buy organic, but we do frequent our local farmers market a lot. We usually spend about 300-500.00 a week on groceries. We are not vegan, but there are many times a week that I just want vegetables. I really enjoy watching your channel and love the way your children help. I just love watching cooking in general. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
Hi Anna! We’re just alike because I too love watching cooking in general too! I am a self proclaimed foodie here ha! Where are you located? Seems like your grocery bill is the same but we do not include our bulk items like oils, grains, etc which we also buy from Amazon.
I really enjoy watching your videos. I love to see your children involved in the food preparations. I usually don’t leave comments but today I felt the need to comment regarding the flour tortillas you started using . I have been using those tortillas for years. I really enjoyed them BUT almost a year ago, I realized they are Bioengineered. I never use to read labels but it something I try to do when shopping. It doesn’t matter if food states “organic”, they still put bioengineered ingredients. FOR THOSE WHO CARE, WE MUST READ THE LABELS. IT’s usually posted after the list of ingredients. I did find similar tortillas at COSTCO, if anyone is interested. That’s what I use now. God bless you and your family. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talents.
Hi there friend so glad you came and left a comment in our comment section, it means a lot for you to take the time to chit chat ❤️ Thank you for also letting us know about the ingredients on this! Ugh! Welp I will not be purchasing this anymore, I’ll have to learn to make it our own. I’m so frustrated with everything sold at the store! Can’t we just get some good food that will help us out at times we need a little convenience? Ugh! Frustrating! Thank you again!!
You did EXTREMELY well for all the organic fresh fruits and vegetables that you bought. When all of our children were at home, we went through sooo much food. Gardening was a necessity, not a hobby. People were always amazed at the amount of food I cooked for the kids.(5 boys and 5 girls- so with me and hubby there was 12 that I was cooking for everyday) Everyone says Boys eat more and at times that was true. But let me tell ya on days where we were all working outside a lot, my girls could hold their own with any of the boys.
Meant to add that- Now it's down to just me and hubby, and I still spend around 75 a week. We do mostly organics and I do a LOT of juicing and smoothies for us. We live in NW Florida., and August is our absolutely worst month with the heat. Neither of us want to eat much cooked food in this heat, so the smoothies and juices are what we seem to be consuming a lot of lately.
Nice that your juicing and making smoothies, it’s great for the health and well being. We used to juice a lot too but boy did that bulk add up! Especially doing it with all of us ha and the amount we have to juice! We love your large family that’s so cool you had a large family! I have seen our girls eat quite a bit in fact our oldest Grace had 3 lunches today, she must’ve been going through a growth spurt haha! Our oldest Immanuel who is 13 is gigantic and he definitely eats more than the littles and still growing which means our bill will be growing 🫣
Hello! Thank you so much for tuning in, we are happy with what we got this week. Of course this does not include the bulk items we get from Amazon such as grains.
@@thehaipath You’re welcome ☺️ …Yes, I’m the same way I buy my bulk items, keep those stocked and get my produce and other items from the market. I love your homestead and pray to have one someday. I have a small garden I’m proud of that I just started, can’t wait till the harvest. 🙏🏼🫶🏼☺️
We only have 3 in the family, but each of us has special dietary needs. I’m allergic to wheat, husband has to have low carb heart healthy & my daughter has multiple chronic illnesses, so she has a long list of can’t haves & we always have to have her recovery foods on hand for when she has a flare. We spend $200 a week on food. We eat a more pescatarian diet leaning heavily into vegan. Love your videos, always give me great ideas to add to our meal preps.
Hello friend! We totally understand the allergies and food restrictions since Trey also has limitations! We have gone a few years figuring things out on what we can make to keep it interesting. We are so happy you're leaning towards being plant based/vegan, it really does help with any illnesses paired with whatever treatment. I hope your daughter gets better soon!
Love it girl, love it. Its always scary to see how similar our grocery lists are! Great haul. & the JOJOS!! We always grab the wedges when we go, they really are a great quick grab. & yees facts about all the effort put into being vegan in the kitchen!!!!!!! Stay well everyone ☮️
Hi friend! That’s awesome our list is similar! I like to cook but sometimes I just remember the times we can put 1 thing in the oven and make it a meal instead of chopping thousands of pieces of veggies 😅
Love seeing peoples grocery hauls. I get UTZ extra dark pretzels...they are fab. I usually go to one grocery store. They are cheaper than other stores. We have Whole Foods, and Trader Joes but they are not close by. Walmart has good stuff but their produce is not good and they are ten minutes away. One person I spend $35 - $75 a week depending on non food stuff and cat food.
Hi Mary! Ooh I’ve not seen Utz pretzels but their potato chips are great! Your grocery bill is great, makes sense for a single person. Do you spend on organic at all?
@@thehaipath I just saw the UTZ Dark Specials one day and then I was hooked!!! I buy organic if it looks good. The store I go to has a very small organic section and vegan is pathetic. The closer to Boston it gets better but I wouldn't drive there. When I lived in Vermont we had a healthfood store in the next town and the local grocery store had Ezekial bread and vegan products. Montpelier had a fab Coop and so did Lebanon NH. Go figure!
Hi Rosa, i was watching the live impromptu video but you never saw any of mine. Nice grocery haul but many are not available here and if are very expensive. Single man and i spens about $4000 JD😊❤
Hi John! I totally understand not all our ingredients is available everywhere and can be expensive! But I bet you also have ingredients that is not available here like some amazing tropical fruits!
I’ve always doubted the efficacy of vinegar and water as a cleaning solution. When I started really paying attention to the way I’m using the world around me, I decided to try vinegar as a cleaning solution. I’m a complete convert, I will never buy a chemical cleaning solution again and got rid of all my chemicals. It cleans better than any chemical I’ve ever bought. And in my neck of the woods, a gallon of vinegar costs a dollar and some change! I wish I hadn’t waited so long to figure this out.
Hey Suzanne! This is Trey, that’s awesome you made the switch over. A little tidbit if you didn’t know already. Most cleaners (body or house products) are either acidic or alkaline. Bleach is extremely alkaline, real bar soap is alkaline, then you have vinegar which is acidic. So as long as the cleaner is high alkaline or acidic, it will destroy the virus, bacteria or fungal cell walls and effectively kill them. I’ve seen this under a microscope for multiple types of cleaning products including vinegar.
@@thehaipath Thank you so much for the response, Trey! I’ve done some canning in the past, and I am aware of the antibacterial effects of acids. How do you feel about bleach? Because bleach is what I use in my bathroom. In my mind I trust it because it’s old school. I want to keep things as simple as possible. Thanks to you and Rosa for sharing your family and your knowledge, I think you guys are great. We’ll see you again tomorrow.
@suzannemomma Rosa no longer buys bleach. We’ve been leaning on a product that I learned about a few years ago that uses thymol (the active chemical compound in thyme and oregano) and nano technology. It kills all virus bacteria and fungi. This is what we’ll use if we feel like vinegar doesn’t “feel” safe/strong enough. How do I feel about bleach? Now that I know what I know, I don’t think we need bleach and it’s just a way for companies to cut cost since it’s very effective for pennies on the dollar.
This is the product we use when we need heavy duty cleaning. I also use this to clean all of my Mycology stuff. It works very well. I’m glad we can help! Bioesque Botanical Disinfectant Solution
just curious... I've seen in alot of videos from the US that they buy in bulk and get it delivered. Wouldn't something like that work for a large family as urselves? Is it not accessible in all US areas?
