I tested the Viotek SUW49DA, not expecting to totally be converted to ultrawide resolutions. There was a little fussing involved with some older games, but check out the video for all the details.

Pistol is doing well. She streams on twitch and you can hang out with us there. Logan streams too but usually around 1am.
Bought this a month or so ago and wholly WOWO!!! I could never see going back....
How has it been so far? I'm really think about getting it
@@Bersto36 freaking awesome brother.
@@mbed0123 found out last week they have 5k screens which nobody talks on or shows benches of which tells me people must not know of 5k or else they would be using that
I use 5k on pcsx2 and it looks real good but I cant use 5k dlss for pc games cause I dont like the artifacts it has which is why I'll be getting a 5k screen
Paired my Dell ultrasharp 49" with a 3080, overclocked it to 80hz and the clarity and performance is mind numbing . Control, maxed out w rtx is simply gorgeous.
Dude Props to your movie selection! hahah :) Two favorites of mine.
Looking forward to the older game trials on this monitor.
Oh it's EPIC!!
Got myself a 49“ one from Samsung but with 1080p. Nearly two years old now and I love it.
All ubisoftgames support this, even assassins creed 2. Pubg ne some other games doesn’t support that aspect ratio. But in my experience, most games do and it is a rare sight to not see this ratio supported. Racing games are fun games like world of Warcraft are nice there too, if you like to use more add-ons than normal.
Sometimes in the future I will get one with 1440p, but first I need to upgrade my vega64...
I hoped for the 2080ti successor, but if the rumored prices are true, then i can wait for amd and get something better for the money.
Nice wallpaper i love Ghost!
I bought this this morning. Arrives Friday. Every cell in my body's cells are ready.
After 2 weeks with it, how ya feeling about your purchase?
I'm on a 3440x1440 ultrawide and I seriously can't imagine gaming on a 16:9 monitor. 21:9 is the absolute minimum when it comes to any sort of visibility in games. Would love to try out the ultra-ultra-wide but that might be a bit of an overkill on a home desk imo.
Come to the super ultrawide side and you'll think you were left behind with 21:9 after experiencing a 32:9 super ultrawide!!
Your amazon link doesn't work, for some reason it sends me to a different alienware monitor on the uk amazon. Monitor looks awesome though.
It’s not available in the UK, thats why.
@@_MJ07_ Idk why it sends me there though, I'm not from the UK.
gimme bobs. gimme bobkeys. that phrase is so stuck in my head lmao.
How would you compare this monitor to the Samsung CRG9?
So if a C49RG90 would be available in the same price range, would you still recommend this one?
I'm not 100% sure, this might even use the same panel, but it's basically identical in specs... So it's a toss up
I don’t think you’re getting 7680 x 2160. It wouldn’t even scale properly. How exactly did you verify that resolution?
Its 5k
Dude that looks so good

I never knew it was a such thing as 5k screens
I've had a Viotek ultra-wide in the past, it had a motion blur problem that made it fairly sickening to use. Looks like they've come a long way since then, maybe time to give them another shot.
With windowgrid, does that allow you to play games on the center 1440p display you create, while the side are still your desktop? Asking because I would love to use this for streaming purposes. Center my game and then have all the chat/alert bs on the sides. Would games register that center one as full screen, or would you need to run everything in windowed mode?
good question! guess we would just have to test it out ourselves.
Nice to see a solid 1440p monitor!!!
Its 5k
Ultrawide gaming's great, I won't go back, I like the look of this but I'm holding out for a 21:9 4K/5K Ultrawide (5120x2160).
viotek suw49da vs samsung crg9 which one is better?
Gaming will finally look like the movie Toys!
Amazing
So I just damaged my Samsung c49rg . Seem this is it’s clone. Thanks for posting think I may pick one up on Black Friday
I tried out the 49" Samsung CRG9 (same panel) coming from a 34" LG. It honestly game me motion sickness lol.. So if you're sensitive to that kind of thing you may want to think twice fyi.
G9 Odyssey for me. Refuse to live without 240Hz anymore. But resolution wise imho, way better then 16:9 for gaming for the reasons stated by Tek Syndicate.
found out last week they have 5k screens which nobody talks on or shows benches of which tells me people must not know of 5k or else they would be using that

soo happy to see larger 1440p panels. but this is slightly too big for me. I really want a 40" NONcurved 16:9. might get this though. 4ms is nice. how is the motion blur tho?

That even looks big on camera.
Holy damn that is a large display. I am torn though, Like, I stream a lot of what I play.
And I doubt OBS will like this resolution. but it's cool non the less. Personally, I'm still being a massive scrub with a 16:9, 24" 1080P display.
For OBS I would just run a 2560x1440 windowed game in the center of the screen and use the sides for chat and such
logan... logan. what if you have this as a main monitor... and then mount your 4k above it? yes? yes.
i mean it "is a Hassel" it takes up a ton of desk space before speakers
Its like someone's 55in 5k screen got cut in half. Fuck that.
Hey, I actually have the AOC AGON AG493UCX which uses the same Samsung panel and has similar specs and price. My only issue with it is if I use PBP (picture by picture) the white balance is off between the left and right sides.
Does this monitor suffer from the same? If so I will get the Samsung version or the Odyssey G9 when that is re-released... Thanks!
Hey there, how are the stand adjustments? The website isn't clear and I'm pondering getting a desk mount.
I think they are really good, and highly adjustable.
When using Quad corner snap I find that 1440 vertical is just not enough. I really miss 16 : 10 monitors. If there was an ultrawide version with 2400 vertical I'd jump on that.
Oddly enough while there isn't a 5120x1600 monitor that I've been able to find, you can get 3840x1200, which is also 32:10.
will it fit on a 29 inch desk cause your desk look almost like mine but my monitor stand is raised from my keyboard
Linear editing on a curved panel must take some getting used to. Not sure If I can do it as I spend hours in my DAW.
It's not so bad at this size with an 1800r curve. My steaming monitor is a 32" 1800r and I do not notice it.
@@teksyndicate I can see that because at that distance it may be minimal...thx for the reply.
can you run two display ports without the signal dropping
How can I get this in Europe? Been looking for something just like this!
No luck here either (UK) been also looking as I was after a Samsung G9 - but they have gone out of stock within minutes on the Samsung site. This would save a few quid towards other upgrades.
@@chrisryan3445 yep the g9 here is at least 1500 euros. Too expensive for me. This one I would consider if it was around its dollar price.
@@MetalAddict99 I was considering it, was available on our Perks at Work site for just over £1000...but Samsung removed themselves from the program about a week ago just as it came back in stock. I am not reading great reviews on the Samsung website with regards to quality control either now - so this is looking like a good option for me, once I can source it within the UK or EU
Would I be able to hook up an Xbox and still be able to split screen like how you are? If so is there something I need to download? Or how does that work.
$1,000? Yikes
Congrats ur first!
Well the alternative is the Samsung G9 - $1700
@@sophiethecat9256 when people used to despised others for being the first and now this haha
Dropped 100 bucks
I'm looking for something like this, unfortunately it's not available in europe
What’s the maximum brightness in nits?
How well can it handle excel? Looking to buy it for my wife while she is working from home.
I tried ultrawide, I didn't like it. The ratio at any size makes the image seem too vertically short to me.
I use one daily and I have to agree I think it could use just a bit more vertical real estate but it's not really that big of a deal. What is taking some more time getting used to for me is dealing with the whole stretch/zoom or black bars on the sides when watching 16:9 content like youtube.
"Ultra wide" is the new scam the same as the old scam. We had 1920x1200p, then they cut off 120 pixels off the height and they called it "widescreen".
Now they realise instead of selling 1x55in 2880p screen for $1500 they can cut them in half and sell 2x 48in 1440p "super duper wide" screens.
And people are too stupid to know what's going on.
Soon they'll cut an 8k screen in half and we'll have 7680x2160p or "8k mega wide" which is somehow still 8k?
I cant afford an ultra wide so I just got some duct tape on the top and bottom of my screen so now its a 1920x720p "2k ultra wide".
@@tomstech4390 lol you are not going to run games in 32:9 at 2880p you clown.
I don't want to game on that. Everybody knows that the human eye can only ... order stuff with sufficient money 👍
did you have to do any special to get 120hz? I have this same monitor and its only giving me 60hz when using 5120x1440. I do only have a gtx 970 but don't think that would have an effect.
You need a display port to hdmi

I bought this monitor because of this review, it is REDONKULOUS!!!!!!
i have 34 inch.
this seems like too much for games
@@spatrk6634 not to much
aren't win10 pro keys like 5 bucks on ebay
Frames per second - that's why widescreen isn't for me. It does look mighty tempting, even so
It goes up to 120hz so plenty of room for high fps if your rig can run it at that resolution.
hi :) wall mount coming with it?
can someone explain how he's playing mario kart like this?
Emulator prob. But the screen stretch is horrible lol
now what im wondering
who is the real creator of these screens are the same as AOC and Samsung panels.
seems only foot stands and some software is actually different
every company claiming they the best version
yet someone actually made these.
must be like a sticker just applied on these
7:45 what game is this ?
Looks like far cry 5
HDR 400 sucks, it isn't real HDR ( I have an HDR 400 monitor, if you want a good HDR monitor with 120hz you should buy an oled TV like the LG or vizio)
next time to want to convert to metric. use CM. not MM for somehting this large. 1 cm is just 10mm, and 1m is 100cm.
lost me at VA.
IPSee you're a (hu)man of culture as well.
Same ahahahah
