Funny, it's a rainy and very cold winter night where I live. I'm inside nice and warm all cuddled up in my bed under very warm and fuzzy blankets. I'm about to listen to this ghost story for the first time.
I'm in the US, but my Irish Grandma would tell us ghost stories, especially on Christmas. This video brings back those cherished memories. Love a good ghost story. Thank you so much!
13:54:00 My old eyes tire easily to the point I can't read more than a few minutes at a time and don't even watch TV much anymore. It's such a delight to find this collection of wonderful stories well-read. On a cold, dreary day I can make a pot of tea, sit back with a cat on my lap and just listen. Bliss! Thank you for this joy.
I love the old vampire movies w Christopher Lee & Peter Cushing, Barbara Steele, Vincent Price and a few w Peter Lorre - Hammer Films, Amicus Peoductions, those old Poe adaptations. They'll never make great films like that ever again-- how dare they all age and die and leave us with this barren landscape of entertainment that the world has become!! I am soo tired of CGI and badly done special effects that are so glitzy and flashy that my mind can't even process what is happening from one explosion to the next, again in this barren wasteland of the entertainment industry that has to s*x everything up and ruin it That is, until I found such a wonderful replacement as your channel! I was searching for M.R. James and others and stumbled on your channel; Thank you for this kinder, more gentle avenue for thinking people who love a good turn of a phrase in a well written work presented by a person as talented as yourself. Christmas and listening to this at 2 am. Got a call at 6:30 pm Christmas Eve while I was prepping for Christmas brunch that a family member had been injured and needed me to take him to the hospital. 7 hours later he’s home again and now so am I. It’s amazing all the doctors, nurses, orderlies, pharmacists and others all there on Christmas Eve. All cared for my relative with not only professional expertise but also cheer and humor. Our plans will all have to be postponed while he heals but I’m just grateful to be home, safe, and enjoying this lovely fireside library and your delightful voice reading these spooky stories. Thank you and Merry Christmas. ❤
