Thanks to this video i will watch for my chromium levels. Excellent one Medicosis and thank you for the quick review in the beginning before jumping into the main subject!
This was great video. I was particularly interested in the explanation of “Insulin World” and “Glucagon World.” One particular topic I am trying to find more about is how chromium (or its deficiency) plays a role in insulin resistance, gluconeogenesis and catabolism in patients on high-dose steroids such as prednisone. In many cases patients taking high-dose prednisone end up with insulin resistance, become diabetic, and develop steroid-induced Cushing’s syndrome, losing muscle mass and gaining fat in their midsections. It would be interesting to know what role chromium might play in mitigating these processes. I suppose if chromium was known to mitigate insulin resistance in such patients, prescribing it would be standard of care, but to my knowledge, that isn’t the case. Also, You mention adequate intake of chromium is 30 mcg/day, but in special circumstances, such as the patient taking high-dose prednisone mentioned above, I wonder if the optimal amount would be different. Thanks as always for another very informative video!
ARDS is a life threatening condition due to severe compromise to the alveolar capacity in gas exchange usually after spesis or severe lung infection :)
I have insulin resistance and I lost 15 pounds in 3 months taking chromium picolinate and magnesium glycinate
Wow amazing crash course. Excellent work, well put together.
