      Thank you, I am glad you liked it. Its a new room, new lightning challenges, new ecco to figure out and I'm way behind on my market preparation, sometimes it feels like I just record unprepared bits of my life and throw it out there to stay connected 😅 It's feedback like yours that keeps the channel going and make me realize the well prepared technical stuff is nice but not the most important.
      I appreciate you 🌿

    Hi, I love watching your videos and your new set up is so nice 😊 I don't make comments on each video but some times I do 😊 I make the pods also but I don't use salt I guess my dishwasher doesn't like it 😄 there is residue left on my glasses so I eliminate it ... I should mention that I tried quiet few recipes till I found one that works for me. I also use my own liquid soap and I use D-Limonene instead of essential oils so the cubes smell like oranges😃 do you use D-Limonene? Is almost like an eo cuz it is extracted from citrus peels. To bad it has a low flashing point at about 120 F otherwise I guess could've been used in soap as well, but, commercially it is used in cleaning products as a degreaser including products that mechanics use. Some people use it in some home made cleaning products in combination with polysorbate 80, if I remember correctly, because D-Limonene is an oil and it doesn't mix with water. I don't like the polysorbate so I don't use it 😊 but in cubes it works great boosting the cleansing power and saving some money being cheaper than eo 😀... Believe it or not it can be also taken internally if bought in pharmacy ... It's good looking into it if you haven't already and maybe you know more than me 😀 if you do please share in a video. Thank you! 😊🙏

      Hi. Thank you for talking the time to share the info with me. I'm definitely going to look into the D- Limonene, I've seen it on the product lists before but never thought of trying it. I may know a lot about soap making but I certainly don't know everything, and other products I'm just dabbling with, there is always so much to learn still.
      Glad you commented on this, please don't be shy to comment or suggest things in the future. I love to learn from you.
      Blessings

      @@saponify6677 Hi, I forgot to Thank you for the method you shared few months back when you showed us how to make an oil infusion ... I watched the video again about a week ago and I infused the content of 20 tea bags of stinging nettle in a bit of vodka because was the only alcohol I had 😀and I left it on the counter for almost 3 days (got busy and forgot about it😀)I added sunflower oil to fill a quart jar and I was amazed that only after 2 days the oil was green ... Sooo beautiful 😊... I can't wait for some weeks to pass to see the color of the oil in a soap ... I want to leave the soap one color because I want to test the color an if the color stays or fades away and after how long ... Next is going to be the plantain, curious if I can get different greens ... Again thank you so much! 😊

      Thank youvso much. Soda ash is Sodium Carbonate = soda ash.. the white layer that sometimes form on our soap. Talk about a love hate relationship 😄 you can buy it from any soap supply shop, Pick n Pay used to keep it but I haven't been on the look out for it since I buy it with my other stuff online. You might still get it on a shelf.

    Hello Ansa 👋🏽 I tried making this however the powders do not amount to as much as you have in your bowl. And the dish soap made the powder into a paste. Are the measurements you showed in the video the same as what you were mixing? I followed everything as explained 🤔 Thank you again, be well 😊

    • @saponify6677
      @saponify6677  Місяць тому

      Hello there. I doubled or trippled the recipe when I made it so it will look more. Apologies if it seemed misleading, although I did say that I'm gonna make a larger batch and give the measurements for a 100gram batch 😉 The reason I give 100g recipes is because it directly translate to % for those who like to work with a formulation instead of a recipe.
      If your dish soap make the mix too wet it could be that I'm maybe using one that are a bit thicker (less liquid more thickeners) than yours, just start with only half the dish soap, mix and see what the texture looks like, if it holds everything together you are good to go, if stil too dry add little by little until you get the perfect amount, it's basically just the glue in the recipe. Make notes as you go to have a record for the next batch.

      😄 I typed a detailed reply and apparently did not press the send 🙈
      Washing soda is Sodium carbonate, well known under soapmakers as soda ash. That pesky white residue that sometimes form on our soap. I buy mine from African Soap Supplies, but I have seen it on other online soap that shops as well. Pick n Pay used to keep it in the detergent aisle, don't know if it's still available.

    Dankie vir ñ awesome video - kan ek die "pods" individueel toemaak in clingwrap of moet hulle so oop gestoor word in die lugdigte bak? 😊

      Hi Hendrietta, dankie en groot plesier. Sodra hulle uitgedroog is kan ek nie sien hoekom jy hulle nie individueel toe, kan draai nie. Jy kan selfs die bestandele meng en oopsprei om as "krummels" droog te word en dan net n opgehoopte eetlepel vol krummels op n slag gebruik.

    • @saponify6677
      @saponify6677  5 місяців тому +3

      Alcohol verdamp weer baie vinnig en is nie geneig om die citric acid en bicarb te aktiveer dat dit begin skuim nie. Die mikpunt is net om al die bestandele aanmekaar te laat klou om n blokkie te vorm. Jy kan die mengsel in poeier vorm ook stoor en net n eetlepel vol in die was kompartement te gooi.

    I am still questionnant about the addition of bora. Some recepies does not include it… Some persons Shay this is not so good ingredient.

    • @saponify6677
      @saponify6677  День тому

      Borax is a water softener, I have hard water and without it my glasses and cutlery comes out dull with a powdery finish. Borax is used in contact cleaning solution and in some eye drops. On our natural community forum some people make a weak solution of Borax and drink it daily as a source of boron. The key is to use it in moderate amounts as large dosages is toxic (like salt, we need it to survive but too much will kill you) The amount of Borax used per tablet is diluted with the first wash cycle and then drained and rinsed as well. Any Borax left behind (if any) on your utensils it will be negletable amounts. 🌿
