The biggest crime they committed was taking a character with the most dyanmic movement in Vampire Savior, putting her in a game full of crazy movement, and then breaking her kneecaps
Agreed. Her being like the sole character dumpstered by the "characters can no longer air block while air dashing" change from _MvC3_ going into _UMvC3_ just makes it worse.
Now she can sit in her wheelchair next to Season 3 SSJ Goku, whose knees were broken in the process of nerfing 2M.

@@Yeheah At least the things that unfortunately cripple Arthur are actually faithful to his game even as goddamn stupid as I find it that he can be OTG'd whenever his armor explodes. _(U)MvC3_ Hsien-ko doesn't even have that excuse since in _Vampire Savior_ she's decently faster for starters. (And hilariously, even Arthur is faster than Hsien-ko overall just due to how his physical lance-based normals propel him.)

Blown away by your editing and flow, this is something we don't really see often on FGC UA-cam.
As someone who got into Vampire Savior after UMvC3, it's endlessly frustrating to go back and see that Capcom decided to focus Hsien around her Dark Force and none of her actual strengths. She's probably one of the most interesting and complex characters Capcom had ever designed from a game design standpoint and none of that was translated whatsoever, but maybe it's for the best that Ten-Rai-Ha isn't evil in UMvC3... lol
Bruno is a goated editor, his videos for Maximillian Dood about Street Figther EX3, the Dan and Tekken Legacy are some of the most entertaining I've ever seen.

Man............that's one of the most satisfying and fun videos I've watched in a mighty long time, not even just FGC vids. All the info flowed into each other in a natural way, managing to put all that info together in a way that's concise but very entertaining while feeling holistic, wasn't monotone by any stretch and holy cow the editing speaks for itself. Outstanding job on all fronts keep up the good work.

Ok, Melee Yoshi is nowhere NEAR the level of bad UMVC3 Hsien is. Melee Yosh has always been a B tier char at worst, with some folks (like aMSa) arguing he's top 10. He has actual strengths, while Ko kinda just has the funny assist and little else.
Hsein Ko is closer to Kirby than Yoshi

The editing in this video is immaculate, really fun watch. I really wasn't expecting so many inspired effects and graphics for a video about a bottom tier in a 13-year-old game. So many of your edits made me think "damn, I need to work harder!"
I love Hsien-ko, I really wanted her on my team but I could never justify it without balancing her out with a top tier, and I was locked in on Haggar and Phoenix Wright. That assist is so good though, and her gameplay is so wacky compared to the rest of the roster. Anyways, great work, subscribed!

Its been over a decade and Im still furious they did her this dirty. In a game as absolutelt over the top as Marvel 3 where everybody becomes insane versuons of themselves they uniquely made her WORSE than in her home game for no reason, twice.
I love Hsien-Ko's design so much. I'm just hoping we get another Darkstalkers or Capcom vs. game to get her in some day.
Bro returns two years later and uploads another insanely well produced banger on umvc3. Refuses to elaborate.
I would apply 3 small fixes:
1. Make her air dash faster
2. Have her regular hops dodge most low attacks with the right timing
3. Make pendulum swing cancelable like in her home series
She wouldn't suddenly be top tier, but she could hold her own as a mix up monster.
Also, just give her more damage on her attacks overall. Why does she do the least damage???

Someone should make a series of videos (or a single) where they fix the low tiers in Mahvel . I have a ton of suggestions for Ryu alone, for example 😅

As an old Hsien-ko main from back in Darkstalkers, I find it quite insluting how bad she is in this game despite being great in Darkstalkers and also making MVC3 her only appeance in a mainline MvC game.
they never even bothered to put her back anywhere else ever since. She really needs a comeback, even if it means remastering UMVC3 and re-balance the fuck out of her.

As somebody that played pocket figher as a kid with her being my favorite character, then being in love while playing mvc3 for a day at a friends... im so disappointed to find out she's just a flop. It really is like they hate her.
I know next to nothing about UMvC3 and yet this was super fascinating to watch! Really well edited too, loved the little details like the Ave Maria playing while Haggar grabs haha

Some of the best editing in this style of video I've EVER seen
Hsien ko was on my main team for a couple years when the game first came out until i dropped her for frank west. I can conclude it is actually possible to chain her item toss move if you get the timing right. I was able to chain about 4-5 of the stars together. Basically impossible to do it in an actual match though. They did my girl dirty in this game for real.

This was a pretty cool video to see. Don't play or watch the game, but Hsien-Ko and her big sis Mei-Ling are my favorites of all time. I have heard how she is awful in the game, so cool to learn all the exact reasons as to why. Thank you for this video. :)
Yeah, even though I appreciate more Darkstalkers representation, especially from one of its sexy female characters, Hsien-Ko always came across as kind of a nothing character in UMVC3, like, she's the one character I tend to forget is in the game and her slow moveset is part of the reason why.
I just think there were other Darkstalkers characters that would've fit more with UMVC3's frenetic pace, like Jon Talbain, who was actually considered to be added to the game.
Also, say what you want about MVCI, but Jedah was honestly a much better choice for a Darkstalkers newcomer than Hsien-Ko.

Her being so bad still makes me sad to this day. Back when she was first announced, I lost my mind because she has always been by favorite Darkstalkers character. Sadly, she was just awful, and no amount of time spent could make up for it.

I repped her anyway because she's my waifu for laifu, bottom tier or not.
I always knew Hisen-Ko was the worst character in the game, but I used her day one in both UMVC3 and Vanilla pairing her with Morrigan and Dormammu and have no regrets whatsoever. I was a character loyalist and for some reason after seeing her character trailer I was in love with her and always used her. While I did use her assist with her hyper armor, there were times where a lot of times a made a comeback with her and have a ton of fun knowing the worst character was able to help me win a match, or even at times the other 2 characters were killed early and I was able to use her to defeat 3 characters by herself.
I put hundreds of hours in MVC3 and Ultimate, it was the first fighting game that got me into watching tournaments finding out there was a community for fighting games and I'm happy Hsien-Ko was a part of this great game.

I'll never forget. I was down 0-2 to Romora in losers side. I knew the game was over and was just having a miserable go of it. So I picked random all. Got Ko/Nemmy/Jenny. So I was fucking screwed. Walked up to him at 99 seconds and Ko Command Grabbed him. Literally the highlight of my night (I proceeded to get lightning looped and just alt-F4'd)

Makes me wonder how she fares in her original series. I saw one tier list put her in a bottom tier for one game and a mid tier in another. Darkstalkers is that one series that Capcom likes to have characters appear in other game and loves to reference it, but has never given it the time of day since the 90s. Would be cool to see a sequel with more horror characters.
