For anyone else whose bunny struggles with gut motility, Bene-Bac Plus by Pet Ag significantly decreased the number of bouts for mine! I give him a dose each day in his veggies.

I have a baby rabbit that has around 2 months that was gifted to me, I cannot find any rabbit vets around here because people don't really keep them as pets. I try to learn as much information as I can to give him the best food in order to have a healthy life. However, he started to leave too many cecotropes around and I cannot understand why. He eats alfalfa hay and alfalfa pellets. He eats and drinks and act normal. Does anyone know what should I do ?
My bunny is in critical care and he’s pooping tiny poops& but mainly cecrotropes. How long will it take for it to return back to normal I started critical care Wednesday night.
How do I know if they have something in their stomach that they can't digest? please answer this because my bunnies chewed a lot of a wall but the wall was like already bad and easy to break so they chewed it, and my dad wouldn't cover it so now they chewed almost all of it. It layed on the ground the pieces they chewed put how do I know if they ingested it and is it dangours? Please help!!!! I really tried to get my dad to cover it but now its too late and im scared it's stuck in their stomach. They are eating and pooping but can it damage how long they live? Please help!!!
@@ilseale_ hey 👋🏼 so since doing some research online and through veterinarians/rabbit savy vets there can be two things that’s happening ether 1. Bunny isn’t eating them because he/she is ether over weight or restricted so therefore can not reach down to eat the cecotropes there could also be dental or oral pain associated therefor your bun isn’t eating them. The other explanation is more likely and what I was experiencing with my bun 2. A diet too high in carbohydrates, protein or sugar can cause an upset in the balance of bacteria in the ceacum causing the over production of cecotropes this is when your bun ignores the extra droppings as they contain unneeded nutrients therefore become ether stuck on the fur, squish into the ground or just left there. This is most commonly a result of too much dry food or too many processed treats. If this is the case, you can resolve it by reducing the amount of pellets and increasing the amount of hay or feeding higher fibre/lower protein pellets. I took my bun off verges as she would ignore her hay and not even touch it which again was part of the over production of cecotropes but since I’ve put her on Hay and a few pallets/ verges she’s been amazing and the over production has stopped xxx Hope this helps
@@Anamrxx Thank you so much for all the information I appreciate it! It’s definitely very helpful , I think my bun is definitely also eating too many pellets. He’s only 4 months old so I was told unlimited pellets but I’m gonna lower it a bit and give more hay and water see it that helps. I also took away veggies since I introduced a new leaf a couple days ago so that could also be causing an imbalance.
@@ilseale_ no problem and yeah that was me too I have my bun unlimited palettes as I was told that wa S the right thing to do but that also caused my hun not to eat hay which in return she would really touch her water ether as soon as I made the changes she’s been fine every since xx
@@Anamrxx Yeah that’s great I’m definitely seeing a difference. And that is very true I noticed he’s been eating more hay since I’m reducing the pellets .

My rabbit Lollipop has gone into GI Stasis twice now. Each time I was able to get her into the vet right away. 😀

My bun had gi stasis after neutering surgery but he is happy and healthy now!
Glad to hear it!! I know that’s pretty common after surgery because they’re not in the mood to eat.
My bunny has soo much ceacotrophs in the mornings S I’m not sure if she eats them or not... is that a bad thing if she doesn’t eat her ceacotrophs?
