    Thank you so so so much for your recipe..I made them yesterday and even though I didn’t let them sit to harden completely before trying them ..I’m amazed how well this recipe cleans- makes your dishes feel as if you just pull them out of their package ..this recipe leaves no film like my prior recipe from years ago as well as sparkly squeaky clean..my favorite brand is now $20 so looking to save money but still have a good product -your recipe hands down is the best beating out the stores products too!

    Do you let the tabs dry in the mold? How do you get them out without falling apart and how long do you let them dry after you take them out of the mold?

    I've tried several recipes all with these same ingredients and they all leave a white film on my glasses. :-( Do you know which ingredients cause this? I have hard water and the only thing that helps is adding about a half cup of white vinegar directly into the dishwasher - but I'd rather not have to do that if possible. I'm just not sure which ingredients to increase/decrease, or even eliminate. Wondering what would happen if I used vinegar instead of the 1/4 cup of water. All thoughts appreciated - love your recipe.

      Wise Dove All ingredients leave a white Film except the citric acid. Even when you add salt for softening hard water in your dishwashing machine you have to run it empty otherwise lives your dishes full of white spots. Is difficult to create a dishwashing stuff at home.

      I have the same problem with the white film. Its not from hard water. Cascade works perfect on my dishes, but his recipe and other homemade recipe's don't work. Let me know if you finally find something that works.

    The problem isnt if I personally want or dont want to use Borax. The problem is that its not allowed in EU. So you cant get hold of it legally. :(

      Great that you prefer store bought, that's your preference. "Just curious" as to why you would comment on a subject that has nothing to do with your channel? Good for you that you "only" pay $5, more power to you, but is it healthier? Thanks for your comment though.

    I've made several recipes for dish washer soap and none of them did the job. Last night i made your recipe plus i added few drops of dish soap and some white vinegar to the dish washer. The result was absolutely fantastic. Even better than conventional dish washer soap! Specially the glasses were spotless and super shiny (with previous recipes i always had a white coat on the glasses). Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and wisdom with us. I really appreciate it. This saves our family lot's of money, plus no harsh chemicals and all natural ingredients are good for our body and the environment. ❤️

    Thank you! I've made this 3 times already they work great! I did switch away from making them into tabs because I find they crumble anyway, so I just mix the powder and essential oils together and spoon it into the dishwasher.

      So update in this! haha My humidifier kind of turned my loose powder into a solid chunk in the container haha. So this time I just put the powder in the ice cube trays and am just going to leave it for a few days and hope it comes together, and then whatever falls apart I'm just going to scoop. I am a bit worried that putting in too much water too early will react all the citic acid and baking soda before I get to them. What do you think?

    • @mayflylife
      @mayflylife  5 років тому +1

      @@JessieSamanthaEmily Lol. I've had that happen too. I've been placing my dishwasher tabs under my sink which is why they won't hold together. I loved the idea of not having to put them together as tabs and have enjoyed your idea of powder instead. Hope all turns out well for you.

    I would recommend using a mask when mixing this. Did you see the powder mix floating in the air and you inhale that which can irritate your lungs. Also I notice that you coughed as the powder was floating up? A lot of good information tho!

    Is Borax an essential to this mixture or could it be substituted? I have decided to go the DIY route as it saves money and trips to the store during this time of pandemic. Unfortunately Amazon has sold out of a majority of items now and I am unable to get hold of Borax.

    • @mayflylife
      @mayflylife  4 роки тому +4

      Yes, there are a lot of recipes that you can create that don't require the use of Borax. I personally have not used them, but many indicate it works great. I've included a no Borax recipe for you to try below.
      1.5-2 cups of Washing Soda (use 2c if you have hard water)
      1 cup of Citric Acid
      0.5 cups of Baking Soda
      0.5 cups of Salt
