Man oh man what a find! I gotta say, I'm super excited and relieved to know you aren't going to chop up that beautiful Zephyr. Not a single straight line on the entire car. Just gorgeous, automotive design perfection.
It really is PERFECTION! 😎
This was my Uncles car, and I cannot overstate how much it means to me to see it in good hands. Followed and subbed. I can't wait to see it Roll!
That's cool you have a connection with it, and will be able to watch along.
This is also my uncles car, and I also can’t wait for Ian to completely ruin the integrity of this car and make it a piece of trash for years to come.
@@americanpatriot412 Bad news cupcake, your ''uncle'' never owned this Car, and he's also your Daddy.....
Dude I love your Chicken Popeye!
I’m so happy you can see and appreciate the beauty in the design of these cars. The four doors don’t have quite the swoopiness of the two doors, but they’re still beautiful in their own right.
Time to make it a coupe then
@@darrenbrisson4336á❤❤😢
Back in the 90's I knew where a original 37 couple was here, in Georgia. It's long gone now, the old guy must have finally sold it.
I've never seen a Lincoln Zephyr in my life in one piece and I know you guys have used a lot of Lincoln Zephyr Parts in the past it's neat to see you going to conserve and save those cars life good onya brother
@@gispel7058 In the UK there was Ford Zephyrs.
You are killing it Jamie with these videos ❤
Yes! ❤
I second that!👍😉
Thank you very much! I enjoy making them very very much! I plan on adding more to my videos with filming! ~ Jamie
Great find! Glad you’re not chopping it, can’t wait to see the progress!
Its cool you're honoring the original design by not cutting her up. She is beautiful the way she was built.
Store her away in a nice safe place away from the Mojave winds;)
We already had that discussion! 😂😂😂~ Jamie
Not cutting yet😂
This was built in an era when automobiles were true works of art! Absolutely beautiful!
When you said "no body mods, no chop" it made me very happy.
Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should.
Good call 😊
Needs its windshield laid back and a 6" chop W a Aston Martin v 12..
Ian, I'm so glad to hear you say you're not going to destroy it.
I don't like the other custom builders that say , cut it up.
I will enjoy watching you work on this project.
Rock on brother!
Grind away professor
Her inner beauty is in there somewhere
Chop chop chop
Go for it
Move ahead!
Four doors are not ever cool
Maybe on a pick up or SUV
But on a car ? I have never owned a four door and never will
WOM
Waste of Metal
NICE editing!
Thank you both for sharing this - very exciting.
1963 our neighborhood wrecking yard bought 20 Zephyrs. All us youngsters were HOT for the 4 speed transmission. Old man Seigel eventually parted out the entire fleet as no one wanted the cars or the V-12 flathead engines. Sad now...
They were a three speed ,but the gears were close ratio and fit into early V8 cases. I had a set in my '39 Ford and really helped a flattie wake up.
Holy Hell what a find! And you’re the perfect person to have found it!
Killer car. What a lucky find. It deserves the respect you're going to give it. Can't wait for the videos
I believe the part you thought might be a bumper filler is the panel the fits above the windshield on the inside to finish off the headliner. The sun visors mount to it too. It would be wrapped with the same material as the headliner is made from.
Ian I really like this Zephyr and you and Jamie and your channel, and where you live. I grew up on Edwards AFB. Summer of '67 rode my Yamaha 80 to Cal City and was paddle boat attendant. I am looking forward to seeing more of your videos especially showing your progress on this car. Thanks for sparking some really good memories. Blessings Blaine Halley
37 deluxe is my all time favorite from that era. Good find looking forward to watching you do your magic with it.
Awesome find. I restored a 37 Coupe and a 37 Sedan in both 1975-77. So many people favored the 32 34's but I loved the sweeping grill and in the fender headlights of the 37. ! 😎👍
WHAAAAAT????
The radical Roussel is NOT gonna chop it?
Well - now I’ve heard EVERYTHING 🤠😍
Karl at Make It Kustom would be happy for your find. He is working on a 1939 Zephyr. Thank you for saying you are not going to modify the body. Not everything needs to be chopped and modified like crazy especially one in as good shape as yours.
Nice shoutout for Karl at Make it Kustom👍
@@jdfmfb03 Check out the one SKOTYCHOPS done, Ian & Jamies friend.
You have great vision when it comes to antique and classic vehicles. Plus with your master metal fabrication and skils it's going to be a unique custom build. 👌🏼
Wow.Those grills and rear split windows are awesome! I have always loved them from a kid born in the 60's. Those old Lincoln's are absolutely awesome! Can't wait to see finished product. Great find Jamie and Ian . Keep up the great content and editing. I hope the shop formans are doing as well!
My wife and I have been watching your youtube videos with great interest. Love the contents and workmanship. We just now finished watching the arrival of the Zepher! So glad this car has fallen into the hands of an experienced car guy with vision and a hardy congratulation declaring YOU'RE NOT GOING TO CHOP IT!! I have nothing against custom work on these old gems and greatly admire the true craftspeople that have turned out exceptional cars. But when you have a rare diamond in the rough like this, at least take the time to work out a plan of attack before charging in with zip saws angle grinders. I've seen a few unfortunate hack jobs done in recent times to some rare cars that were in drivable condition that ended up pretty much a disaster. Of course its the buyer's prerogative to choose what he or she wants to do with their finds, but it is sad when so-called 'experts' dive into a project before the thing is hardly off the trailer only to get stumped at every turn by unforeseen headaches, at which time some of these disasters ultimately end up rusting away out on the 'back 40' somewhere. Good luck with this gem and do hope you will be able to locate those headlight lenses. Cheers.
Your going to have fun with this. Happy for you. You'll make the car proud
What a beautiful find!!! I'm glad to hear you say it's not ending up a chop job... don't need to mess with it😎👍
I haven't even watched the whole video yet but this thing is FREAKING AWESOME......
COOLEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN.....
What a SCORE 😮😮😮😮
Wow Ian, in the right hands, no truer words ever spoken.
Sweet ride. I can't wait to see how you fix it up. I am a long-time follower of your shows. Now that I am retired I have even more time to surf the internet to check out things I always wondered about.
Awesome! Welcome!
Back in the 1960's I owned a very nice 1937 Lincoln Zephyr, I drove it to college. It was the prettiest car I ever owned. Good luck to him. Sure hope that he doesn't cut it up. Ian will have a terrible time locating parts for that car.
Ian I have watched you from the beginning, you always said you weren't restoring kind of dude . As we get older certain finds especially one as complete as this and a what a beauty. Just build a good running gear, bag it and drive the crap out of it. Still want to say the best find you had was Jamie!
Yes he said it's not a full on restoration, it will be lowered etc.
Hey Ian and Jamie! I just forwarded this to my buddy Bob Logan who bought a gorgeous restored coupe December of 2022. He will love seeing this video! His black beauty will be part of the 1937-1941 Lincoln Zephyr display in Building 5 at the Grand National Roadster Show (GNRS) in early February. The car was at the Ventura Nationals. Hope to see you both again soon! Jerry:>)
Wow that's a great find, that's really cool, almost unbelievable to find a complete Zephyr
Still waiting on that!
No engine
No trans
No rearend
No fun
Not complete!
That is a awesome find looks like no trouble for you to stay busy can't wait to see it in the shop 👍👍👍
No chop,my vote also!!😊Love all the cars you have created and trucks.😁🥰👣
i completely agree, there are many cars that can be customized, this is a rare find.
This video in particular floored me! One of my personal favorites from way back! They had their styling on the money! Beautiful find! Small block Ford with an automatic on air ride & just cruise it!! Have you checked with Victor on his inventory? There's always Pomona, too! Can't wait to see how this goes!! Congrats!!👍
Glad you like it! We plan on visiting a swap meet soon!
Nice Find! The guys at Iron Trap Garage have a ton of parts from early Mercs and Fords. Looking forward to seeing this one get the Roussel touch!
I just can't wait for future instalments on this build.. Oh so very cool!!!.
Ian, I love the fact that you really just want to preserve it ❤❤❤
I'm an ozzi love your show . totally down to earth brother no props no modern gadgets. Old school ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Just what you need Ian ! Another project!!
What a find!! Will be looking forward to seeing you get started on the Zephyr project!
Ian I can see the excitement in you on this find, what a great car! Can wait for the start of the built 👍🎊
Wow that's awesome cool doors !
What a score Ian! CONGRATS!
The Lincoln Zepher has to be one of the most iconic cars ever great job saving this one I can't wait to see it road ready!
'I wouldn't be able to contain my enthusiasm'...brilliant.
AWESOME find! Oh the joy of living someplace fairly dry! I miss living in the Midwest when I lived in Illinois you used to occasionally find something not totally eaten up. BUT here in Florida its almost impossible to find original sheet metel cars
Victor is eating his heart out!
Nice find. Can't wait to see your plans for it
I’ve been following you for years now.
Love what you do.
This is a perfect car for you to far in love with original design yet have some freedom to customize. It’s cut just enough when you acquired it to have the liberty to have a blast making it unique.
Enjoy
Greetings from South Carolina... love this car! The door option is Limo/ Taxi version. My uncle Sal's neighbor had one in his backyard. We played driving in it when we were kids! Glad your not going to cut it up...but resto mod is Very cool idea!!! Your Right Ian... it's cool AS IS 😁👍✌️
Crap a couple years back I had a bunch of V12 39-41 Zephyr parts! George The Glassman
What a find. Such a kool car. It is cold in Vegas and Ian is walking around in a T shirt.
Such beautiful lines on the Zephyr. Can’t wait to watch it be transformed.
I will LOVE seeing this project!!! WOW!!! What a find!!! FABULOUS!!!
Zephyr’s come with a 12 cylinder? That would be too cool! Love the sound. You are a gift to us Ian, thank you for the awesome you do!
Beautiful score Ian... Even as is the car looks awesome... BTW: you may be correct. The mystery dash panels belong beneath the fixed dash structure (as suggested by the cut out in one of them which is obviously there to allow for the steering column to protrude...
Oh yeah, what a find, can't wait for this project to start, stunning looking cars with beautiful body lines.
For you, receiving a car in such good condition is like a blank canvas for a painter, you are the best Ian💪
Incredible find. They couldn’t have found a better buyer.
Absolutely!
Looks kind of like the bug with the rolls royce kit.
Nice looking car
2:52 nice!
You struck gold with that zephyr, Ian---I bet Victor is salivating over that car !!!
Congratulations that is beautiful. I can’t wait to see you bring it back around. And those lines are so incredible
Please don’t put a brand x, y, or z motor in this car. It deserves a nice FoMoCo engine.
Ford's Coyote engine it is then.
Thank you so much for not chopping this car up!!!
There are too many car guys that do the same chop to every car they get and they all look the same and often poorly done.
This car deserves to be saved for history and you should be it’s caretaker!
Can’t wait until you start the process!! Good luck Ian
Thanks Ian and Jamie. Love your channel. I do believe the shop inspector would approve. May he rest in piece.
Glad you're not going to chop or otherwise mess with the body. The back looks just like a VW Bug, which is cool!
Ian,what an incredible find ,this one will be something else in it's original form.
Wow...I'm looking forward to this one, Ian...Real desert treasure.
Ford late model straight 6 with 3 on tree. Thanks ,and happy new year
Great find Ian, Very good bones for sure, looking forward already to see the build. Cheers RICH.
Looks like fun. All panels welded to the chassis is a bit weird, and will be interesting to work on. It will be magnificent with the way it opens up on the right. Some came with a V12.
Wow, it is so great that you are going to resore that old Zephyr.
This is going to be a Trippy project love your plan thanks for the video now back to the video
Omg just heard you said no chop wow this is guna be a sick build look forward to this
What an absolute score! and who better to get it! Yeah, that’s one you can’t cut! Love the doors and skirts! You need Victor’s boys to slam the interior out! Stars in the headliner, Leather out! All the fixings! Your showpiece! Good stuff!!
WOW!! I'm so jealous! I have wanted one for over 50 years! When we moved to Montana, we stopped at a gas station in Beaver Utah. There was a 37 or 38 Zephyr for sale in a dirt lot adjacent to the station. It was a four door with the full drive train and interior. It didn't have the third side rear window, only the two side windows per side. They were asking a couple Hundred dollars! I tried to talk my dad into buying it but to no avail. I think the one you have might have been a limousine with the barn door style on the curb side. Very nice find guys.
I agree with you, this Zephyr should retain it's beauty and not be chopped. As always, Great Video!
Love the Zephyr because it has alot of character already.1 car that doesn't need to be slaughtered, chopped, shortened etc...greetings from sth Australia guys.🇦🇺👍🪃🦘🐪🤘
What a beauty! I would be tempted to graft the body to modern frame and drive train and make it a modern usable driver. The sound that hood opening made was classic👍👍
I love the two doors opening on one side !!! Great for camping !! A nice tent on that side & your ready to go !!!🙏 Be Safe !! This Local #28 tinnocker loves your style !!! 😮❤
endless possibilities!! woowho! GREAT FIND 😎😎
I can see why you love this car ian it's basically a big vw beetle in the back end..
Beautiful rig
Those Zephyrs are so cool! Thats gonna be a SWEET ride when you get her done! Love the grille and the teardrop headlights. Really sets it apart from rhe rest.
Congrats on the rare find. Cant wait for the build. So art deco.
That is the score of
ALL SCORES!!
I can’t wait to see what you do with this 😁
The passenger doors
Mod is Wild!!🔥
1937 Zephyr is my
Favorite year model…🇺🇸
Ian, I can't wait to see the finished product! Nice!😎
Can't wait to see this Zephyr project take flight. What an outstanding automobile. In your hands it will be spectacular...
Perfect ! Happy for you my friend!!!
You have GOT to find a V12 to stuff into that thing, Ian. They were not known for their high performance, but nothing a period supercharger couldn't fix. 😁
Excellent find ian stuff follows me home 2 just finds me 😊
Man oh man! This car is so good. Im'a gon'e be following this transformation for sure..
My favorite all time car is the 1937 Fords, especially the latest customized retro builds.JUST LOOK AT THE AERODYNAMICS, just 37 years after the same builders were still riding horse and building wagons and carriages.!!!
Can't wait to see the next steps. Thanks.
Too cool. Looking forward to watching you work on it.
I love what the guy did with his idea for a custon dash - the color and the pinstiping - looks like it was possibly crafted to fit around that early air system.
Ohhh yeah...this will be a cool build...I'll be here for it..goin to be fun..love the doors 😊..
That is so cool stoked for you brother what a score
Boy are you going to have fun.
What a gem!!!
I'm so happy you're not cutting it, it's a pure treasure as is ❤❤❤
Ian Wow Can not wait to see this project come together Good Luck
Ohhhhhhh man it’s friggin BOSS! WOWOW
Bring it back to life👍🏻👏🏻
Thank you, Ian, for saving wounded vintage automobiles and saving it from the liquid wrench.......
Historical preservation is far more important
Awsome, cant wait till the build starts.
Wow, that is amazing. That underdash A/C would look better in something '60's I think. The hood latch is wild!
