Feels like they are releasing a handheld every month
They basically are lol
And the problem is that they announce others to come 6 months later !!! 😅
The slide 2 July 2024 lmao
No dedicated ecosystem = no way to stick to one feature set.
Doesn’t help the Reddit is full of threads complaining about the devices, also doesn’t help that they keep pumping out new products which means they won’t support past devices very long
Fun fact, every 12 minutes Ayaneo releases a new handheld and it's their best yet!
not anymore :D
Oh yeaaaaaa
Thats why I don't think I would ever purchase one from them.
🤣🤣🤣
Yep. As you typed up your comment they are probably releasing a new device.😂
Buyer Beware: As someone who purchased the Ayaneo 2S and has been battling to get it fixed for 3 months now, just know what you’re getting into before buying anything from Aya. I knew I was playing a risky game buying from a company in China with a bad reputation for customer service, but having the $1000 device completely stop working after about 5 game sessions (battery holds a charge, but nothing displays on the screen) has been really upsetting. I thought the horror stories were like Yelp reviews where people just go to hate, but it’s real and I wouldn’t be surprised if it has increased in the past year with the more devices they have been putting out.
You disbelieved the user generated content and wrote them off as haters, and now here you are. Can't you see the irony of that?
I had my AYANEO device have a battery swell in under 8 months. From now one, get pc handhelds with easy support.
i bought my Steamdeck back in May and after using it less than a month, it went dead….like dead dead….nothing i can do about it.. i gave up buying handheld consoles until a proper n more stable unit comes to the market….
I believe him
@@reezevlog just send your steamdeck under warranty ? Steam support is excellent. WTF are you even crying about ?
i cant wait for the next ayaneo handheld next month
So confused right now on which one I should buy because they launch new device every Wednesday 😂
Same
Its really good for consumer. I would suggest the new steam deck oled.
I would wait for next year. I assume there will be at least one handheld with maxed out tech, amazing OLED screen and a lot of other great additions that combine the best features of the current models. Right now, every handheld has great features, but is lacking in certain things.
This is their flagship they’re using to go up against every other hand held.
I`m here after using steam deck oled that I bought instead of asus rog ALLY.
Guys dont buy it, it`s running games that I ran on my "shit" Ally that I returned in 50-55fps, in maximum of 29-32 fps, you gotta be crazy to agree to have this less performence over AYA, ALLY, and ESPECIALLLY legion GO.
SD was absolute blast before the competition began, now it`s just an indie game runner or old games. I just tried friends Legion GO, having an ability to play games like cyberpunk in 60fps, or Witcher 3 in 144hz in 1080p is just insane difference, its literally like choosing between gtx1060 and 3070 laptops and saying that 1060 is better LOL@@boss_niko
I have been waiting for this one!! ❤
I’m excited for mine to arrive! Great video. 👍🏽
It's really cool that there are always new handhelds from AyaNeo. As far as I'm concerned, there can be new ones every month as long as there's always an upgrade!!!
Very nice video once again I'm about as happy about that as I am excited about this product by far the best and it has everything I wanted (I was hoping for the track pads on another handheld) even the rgb
Definitely like the larger size. Track pads also seem very useful for general navigation around the device. I definitely miss them from my Steam Deck when I switched to the Ally. I do hope companies keep trying different designs like this so we can pick a form factor that suits the users needs.
How are trackpads useful when you have touchscreen?
@@randerinsRt games. You'll likely fat finger your small screen trying to select anything
Microsoft needs to get on the ball and build a handheld version of Windows so you don't need track pads. Certain games for sure you'll be limited without them on the Ally unless you connect peripherals to it.
Steam looks so capped as far as Performance.
Ordered one, can't wait to get mine!
ty again for testing out fight games on these devices, its exactly what im wondering with all these handhelds
ETA Prime you are a lifesaver! Appreciate you posting this video.
Holy moly that wallpaper is amazing❤
Man, that battery life is awesome. Honestly, I want that more than I want more power.
The issue is the total system power draw. If you look at the 18w Street Fighter test, it's using 37w total, which is really high for one of these devices. I hope they can reign it in before it ships but that's really concerning.
@@Spongegoose Dialing down the brightness, playing in a lower resolution and creating a custom fan curve might help with that power draw. Definitely raises some eyebrows.
For that price, you would expect a good level of support, but that's never the case with these devices. If anything goes wrong with your unit, you're on your own.
That's the reason the Lenovo legion go will blast this out of the water purely because of support and the reason the steamdeck destroys the Rog ally is community support.
@Antisocialnerd2 😂😂😂😂 oh you kids who think lenovo will blow anything out of the water. You didn't grow up with them evidently 😂😂
Also unless you can't problem solve steam deck dosen't blow anything out the water it just makes itself the "apple" of handhelds.
@@driftitlikeyouownit I grew up with Commodores man love how it's always babies pulling the age card.
@@driftitlikeyouownitHow to tell us you hate the Steam Deck without telling us you hate the Steam Deck...
@@driftitlikeyouowniti have had lenovo mobile and can confirm the after sales service is terrible. It's just another chinese company with just wide spread name because they sell things for cheap. But other than that there's nothing to expect after you buy the product.
Paired with the right power bank and you're in for several hours of gameplay with high FPS and great quality! I think that despite ayaneo "spread", they've might have gotten my attention with KUN! Hoping that they will lower the price a bit for Christmas but I think that they've nailed it this time! Excellent job AN!
I’m not so sure about nailing it this time as Ayaneo continue to carry a hefty price tag and a display that falls behind the Rog Ally and legion Go. 60hz? We should be disappointed.
@@suade8880not really you not running new games at 120 just lock it for better battery
@@chriswright8074 You may not be able to play new games on high enough fps but at least you have the option to on older games and it will run like butter. If you’re worry about battery life than you can lower your refresh down but the Rog Ally has VRR which does it automatic. Don’t get me wrong, this Kun looks enticing but it absolutely did not nail it this time when it cost much more with an inferior gaming display.
@suade8880 The only major downside is indeed the price, but the Ally and the future Lenovo Go lack one major thing, the RAM! Having 32GB of RAM changes everything as you can allocate more VRAM to the 780M, hence much better performance and higher FPS.. and do not fall for the 120Hz and 144Hz selling argument.. these are small displays, from 7" to 8.8", I rather have 60Hz constantly at 60FPS rather than having a 144Hz display at mid 30s... the RAM and the price of course is the only thing that keeps me from jumping into it.. I hope that the next ally will have 8"+ display and 32GB of RAM! ASUS has the experience advantage over their competitors so I truly believe that their next handheld will be the true King! Let's wait and see!
@@chriswright8074Most likely you're not going to be playing above 60fps playing cyberpunk but for other games or just general use, you can't not have it.
Don't need it but once you go past 60hz, you can't go back. Especially at this price mark
I really like 1600P screens for devices like this, old games you'll have the power to drive it, it looks great on the desktop, and with newer games you can drop it to 800P(comatibility minimum for windows and most games) while still maintaining a perfect 4:1 intiger scaling, making it basically look native, without requiring wasted horsepower to calculate scaling.
It makes FSR and RSR a little more useful too
Scaling hasn't taken performance out of hardware for 30 years already ... but you're right about the 2:1 looking amazing
@@contytub it takes extra power, either the screen, or GPU uses extra power, not that much but on a portable device its better to not use power if you dont have to
@@contytub on windows that is 😂 tell this to a Mac user :)
I'd love to see a video on how some of these devices age. Is the new Aya Space software being released for the 6800U handhelds, for example, or are they all stuck on the versions they came with? With the software being a notably weak point on many of them at launch, whether or not they are still being supported would make a big difference if anybody was looking at buying one 2nd hand.
The same way you4 pc ages
To have a front facing camera that’s nice, we needed that on one of these
Nice to see a handheld PC unit with a camera finally
They've mastered the handheld scene ❤
Can't wait to see how it performs at max power, plugged in as a super portable lan party pc.
Thanks for the review.... if you're going to put out another review on it with 54W it would be nice to see it hooked up to an eGPU. And also if it can go down to 5W please demo that and see if there are any issues
Looks so good
I heard that during the rendering process for this video, Ayaneo announced a new handheld.
i like the background or live action background this is interesting
It’d be great to see Bazzite being loaded onto handhelds that aren’t steam deck, to identify whether the console capability can come through without Windows.
Very kool! I’d love to have a handheld
Ayaneo is going way too fast with these iterations. Isn't this like their 16th handheld or something, with *another one* on the way? And how long will it be supported after they put out their next one?
Ayaneo going to fast might as well make a ayaneo sonic 😆
That's why I'm waiting
Whatever, I like tech that moves fast. And this is just one those markets that's exploding right now in innovation and improvements. At some point I'm sure they'll settle down. But I hope that doesn't happen for some while.
Also the lack of support for each item
They're not a console manufacturer, they're basically like a PC manufacturer. No companies that make PCs have just one product.
You're a legend 👏😊
2:23
What animated wallpaper are you using because it looks amazing!!!??
YES! Another one! Best ever
Looking forward to the 54W video. We seem to be a fair way into the 7XXX series release cycle, especially by the time we get the device delivered. I wonder how long this will stay "current".
It will stay current until they release their next, new, most powerful device…most likely next week. 🤣
Aya needs to focus on particular models more.
This seems great
thanks for these videos... would like to see what happens when you turn on fsr and max out the graphics from low/medium to high/ultra. Seems like one of the first handhelds that can handle 60 fps high quality gaming (with minimal fsr)
I'll wait for the Kun 2 next week.
That actually looks kind of nice compared to their previous handhelds. Especially the battery capacity, and that it's a tiny bit more reasonably priced. Now if only Valve would get around to making SteamOS available to other handheld manufacturers... All of the recent developments in the field would benefit a ton from the efficiency of SteamOS, plus there's a lot of game specific performance improvements built into Proton. Whether or not all that works as efficiently on other handhelds hardware (it does on desktops) is admittedly a bit of a question mark, but without the option, these are very expensive paperweights for the time being in my eyes. The $300-$400 Steamdeck price is just too well positioned for it's capabilities.
Thanks for the great first impressions, I'm curious about couple things noise of fan how load is on full speed compare to steamdeck? , and also battery charger, is a fast charger or how long to full charge ? And last question they still have the SD card reader under the kickstand ( i'm guessing they toke off ) ? Thnaks again @ETAPRIME !
I am really curious how the Kun stacks up to Legion Go given both is similarly spec but vastly different price point
Great review would you prefer this or a Lenovo legion I’m in the market for one but I’m not sure which one
That battery life is very promising. I’m almost tempted to order one.
Do not order one aya is crap
Na it maybe good but it’s huge if you have problems with any of that wait down the line first cause they release things very fast
@@GoCrazy69They have two products coming up this year, but this one is their flagship for this year. They'll likely wait for 8000 next year to use on Ayaneo 3 and Ayaneo Next II.
AyaSpace + RetroBat, the perfect combo for my AyaNeo
Hey, man, been watching for a while. Do you buy any chance have a Old tablet lying around Kind of need one for school.😊
Like those ancient disc drive players the keyboard sort of slides out the bottom so that the overall stiffness and durability of the device isn't hampered yet you can still use the function buttons when windows is being a bit melodramatic.
With what the Kun offers, I'm excited for Next II
Moon cake box, perfect gift for mid autumn
I like this.....
I WANT this!!!
Can't wait for AYANEO CHAN
When a company is releasing this many handhelds there's no way they're not rushing production
Amazing! Can't wait to get mine! I pre-ordered it on black to hide those bezels. I also got the 32GB-2TB version.
You really bought one?
MF’s rich out here 💰
@@dimes305 I'm not rich, I just have a job.
@@VaultF so do I but I already have an ally

Honestly, with so many new handheld being released I'm just going to wait for the 8000 series.
Went to TGS and played this in person . Yeah it's fucking massive . Even more so in person (that what she said 😂) . Personally I took a liking to the one x fly . Great form factor and and being it was probably on the whole time during the convention the unit wasn't hot and still ran games very smoothly
Cant wait for the AYANEO SAN coming next month 😅
This thing is awesome
This thing is a beast! If I had the cash this one would be the one I'd buy. This has the best form factor in my opinion.
It’s crazy ayaneo can keep pushing out new models and the 350 PPI is insane! (Or is it a typo?)
Will you make a video on the intel based macbooks which have the i5-5350u? It will be interesting to see what those "old" macbooks can do emulation wise.
This is all great but what is their customer service and after sales support like?
IS that dpad better for fighting games? What about the Contra test for dpads?
Seems a bit too much of a bowl to do things super rapidly, but I don'w know for sure.
Why not stick with the traditional Nintendo dpad? Hopefully this isn't a deal-breaker.
Awesome!
I would love to see a video of you testing apex, r6, and maybe even cod
Some day I need to see someone benchmark one of these with virtual desktop and Hotdogs Horseshoes and Hand Grenades to a quest 2.
The design are insane, but being same performance as cheaper ones and only 60hz no vrr display is a killer for this flagship. This silver are just so beautiful, remember me of those futuristic 2000s devices haha and the build quality seems very good
Yeah I’m in love❤
every 5 seconds ayaneo is dropping a new product, and i just heard they're dropping one in the next 5 minutes
im still stickin with my steamdeck. also can you put RE4 Remake in your benchmarks? the village section really pushes handhelds to their limits, especially during the night portion with the rain and weather effects.
lack of support will be the biggest problem, waiting for legion go to replace steam deck
I'm not gonna hold my breath. I'm simply waiting for a next gen Steam Deck, no alternatives, ever. Well maybe except for GOG CYBERPAD.
what do u mean lack of support💀
@@itzdcx7991 its their what, 16th? handheld..
@@itzdcx7991Ayaneo will release something "better" than the Kun soon. It's inevitable. They rarely support their devices and quickly move on to something new within weeks of launching a product.
@@itzdcx7991 Ayaneo has atrocious support. On top of that you the consumer have to pay to send it off to China and hope you get your device back in proper working order.
Hi Great Video as usually Prime, what would be a good EGPU to use with the Ayaneo Kun? Thanks!
Yes, it would
Use a Sonnet Enclosure (or such) and pop in your own.
Holy shit this looks like one of those mockups from the early 2000's about "the future console!"
Down to the design and especially the Playstation2 Slim silver color!
i feel my wallet getting warm
but tbh i am interested in getting one🙃
I like how they didn't ditch the track pads
A handheld finally came out that has a bigger battery than my Aokzoe A1 Pro
just looking at the box shows that it’s quality
That color and shape gives me an "early 2000s cheap chinese handheld" vibe
Awsome review but can i get a link for your wallpaper ?
I placed my order last week from indigogo I pray that I get my order because I can’t wait
I would love to see a breakdown on this thing.
I wonder why there is such little coverage on mainstream gaming media about these. All I hear about is Switch, ROG ally, Steamdeck and Lenovo Legion. But this seems like quite a step forward in specs and still has the same sort of quality those other products tout.
Price is probably the biggest reason.
Looks awesome. Would like to see Elden Ring and AC6. Still worried about the price.
This up against the legion go coming out will be cool.
Man the contrast of unboxing this beautiful thing only to boot up into a ridiculously busy Windows install. Ayaneo has incrementally improved their workarounds to Windows inherently anti-handheld design.
No mention of the screen refresh rate and looking on the Indiegogo there is no mention either. My guess is 60Hz. May not be a deal breaker for a lot of people but I have gotten used to the smoothness of the VRR 120Hz display on the Ally and am kind of looking for that if I were to upgrade to something bigger/better.
60hz portrait screen
Yeah 120hz is the sweet spot - won’t be upgrading from Rog ally anytime soon-
Here is the key rule when it comes to specs. If it isn't mentioned it's 60Hz. This was left out if this video on purpose I'm sure based on their request as Hz are usually mentioned on this channel.
I too have an Ally but has always been a fan of high refresh rate. I won't buy anything with 60Hz period unless it has VRR then maybe. 120Hz is the new base imo when it comes to gaming devies. 144Hz would be nice and 165Hz would be good enough. 240Hz would be perfect tho while 360Hz is for competitive needs only.
I'm definitely keeping my rog ally too...plus the rog has free sync. I don't want to buy a handheld with way less standards and that's gonna be outdated after a month and lose support. It does look cool 😎 though.
@@volcalstone 100% he's left it out on purpose. Can't upset the overlords otherwise they stop sending the free stuff.
why did they make it with a huge bezel? they did the Ayaneo 2 and 2s without bezels so why not with this one?
looks good, till like 3month later and your sticks drift how do you go about recalibrating it.
how do i get those live wallpapers?? They are so cool!
What about some performance comparisons with the ROG ALLY ?
Hello Mr. ETA Prime, can you share the link for the live wallpaper like yours? Looks so cool

I'd be interested in seeing the performance on Honkai Star rail. It's not a very demanding game (I get 60fps on my ally at 15w), but I wonder what it can do at 1600p.
looking forward to the egpu
im getting a fat pacheck in a week and a half, hopeflly there are still backing slots available by then
I would be interested in seeing how it runs ChimeraOS.
Whats the app you use to monitor the wattage and the total power consumption? And how to set up?
How good are they to provide updates for their custom software?
No SD card slot? How is the fan noise at something like 24 watts?
Thank you for your detailing review. The portable console looks very promising, BUT, if the support is not comes along with it - it wouldn't be great. I think Lenovo and Asus are still in my favorite because when you need support. They're there for you. Great review - Thanks.
Will the sliver paint not rub onto the hands over time?
