      Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, magnesium brine oil is different from the flakes. Different in composition and purity. For this recipe, I would stick with the flakes and try and find a formulation using the brine oil.

    • @mayflylife

      @TheDivera Hi Vera, you do understand that this is an African Black inspired soap, right? In authentic African Black Soap wood ash is used, which is, in fact, lye. As most people in North America don't have access to actual wood ash, lye is a replacement to recreate saponification. Reminder. I said this was an African inspired Black Soap.

    I love the Lulu Organics shampoo powder, but it is ridiculously expensive. I want to make it on my own now. (Prices these days!) Now I'm wondering if I do your recipe here, but without any oils & butters, just the dry ingredients, would this make a good shampoo powder? The only ingredient missing is the baking soda from the list of ingredients on the container of Lulu Organics.

    • @mayflylife
      @mayflylife 5 місяців тому

      @LadyGoza The whole premise of this particular recipe is to create a bar style shampoo. Oils and butters that are used provide different properties, like moisture, softening, etc. Where the dry ingredients could strip some or all of the natural oils, leaving the scalp dry. That being said, I encourage people to experiment and make this recipe their own. The only way to truly discover if it works is by trying it. Give it a go and see what the results are. Best of luck.

      @mayflylife 6 місяців тому

      @@daveg1052 Recipes vary, but the average temperatures are 300⁰F to 375⁰F for about 3 hours. Your dry beans should be soaked overnight to rehydrate them. Slow cookers are low and slow, but a Dutch oven casserole will be somewhat faster. I'd set the oven no higher than 375⁰F for a few hours. More steam will escape out of a Dutch oven than a slow cooker, so keep an eye on it so that it doesn't burn or dry out.
