The amount of indigenous persons missing is astounding.
The RCMP do not take these disappearances seriously and regularly screw up the investigations.

I'll agree with you on your point though, i strongly suggest them indigenous police to look into these cases...RCMP sorta or dare i say "look out onto themselves(not unless you're highly regarded for them to kick their horse and start the search) or if you are considered of *high* status"
Thats just MPOV..fire away if otherwise....RIP if they aren't found and may THE heaven above strike the perp(s) if *found or no found*

@@kesefang1526 I agree if this is what you ment . Indigenous police would be a better choice to investigate the disappearce of the indigenous woman.. It could possibly eradicate any suspicion of possible racism.. I also think some of these women were killed by those closest to them.. Very sad stories these women were so vulnerable... Sometimes I wonder too.

I agree with the person who suspects that Rhonda Running Bird's husband might have done something bad to her. If he will beat her bad enough that she needed a colostomy bag, then why is it out of the realm of possibility to believe that he might have killed her?

How frustrating !! It sounds so obvious that the Boyfriend did it. Why can't there be a program like Big Sisters to help ? Where every Family in Canada sponsors one Native Female for their life ? Have it so there's help to make sure this relationship works and money is available for the Family or they're reimbursed. Each Family provides a safe place to call, to get advice, to be loved and cared for. Kids need to be shown love and care so they can love and care for themselves and their own Families. I wish there were others that felt the same.

We need to be ashamed that not every person who goes missing gets treated the same no matter what we think the circumstances might be in their life. Everyone matters even if they live on the fringe of society such as sex workers or person who have addictions. No one due to race, skin color should be excluded from having the same protection from law enforcement. Those who didn't take these cases seriously should be held accountable. It make me sick to hear how indigenous people are treated by authorities. This is why so many indigenous people who go missing are never found. I've had the honor to work for the Fond du Lac reservation, and they treated me with nothing but respect. The Anishinabe people are some of the kindest people I have ever met in my life. They shared their beliefs with me, and helped me to embrace my Blackfoot Heritage as well as my Irish and German heritage.

Thank you for this upload. In Canada Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, or MMIW, is a very current and important topic. According to the RCMP, from 1980-2012 there were 1200 MMIW. The more accurate number is 4000. Due to Racism, many of the women reported were not taken seriously. The women were thought of as “prostitute’s, drug addicts, runaways, etc and nothing was done to look for these women. As well many young girls in foster care disappear. “Oh, she just ran away”. 7% of Canada’s population is Indigenous and 1/2 of the children in care in Canada are indigenous. The indigenous population , all 7% of the 35 million in Canada, also have a 7 times higher murder rate, than the rest of the country. Many indigenous students have to leave their remote communities to attend high school. They are hundreds of kilometres away from everyone they know and are billeted with a family they don’t know which is most likely not an indigenous family, who gets money to house the children. Please watch the “Highway of tears” documentary. Or listen to the “Finding Cleo” podcast. It will provide more information on this current crisis. I hope every family gets some information.

The horrible thing is, there never was a local bus service there (I’m not sure if there is one, even is now). It’s in fairly isolated location, even though there were many summer cottages there at the time. To get to the next town and the Greyhound station would’ve been a 15 minute drive. It breaks my heart to think she was trying to get there, and there was, in fact, no means to do so. 😥

Thank you for bringing these women to the world wide awareness. While I am American, I travel to Canada frequently to visit family. I always look at faces and hope that these ladies are found and reunited with their loved ones. All of them.

Pretty obvious in Rhonda and Valerie’s cases that their significant others were responsible or at the very least know more about their disappearances than they are letting on. Very sad.

What a sad state of affairs. A life is a life. It doesn’t matter what race you are. Nor does it matter is you’re addicted to drugs or work in the sex industry. These poor women and the broken families that are left behind. RCMP should be ashamed of how many of these cases haven’t been thoroughly looked at. These girls needed to be accounted for!

That Valerie was probably killed by her bf he took her camping way up in the bush n he buried her there so he would have an alibi.

I know that somebody out there in the world knows what happened to these women. Anybody who knows and doesn't speak up to help locate the women, either dead or alive, have a special place in hell. The families of these missing women deserve answers, even if it's bad news, they deserve answers.

It's amazing and unforgivable the genocide these poor people have experienced both in Canada and America, and the blatant racism they continue to experience to this day. They have a beautiful, peaceful culture...

I found out about these beautiful women through UA-cam. I hope that all the families find their missing loved one's or what happened to them. That all the resources that are needed to assist the families come through, no one deserves what these families are going through let alone no assistance from police and government agencies. I'm from Australia, But my parents came from El Salvador. I wish and pray for all the missing women, hope the families the best for each day they have no knowledge of their loved one's whereabouts. All the best from Australia.

Always a topic that needs more attention!! We spent the month of October last year solely focusing on missing indigenous women. We covered Larissa Lonehill on your list. (We also covered Jamie Yazzie who was just found, unfortunately, she was deceased and her case remains open). Keep spreading awareness- this is a big problem in the U.S.!

Thank you for bringing some awareness to this. I live in Edmonton and it is so sad how many are missing. It is only now getting a little attention even though it is not a new problem by any means. My heart breaks for these women and all those that have been forgotten. We will not let anyone forget again or anymore!

So valarie goes missing without her belongings and what does the bf do.....packs up and leaves the next day at noon. Massive red flags that he didnt care to wait to make sure she made it back safe considering he had her phone, wallet, keys and clothes.

i live right around where leona went missing (as in, a few blocks away) and you only see the occasional missing person poster. its hearbreaking, i wish la grande police cared more about people of colour, specifically native women.

I think if the police/RCMP put an OUNCE of effort into these cases, they could solve them. Its a disgrace that aboriginal women in Canada are seen as expendable.

The police said 48 hours had to pass before they do anything?
Is this because the first 48 hours are the most important in finding people? 🤔
