I tried both and for someone that doesn’t have large hands the ally x feels way more comfortable and also the controls on the ally feel more like a controller than on the legion go plus more battery life My vote: Asus ROG Ally X
Both have their pros and cons . IMO I had both kept the X Liked the screen size of the Go. Didn’t like the screen aspect ratio . Like the stick and button and stick layout on the X better . Main reason for keeping the X over the Go is the game I play the most is Diablo Immortal and it plays much smoother and higher FPS than the Go .
Thank you for that review, I've owned the legion go since launch, but the battery anxiety, lack of portability, and constantly needing to tinker due to various reasons have left me underwhelmed. I absolutely love that large screen on the Go it has to be said but after the honeymoon period I found i had to make too many compromise when it came to gaming, which is the ONLY reason why I bought the go. I've now made the decision to sell my legion go and have purchased the Ally x. Simply bescuse like urs every other review I've seen gives the nod to the Ally x when it comes to gaming. I figure if I ever need to use it as a laptop, I can just hook it up to an external screen.
@@laultimaentrevista Are you talking of the regular Ally? Because of course, everyone knows the issues that comes with that one. About the Ally X on the other hand, it’s a different story 🙂
Just got my Legion Go last Friday and man im sooo happy with it, my Alienware m17 r2 died on me about three weeks ago and it was either this or a ps5 and man this thing is way too cool lol got me a Uperfect 2k 144hz monitor jsaux dock and razer mouse and keyboard, new main setup now no doubt
Hey I'm currently choosing between ally extreme, legion go and ayaneo 2. What makes you want to switch from ally extreme to legion go? From what I can tell as a mobile device the ally is better. As far as features the legion go has more but it also has potential deal breakers like loud fan, terrible speakers and portrait display. What are the deciding factors for you that makes you want to switch?
I went with the go, that experience of removing the controllers like a switch is awesome. The freedom to game without keeping my hands together for hours like handcuffs lmao.
You'll get a better bang for you buck with the Legion. All comes down to preference and what you use it for but I've also owned an Ally but didnt end up really using it. Much harder to navigate windows without a trackpad, no built in kickstand, dosent even come with a case at that price point but overall even in comparison, the Ally X only gets about a 5-10 frame difference in games from the legion go. Like others said, there are pros and cons to each but the legion really does offer more versatility while still having great performance.
I also prefer the legion go although the rog ally x has slightly better performance but i do have an Egpu connected to the dock so when i wanna enjoy a sit down gaming experience
I own Lenovo legion Go only but i suggest ROG ALLY X for Performance and User friendly comfortable to hold and can be put in a bag. Lenovo Go for Big Screen and multiple functions i use this for work and gaming only. downside i cant put it in a bag hahaa
I bought the new Legion go and exchange it for the Rog ally z1 non extreme, after a month and I am very happy with The Rog ally witch is much better working with no compromise than the legion Go
For me as having a PC Tech background, I just can't pick Ally X over the Legion Go... It's like a modders dream handheld IMO. The versatility and modding potential is awesome. The design is a versatile, premium balance between professional/ gaming. A "mature aesthetic " design that says I can work and play. I can't wait for the second gen model to come out.
No matter whatever comparison people are thinking legion go is one of the best device ever and most powerful. However, Ali has a ram of 24 GB and more battery life there is nothing else. Is there in LAX good for those needs smaller screen but go is the beast.
Tried the Legion go but, because of my eyesight limitations it seemed to large and, not as detailed. the ally x is not as vibrant but, is much more crisp and clear better battery. The Go was also more annoying in the legion space app.
IDK if you know this but on the Ally you can change the display color and stuff and make it way more saturated and better looking making it look basically identical to the Go or better then the Go
As deck fan I found lenovo go better because the screen size and buttons and laptop 💻 mod I which if lenovo go had oled screen and bigger bettery life and better warranty, ally x is just steam deck ripped in gba style even the new msi better even though deck being loved because the company and Amd custom made the device longer age orgianl steam used to be nevida gpu but they said they used custom AMD to make it more like ps4 mixed with Nintendo switch and pc ,I hope they made full windows drivers for oled vr
The legion go hands down deliver the best handheld experience due to its screen estate but also bulky. However 16gb of ram just doesnt cut it. Windows 11 uses too much resources with just microsoft edge running how can the ram usage be 76% this is just ridiculous. If you want to use windows 11 i think 24gb isnt really enough it needs 32 for triple a titles.
i like the legion go thou but the only downside was the portrait display and the grips were a bit uncomfortable to me, audio ugh and yes its bulky. if its in solid 8" landscape, better audio and the grips are more rounded then id choose this over X
There both good I have the legion go but also looked at the ally but I have big hands and problems with grip strength and find the go screen size better much easier to see
Would definitely choose the go over the x, BUT the performance difference is too big and legion go doesn’t even come close to the x, am I doing something wrong definitely not, followed every single tutorial to every possible problem. So my conclusion just got unlucky and got a faulty unit, make that three cause I had it returned multiple times at this point, whilst ally x ran perfectly no hassle no returning plus better specs battery etc. for me its definitely the best just because of that.
Had the OG Rog Ally since the day it came out. A friend was selling a Legion Go a month ago cheap so decided to buy it and give it a try. End up selling the Rog Ally. The screen is what sold me even tho everything else is better on the Ally in my opinion once I got into that 8.8 screen it was so hard for me to go back to 7. I play mostly indie and turn based games so I honestly never cared to much bout performance since both can do 100+ fps no problem. Just wished they made the X screen 8 inches.
Great video. Thank for putting in the time in to make it. I'm team Legion Go all the way because the screen size makes it so immersive. I do want to point out that an egpu would NOT allow you to take advantage of the higher resolution Legion Go screen. It is my understanding that it would be too taxing on the system to output to the egpu and also input from the epgu. That said, I think the best way to take advantage of the higher resolution (if you have a PC or other consoles) is via Steam Link (resolution up to 4k) and remote play (resolution currently at 1080 for xbox and ps5 but hopefully 4k soon). I'm blessed to have all the things and my Legion Go is my go to device that can play all the things.
Ally x is better. Legion go is solid but the ally x is portable, more powerful, and has vrr. I sold all my games and sarted fresh now im back with pc, xbox sx, switch and i have money rn to purchase one more device. A ps5 , or an ally x. Very difficult choice but may get the ally x for now until ps6 comes out.. sony lost me
@Strugglin Comparing a red brick to a cinder block . There is a massive difference in portability and arm and wrist cramping . Yes the screen is nice but it's a boat anchor to hold for long gaming sessions but I geuss you only gotta hold it for 45 minutes before it dies 😂
@@youngjustin82Exactly how can the go be portable of your basically stuck to a wall socket....I really like the go but the bad fan speakers and battery is a no...and I don't think the screen is gonna make up for that.
i snag the legion go on sale imo legion go with a power bank is a game changer the difference in performance is kinda noticable but not a deal breaker imo if the go is on sale snag one is a better deal but if they are price normally then go for the ally x if u have the money either one is great anyways
