      Right? Maybe they don't want to make it so unique (like FFA or city battles) because some players would find that more fun and only then show up for that and not real wars?

    Resistance phase is also a good time for all the players coming together. Fight club being the best example.
    Imagine what else players will come up with during a longer resistance phase.
    This phase is where you can rest, meme and buddy up with the "other side." leading to a more healthy community.

    Yeah, it's felt like over the years as war times have gotten longer, resistance phase has gotten shorter. Some things I'd really like to see from resistance phase are
    1. Making it easier to tell what's going on. (I remember when I first joined and after the war ended, I was unsure what resistance phase even was). Even if newer players might still want to play resistance phase, even knowing it isn't an actual war, I feel like they should be able to know what's actually going on without someone telling them. Imagine a new player spending time only to have their progress erased shortly after.
    2. I'd love a sandbox, more so of one than we have now, something akin to the dev branch, where you get magic boxes. So you can mess around and test things while you wait for the next war to start. Like maybe you could set up a super tank duel or something, sorts of things that would be impractical during a live war.

      Exactly how I have felt as well. I could have sworn before 1.0 resistance phase was at least 4 days.
      I agree as well if no one told them what was going on they would think this was the main game.
      I would like some kind of sandbox as well I only worry about people that would limit everything to the extreme and then balance talk might become even more toxic lol.

    Problem with Resistance Phase is that all the coolest things Foxhole has to offer like bunkers, tanks and artillery cant be accessed since all the logi players are on break. For this reason I believe Magic Box's should be active during the period to give people access to Foxholes coolest features.

    I knew war 103 was over and kept checking online for info on 104 but couldn't find any and then I had a few busy days in a row and wasn't able to play or hop on and it went from war 103 with absolutely no info on war 104 to the start of war 104 when I got back. It was literally just a few days. Not even a week. If I had more time to prepare I could have made time and been a part of the start of the war but now I haven't even spawned in once because I already feel like I have missed out.

    I agree. Wars are meaningful to many people. I still cherish my early wars.
    We need more time to reflect on our experiences and share war stories. When one war bleeds immediately into the next one with no time to reflect, it kind of sullies the experience of the previous one.
    I would like the map separated a little more into a relatively peaceful map where folks can share war stories and punch each other, and another map that functions as a tutorial sandbox for new players.

      Exactly! This is how I feel as well. To many wars kind of blend together.
      I don't think you would want all of these maps running at the same time as it would split the player base to much. Kind of like how shards split the players up a bit to much.

      My problem is that many of the recent wars feel like copy paste, particularly with collies taking 3 hexes a day in the early war. As a builder/logi player, my answer was to play Star Citizen instead - with is the fundamental issue with the game, just not enough builders and logi players.

    I think there could be all kinds of fun PvE side games for resistance mode, aliens invasion, zombies, monster hunt, etc. as long as they don’t impact wars.

    I feel like you are spot on. As a logi player myself, I'm 100% sure the full commitment isn't possible to keep up at this rate. Real life is also a thing you need to take into the equation. Longer Resistance Phase with fun game modes would mean more rested and motivated builders & logi players, which in turn would mean a better defense line and better provision of bunkers, which would benefit the entire community.

    Yeah, I totally agree that when a team win it needs to be something more. Right now the only thing you pretty much get is a victory screen and that is it. Make like a hall of fame (Hall of War) or something with flags from the team that won. AND yes longer breaks! (or a different mode)

    13:20 Group psychology is a MASSIVELY underplayed part of the game imo.
    ~Artillery has the power to depopulate fronts bc players get frustrated and reseoy elsewhere
    ~A strong voice can lead sneaky AT flanks and get even a group of RANDOS to kill BTS (AJS in war 102)
    ~Playing music can get people to group up for bussing, truck rushes, or even get friends to continue scrapping

    The devs have stated that the large player drop at the end of the war hurts their Steam ranking so people are less likely to see foxhole suggested to them. So they have an financial incentive to start the next war asap.
    I would love resistance be a different game mode, something that directly leads into the next war like the starting public stockpiles of basic equipment are made by the players and the starting neutral towns or war direction (NvS or EvW) are also player driven. But if new players join during resistance mode and try to learn the game under those different game rules then they could end up being confused or learning the wrong leasons.
    FOMO is diffinately a big deal. Resource locations and certain defenses positions are quickly grabbed by people at the start of the war and I often find myself at work when the war starts and missing any chance to pick a cool spot to build at. But there isn't much I can do so I often just try and work with whatever sub optimal location or resource situation I can and be flexible with how the war develops. I've actually started with abandon bases rather than build them from scratch in quite a few wars.
    Honestly at this point I enjoy just skipping a war or two to do other stuff. Having that stopping point of the war being over and nother matters for a day or two tells me its time to do something else for a while.

    I'll give my perspective. I used to enjoy being a logi guy at all levels of logi play, occasionally helping arty or infantry.
    When the end of war was called I would take a sigh of relief and go out, talk with my offline friends, and other outside the game activities.
    Before I knew it it was day two or three of the next war. NEVER experienced fight club, missed the day one/zero clan meetings, etc.
    Make Resistance longer and with a minor stock up war. No production, just fist raiding the storage buildings and placing the shirts/mats in your territory.

    Resistance phase is where I learned the game, joined some other person in building a facility right before the 1.0 war
    I'd definitely like to see resistance mode being longer and more activities to do other than some community organised ones, as you said maybe arty duels, tanking duels, a mini frontline somewhere where both sides need to protect their factory. I'd definitely like to see a region being a sandbox for bunker and facility building
    Would be interesting to see resistance mode be a place both to cool off and maybe learn mechanics more

    I think adding a couple more days to resistance phase would be fine. First day devs will release nothing. Second day they release the map layout and resource spots for the next war so you will have a couple days to plan. Third day nothing, just more time for planning. On the fourth day war starts
    This could really help with clans, especially their facility mains to allow them to plan more and take longer breaks after busting their ass for 20-30+ days straight.
    For some smaller clans who many only have a few main people for their facility, having them all get burned out means no more logi for your clan unless you’re willing to figure out how to facility yourself.
    Adding stuff like the zombie mode back to foxhole in the resistance phase I think would also be really cool. I can’t tell you how much some players want it back. That and other modes as well could really make resistance phase a lot more fun so that people wouldn’t mind it being a bit longer.

    To be honest I think a 7 day Resistance phase sounds good, its long enough to help a TON with burn out and short eough so that people dont loose intrest, so if a war ends on a friday then the next one starts on a friday... 2-3 days is a bit random , keeps things in order and more predictable . Often I feel (personally) when a game is getting a bit much I normally take a break for a week and its all good. Once a pon a time I used to be a officer in a large active reg, we used to have "Missions" that we did on a weekly basis , almost like goals or achivments for the reg... a group task... we spend roughly a week comming up with and planning these events, so we would have roughly 3-4 "Missions" per war (depending on the length of the war ofc) over and above all the usual stuff. Having a week downtime to come up with some ideas would have been amazing and would have taken SO much pressure off us duriing the conflict.

    Resistance Phase used to be an actual phase of the war. It was on the same map, everything was in place, but the losing faction got a bunch of resistance-style advantages, and tech slowly decayed. It was a neat concept so it's a shame that they just tossed it out.

    More joke wars. Like a war were half the tech is already unlocked, or both teams start in a single hex right next to each other in the middle of the map and have to expand outward. Not every war, but like every 3-5 wars. Change things up big time for a single war every so often.

    Out of curiosity, not sure if others find this the case but like - I've played Foxhole for the past 8 wars straight, amassing nearly 400 hours in game. I'm excited for the next update, but it feels like if you miss the first couple days (Like I had), you just feel 'disconnected' from the war?

      This happens to me a lot. I find I spend way more hours in a war if I play the first 1-3 days. If I miss them I bet my time is cut in half and I only scroop and craft items or something that takes no real brain effort logi wise.

    This should be a learning time for people that want to get in to facilities, base building etc. They would need to figure out a way to make resources accessible, as most logi players take resistance time off.

    I mean the longer war times and mainly the resistance phase made me take a long long break. I'm back now, I love the game but yeah they need to do something not sure what but they should have tested a few options before 1.0.

    Imagine resistance phase give you infinite resources. I can already imagine the game turn into World of Tanks
    Another idea I got is adding a sort of resources cache/vault in the midline where you can start stacking up resources for the next war. It can ve destroy by the enemy team. Once destroyed, everything inside will be lost. Of course there will be a limited to the amount of item crate it can take, even some can not even be store away

      It absolutely would! I've said this to few other people but infinite resources would not work for resistance phase just because everyone would limit test everything to the extreme.

    My suggestion for the devs would be that every second war should be set in a different time period, so the "real" (full tech) war, followed by a small map "earlier" war which does not have tech past T2, 120mm artillery, and early war tanks. Not going to lie, day 1 of a foxhole war is the most fun for me; by the end of week 1 there is a massive amount of tedious repairing bunkers from collie artillery fire, and then the all new tedious "who stole the firetruck?" mechanics they added because it was obviously too hard to murder any base at 3 am without flamethrowers. Oh wait, no, rebuilding your base after a 3am solo player demo has been a thing for ages! Love how collie jeep + wonderweapons can always kill any base, and yes devs you need to fix trench + sandbag + automatic grenade launcher being able to solo kill T3 bunkers.

    for me, they way it should be assuming nothing else changes, resistance phase should last 1 day for every 10 days of the last war plus 2. So by that a 23 day war would give us 2+2=4 day resistance

    I stand by my continued statements that skirmish matches would be better for the game and are more multi-functional than resistance phase.
    Also slight correction, the 3 day war you referenced after war 30 wasn’t exactly due to logi changes brought about but moreso other “temporary” systems in the game at the time.

      The 3 day war was due to a system in resistance phase in which players could bury “hidden stockpiles” of supplies which we (Wardens) put dozens of them full of satchels and laid waste to the map. Continuing my point on skirmish matches (which I plan to make my own video on when I learn how to edit😂) can play more roles than just an intermediary place between wars but you’re correct in that it would not supply materials and be completely separate from the World Conquest

    This would add infinitely more fun to the game. Longer resistance phase, but also engaging with different game modes cycle. Relic wars, zombie mode, battleroyale/extraction mode, sandbox mode with magic boxes so everyone gets to drive a super battle tank at least once in their lives. That would be super cool and since those type of gamemodes were already introduced, how come they are not used anymore?

      I have no idea why they don't bring out those ideas more often...
      Easy content that gives us a second to take a break and relax before the next war.
      Hopefully some kind of change with resistance phase is coming soon.

    As a somewhat new player I would like longer resistance phases where I can test stuff.
    When I test how to build something, or how some mechanics work during the war I feel Im wasting resources, since on resistance phase none of this matters I can build a useless base/factory/bunker/vehicle to see how its done- how it works and experiment without feeling im a burden to the team.
    On that same logic I would recommend increasing resources to be unlimited.

    The starting conditions are postes like 1 day b4 actually and resource nodes only 30 min b4 the war starts. I think that's the dumbest idea and it stops clans from possibly coordinating efforts

    Also: we should have parade mini games
    Maybe even like a war memorial in the hex that had the most fatalities. That'd be cool

      Week long break but have some kind of special war going on for that week so that players still want to play if they want. I think it would make each war more purposeful and we would have less "break wars". Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this!

    Asymmetric Resistance mode. See RiseingStorm2 Vietnam Starts with map conditions of wars last moments. Winning team tries to hold territory at disadvantage, only re spawning at town halls. loosing team all spawn with partisan uniform and Demo charges in plenty. can set up encampments at little cost.

    If Resistance Phase - was - longer then the people who want to play 'significant' Wars and have stories can have them in the Resistance Phase context. They can duke it out in Farranac Coast or enjoy Dead Lands Fight Club and more. In the meantime the majority of the playerbase that is dedicated to each War has time to catch their breath and feel refreshed. 1 Week breaks IMO. Gives plenty of time for people to feel the itch to play again and give Resistance Phase Wars their own time to play out.
    Make the Resistance Phase warmap smaller to help funnel players into specific fight scenarios as well.

    resistance phase should just enable magic boxes and speed up vehicle construction speeds so people can use it to test vehicles or just play around with no stress.

      I want either this or small town skirmish type battle. Only couple hexes that are all urban towns where people just do infantry town fighting. Maybe add some half tracks or something as well.

    I'd make "Resistance Phase" perpetual on a separate shard and set it up with zombie AI and have "Dead Harvest" all year, with relic gear. Gives vets a reason to change things up and go train noobs in the zombie apocalypse alternate universe.

    I would like RM to be 1 or 2 days longer and in the mean time make all the stockpiles filled with tanks which come fully fueled and loaded with ammo. Just let us play Team Death Match with tanks.

      And for not ruining the Fight club, disable the 6 hex sorounding deadlands so they are isolated from this chaos.
      Even further, you could split the world into more pieces, each hex cluster with different resources/items pre-stocked.

    I agree 100%, the resistance phase needs to be extended and made into a relaxing part of the game.
    I'm a purely logi player and for the last few months I've only been playing every third war so that I have time to rest and the game doesn't stop entertaining me due to the need for high commitment.
    Moreover, lately I have met a lot of frontline morons in the game who cannot appreciate the hard work of logistics players.

    could u imagen if there was a mode where u just have to rebuild and restore all of the destroyed building and dugged trenches and moving all of the rubble and debris and it turns into a race who can fully repair there side first but it not just all player made . have all the bridges towns and dams be blown to smithereens and at the end u get a statistic of all of the things youre faction rebuild and what youre regiment did and what YOU did during the time like how many roads and fields are clear of landmines how many city are habitable again and how much no man land still exists

    Many casual don't care what war is going on, they play whenever they have time,
    For them to login and find there no war going on is very dissatisfying,
    A solution would be for serious players to take breaks- like if the war last more than 15 days i will join on 15th day, if it's a small war i will skip to the next war,
    I think the resistance phase should be even less time, this will allow those who are waiting after a break start a new war quicker

    I'm actually frustrated, I haven't played foxhole in a long time and I launched back in played a couple of hours, and now I'm stuck waiting for the next war. Maybe if there was more shards or something enjoyable to do during resistance phase I would find it a lot more fun. (I have 37.2 hours mostly on logi and pre 1.0 updates)

      Welcome back! Sorry you just missed the end of this war! Next war does start Friday and I'm surprised they are waiting that long. Last war they only waited like a day. Maybe they want more weekend traffic for it.

    The "break war" is absolutely a thing, unfortunately it seems the current state of the game is such that many players simply never come back. Everyone vs zombies would make me want to play a break war; the problem with other game modes is that they risk simply being more popular than the base grinder game and further splitting up the already low pop. When you have unequal player numbers on sides, and only 1,000 players total in the game on a big map, there's an obvious problem. Probably the simplest solution to burnout would be to make teching into artillery (including gunboats), mortars, ISGS, grenade launchers, and fire far far slower, so that players had more time to actually build defensive bases before the big hitters turn up. And yes, remove bombastone grenade and tremolas if you want people to ever play Warden again - the collie early war weapons are simply too good, the only reason the wardens have won anything recently has been collie regiments jumping over to play Warden to "prove" that wardens are playable. The current war, limping along at 22:10 with massively long logistics lines for Collies to get seriously bored driving, is a classic example: either the map needs to be smaller or there has to be a better reason to play warden despite having worse infantry weapons and fatal snow storms.

    one year late and i havnt played foxhole myself yet (I plan on buying it for my next birthday) But while watching this video ive come up with a potential idea, a resistance phase mode where both sides are fighting a common enemy, like say War of the Worlds inspired alien invasion, both sides have to work together to take down the tripodal alien vehicles, all being not consequential though

    sort of an unrelated rant but maaaaaaan as a kinda new player its pretty much impossible to play solo, you are sorta forced into joining a clan in order to get access to the higher tier items like tanks and what not. Is it "possible" to build a tank as a solo, I mean yea but is it also extremely tedious and frustrating for all the wrong reasons because stockpiling the needed resources is also tedious and frustrating, uhhhh yea. they need to make it less tedious to maintain a reserve stockpile and also the absolute most frustrating thing is being unable to get GD components because some jerk off clan milked the nodes dry. I should be able to mine my own resources even if i have to manually sledgehammer it to do it. the point is the whole clan mentality is pretty disruptive and it definitely seems like factions within factions and a civil war may break out at any moment XD. a good alternative to this is instead of having to join a clan to do specific thing have in game roles that you can assign yourself to or something idk like different branches within the colonials and wardens instead of different paramilitary death squad clans. Also since this is my first war i fought through its a shame that since I wasnt on at the moment of defeat or victory I don't really get any clue as to what happened I mean I know we the colonials lost because we were getting smashed these last few days but the game didnt even tell me XD, and then to hop on excited for the new war only to be met with a vague "resistance phase" message was absolutely blue balling and really frustrating to the point I had to find this vid to even figure out what the hell was going on. Also also if I wanted to hop on and socialize or just dick around with the bois I'd rather just go to VR chat or sum shizz XD.

      It really depends on what you want to do in the game. But you are right if you wan those higher tier tanks you do need to work as a group.
      This game for sure leans more towards working together with others and communication which a lot of solo players don't always like.
      You can get some of the lower end tanks for free in the middle of the war and pick up some random crew mates for a night which can be fun.
      I like the idea you have a bout roles. That would be interesting to try out.
      lol that stinks this is your first war and you had to wait in resistance phase! War starts today though!
      The start of the war is always really fun so you should try playing today when it starts. Frontline is just tons of rifle and fun engagments.

    1- i am a vet player - i think for me 4 days resistance will be the best
    2- the last resistance was so short - like insame - map reveal 18h before start of war was just a joke - dev don't think how much work is it to get organise between clan.
    3- resistance phase can be more cool but that much more work for dev - i prefere them focus on the game + balance - but zombie in resistance can be amazing

    Honestly, i hope they dont change anything. The solution to burnout is to play less. Not everyone needs to be punished for a small number of people who are frankly chronically online.. sorry

      lol! I think a better example of this would be like if you got 0 downtime in between games like League of Legends. The more you spam the game the worse the overall skill and quality is going to be. Does that make sense? All I want is a week in between wars and a fun wacky game mode in between.

      @@RobertLovesGames Most times, from my experience, I miss the frontlining and whatnot, and i'm dissapointed when I realize I'll have to wait for the next war to start. Also thank you for being so respectfull, I didn't know 😷🤒🤕 WAR**NS had human feelings.
