holy that clip of those omilus coming right in was probably one of the best that Ive ever seen, I use grunting quite a bit but have never had a reaction quite that crazy🤙
I love the how to videos. So helpful for us new spear fishermen. Also it was cool to see some of your quick shots for those of us that can’t hold our breath very long. Some of your longer dives just seem unobtainable to new people like me. Keep up all the great content.
Ryan, your tips are the best. I just had my best spear fishing day ever. 3 days in the Florida Keys. And I finally feel like I get it, thanks to your teaching. Forever indebted and grateful
Another amazing catch and cook video you guys! The sugar and salt in the marinate cured the fish, which is the process when making Gravlax or preserving fish. The longer it stays in the marinate/cure the more it breaks down the fish, drawing out water, absorbing the marinate's flavors and changing it's texture. It's like cooking without heat. I suggest for next time to check up on the texture and taste a bit of the fish each day it's marinated/cured and then take it out when it's ready to your liking. You guys did a great job! Keep on cooking!
Thanks for another great video! I just got into spearfishing on Oahu a few weeks ago after getting stoked on your content. Starting out with 3prong and having success after watching your vids with Justin! Recently though my concerns about ciguatera poisoning have been making me reluctant to eat many of the reef fish I get with the 3 prong (Kole for one). Any chance you could make a video on ciguatera poisoning here in Hawaii (Oahu), areas and species to avoid, how you deal with it, etc. Thanks!
Very nice video proof that your slow, non aggressive bottom position and small movements are a winning combination. Thanks for all your tips and the catch and cooks are becoming a hit on my list of have to see portions of your videos too!
Ever since I started posting dive vids people have been telling me to check out your channel, I'm glad i finally did! Thanks for the informative video and tight lines 🤙
Love the videos, I want to get out and try spearfishing and freediving so bad! Was on the big island last year and it was incredible, hope to be back sometime. When I do I hope I can do some freediving and maybe even some spearfishing.
I love how honest you guys are with the taste tests because so many other people on youtube are like iTs SOoOo gOod every time 😂great tips too all us viewers appreciate it!
Hi there nice vid!I noticed your rope that connects to the buoy maybe you should try to replace the last 10mt to thick fishing line so as not to be visible.
I’ve seen that symbiotic behaviour with goatfish and small jacks. It’s almost as if the jacks wait for the goatfish to dig out worms and grab them. In turn, the jack sort of circles the goatfish, almost as if they’re keeping other fish away
just got back hunting bottom and wrecks in south padre island trying some of your tips. it's crazy the things that spook away wary fish! had some huge mangroves coming into range and i just barely clicked my blades together by accident and they bolted. sigh but wiser. the young schoolers weren't so leery.
I was curious about that to. . Especially because of the knifejaw... Wasn't the worst reported cig case from a knifejaw? An older couple and the husband was actually in a coma for a while and had to relearn how to walk....
There was a time when I got "tired" of eating Stuffed Baked Uhu... Tried in NUMEROUS ways but even my KIDS got tired of it.... SO, being that I LOVE to try different styles of cooking... I decided to try making Buffalo Uhu....Well, guess what's BACK on the shopping list, lol Great video, guys!!!
LOL great tips, the cook up was funny as, but would you mind posting up the recipe in the description as you ripped through it. Thanks for sharing the fun, I was laughing at the end cause my Misses is so the same, 8 day old fish?? Is it safe to eat, is it cooked what if...... OMG Supermarket fish are usually at least 8 day old...just eat and enjoy it......
What is up Ryan! Awesome vid with smexy stone shots for days! Was just wondering if we could get a vid with all of your mistakes, missed shots and you talking about what went wrong and how to fix. Stay awesome!
If it's dry it's been overcooked! Lol. Doesn't matter 😂🤣👍. Keep them videos coming. Last time I done spearfishing I was 18 years old back in the Azores. Haven't done it since and I miss it. At 42 and in the UK with watters that you can't see a foot in front of you it's impossible.
Please please please make a video on the different types of shaft materials available on a speargun. It is very essential to know the different materials and their durability as well as strengths. Not to forget their specific uses. There is not a single video on the entire UA-cam platform mentioning the various types steels that are used for shafts available in the market.
From a non spear fishers perspective. I think increased downtime is key to increasing your hunting success. Until you can comfortably get to the bottom and stay down for longer than a full minute you just cannot sit still. Not being able to stay in the hunt zone because of being in a constant out of breath condition limits your ability to be an effective hunter. Does that sound correct to you? So a beginner should work/train on a longer breath hold to reduce panic and increase downtime. Mahalo for the video
From analyzing your POV shots. It looks like you just focus on reaching the bottom before flatting out. Like nothing matters until you reach the bottom?
Dude my name is austyn Collins I’m just starting spearfishing I’m 19 years old I’m from South Carolina my ABSOLUTE DREAM IS TO GO SPEARING WITH YOU MY FRIEND HOPEFULLY IT CAN HAPPEN ONE DAY KEE DOING WHAT YOUR DOING MAN

I wish the uhu were that friendly for me, their giving you shots left and right
You gotta tone down your dusting technique, bro.
Please please please make a video on the different types of shaft materials available on a speargun. It is very essential to know the different materials and their durability as well as strengths. Been waiting for this
I always see a ton of Opelu Kala in your dive videos...you ever try shoot one and sashimi it? It tastes better than Mu.
Tako at 2:51
Are you shooting wide or superview on your pov shots?
Right on Ryan.

Hey that cooler is so clever, where can I get one? (I’m in Australia)
Link and code in description! 🧊
What size CreekKooler do you have? I'm deciding on which one to get- the pup or the normal size
AAAAHHHHHHH!!!! Shoot the omilu!!!
Aspetto gang
We call uhu birds because they are parrot fish. Hence the name “birds”
Ryan can you do a video of how to stay flat in water? I always struggle with keeping my fins down
And a how to fillet fishes to save meat! For newbies like me
Where did you get your cooler/floater? Thank you ;)

Hi Ryan! I’m a beginner diver and found a love doing it. I live in Hilo and would love to learn from you man! Let me know please if you ever need a partner one day! 🤙
Hey man. What's your take on wooden vs carbon barrel.
I prefer carbon because it's lighter
Hey Ryan, what size gun here in Hawaii? Thanks for all your info👍
They call them birds because they’re called parrots 🦜 and they have cool beaks too that eat the corals 😊
I'm coming to Hawaii at the end of April can you take me and my dad spearfishing
Moana mastah🤙🏽
They call uhu birds cuz they are “Parrot” fish
Also because they have beaks.
What gloves you use?

Nice collat
Where’s the GoFund me link to get Sam a pair of tongs?
SYCK BRUH!!!!
What’s the name/brand of that bouy?
Should’ve invited me bro aha I would’ve been there 😂🤙🏽
Interesting.
Uhu are "birds" because they are parrot fish. Keep up the great work!
What kind of spear gun do you have ?
Soo sick
We nickname the uhu "birds" is because of the name, parrot fish 🤙.
What do you mean as in "grunt"?
