EMOTIONAL RELEASE 2/4 - ANGER - PILLOW PUNCHING - SOMATIC EXERCISES

  • Anger is one of our most suppressed emotions.
    Holding it in from our lives - or not finding health ways to feel it when something does trigger us - leads to us storing it in the body.
    As we ignore our emotions, not allowing them to flow, they build within our body - blocking our energy. Symptoms - pain, tiredness, fatigue, unexpected emotions, depression arise when we're not in tune with our body or its signals.
    These exercises in this series can be used daily to process through emotions when the arise - or to 'clean up' lingering energies from your past.
    Practicals & Safety:
    - Many of the exercises you may want to have a private space, where you feel comfortable e.g. Being in nature, your own home or bedroom.
    - It's okay to make noise, yell and express as much as you like.
    - Look after your own safety, there's no need to go 100% force on the exercises. It's about the intention behind your movements.
    - Sometimes it's best not to eat anything heavy too soon before doing the exercises.
    - Drink lots of water after completing exercises.
    - If processes or situations come up, seek help from a mental health professional, or from your own support network.

    Hi! What do you say at 3:33? It goes like, “I’m sorry, but you might have…” the video got cut off there. I don't feel anger.

    Should this be done only when you’re angry? How about emotional release for past trauma that we may not be aware is harming us?

      most definitely! often just doing these exercises will already brings up deeply stored past emotions. You can use it almost to 'trigger' the emotion to come up

      Is it okay to do less than 10mn does it still works? 2 minutes is enough? Because it hurts my arms and back

      @@girlxoxo3477 yes any amount of time is good practise. Sometimes I just do 5 mins before bed of movement and whichever ways the body wants to express - shake, sound, breath, an exercise. The body’s intuition is enough to show you what wants to be felt 🙏🏻

    Where did you find this pillow. I keep searching on Amazon to get one for my school counseling office but I cannot seem to find a good style.

      this is a meditation pillow used in yoga - not so ideal actually as it's quite hard. Best bet is to double up normal bed pillows into one pillow case. So long as your hands dont hit the floor too hard :D

      yes definitely! any amount of time your body senses it needs, you can trust it's signals
