- Ian Roussel C Notches and Lowers A Rare 1937 Lincoln Zephyr 😎 Praise The Lowered! 🔥
Lowriders are a thing, especially in SoCal. Some might say they were born here. Ian bought a c notch kit from his friend @SKOTYCHOPS and is lowering this beautiful 1937 Lincoln Zephyr.
For some history on Lowriders....we had to make sure to give credit to Kenneth "Doc" Stewart.

Desert friends turn Ian and Jamie on to a find of a lifetime, A 1937 Lincoln Zephyr. In the kustom community, friends are EVERYTHING, as is sharing finds and resources so that we all can carry on the tradition and legacy of kustom culture. The kustom family has come through once again, and Ian and Jamie found themselves deep in the desert at an estate sale that was only invite only. This car could have went to the highest bidder, but instead went to The Roussel's to take loving care of it. Tune in to see what Ian and Jamie's plans are for this beautiful and rare car. The car has no cancer, no collisions, and most of the exterior pieces are included.

With spring in his step, the Zephyr's all set, for whatever 'Ole Ian will do. But don't ask Mister Roussel, he'll never tell - cause right now he still doesn't know. And Jamie is quiet, stuck to her filming like pollen sticks to a Bee. This sweet video, you know, was built from her heart, then pasted right on to our screens. Oh what a couple, a great team they make, as they share the joy of a life so complete... Thank you !
nice!
To quote Blazing Saddles; ''you use your tongue prettier than a $20 wh*#e.''
Do I hear a song in there? Campfire Ian
Nothing better than watching art being made.❤
Zephyr - A breath of fresh air.
I knew you couldn't stay away from that one very long. This car will be a show stopper. 🤟😃
master metal man and he sings too!😄
Today's forecast for the Roussel compound is 100% chance of sparks with a chance of scattered hurt feelings! Good to hear you mention Tom. He was my favorite guest on Full Custom Garage. Loved his cool green International. As usual, you two are killing it by just being real.
Love that 😎😎
Ian takes custom to a higher level.. you two are perfect for each other.....😁👍👍👍👍👍
Then slams it onto the ground, with a sweet set of wheels, and tricked out suspension. Lol peace
You to enjoy the time together. Great job posting a new project. Glad you are having fun. Thanks for sharing
Very Nice Start Ian and Jamie Coming along nicely
Yup, having a lift is a game changer! Excellent episode too ⚡️
I love the way you work Ian! Its an inspiration to an overthinker like me. I stop myself from progress by thinking too far ahead. Watching you continuously make big progress in a short timeframe helps stop the overthinking!!!
You always do it right , your greatest advantage is you do custom body work , and your a mechanic on suspension, engines, wiring and so much more
He's not REALLY an engine guy 😂
Excellent! I’ve got a 47 Continental V12 and a 48 “Zephir” with a 53 Merc flat head
Thanks for episode always a pleasure to watch!!🤟😎👌👽
Pink no , how about plum crazy purplethis one will be so badass thanks for sharing Stay safe out there
Exactly what I was thinking gotta be Purple!😊
Nope, Pink.
I thought Stan Jones and the Death Valley Rangers were good. Too bad they are gone. Carry on Professor Roussel!! Love the looks of this car. Too elegant to chop and so cool to drop. Fascinating.
Thanks for this.
That green Packard that Victor had Gene paint with the killer grille has been my favorite, so far! I've got a feeling this is gonna give that a run for it's money!! This is really a beautiful acquisition!!👍👍
Nice find. Have the body lightly blasted, hose it down, let it age and then a matte clearcoat or seven.
Talk about good bones to work with and that imprinted arrow is so cool. I’m confident you’ll make it a 1 of. The sky’s the limit should be a beauty👍👍
I love your new UFO intro ! This is better than the TV show because you have 100% control and your wife is involved, so you guys have a family business.
Ian has the Marty Robbins thing going on. Killer! 😉✌
Excellent guys cheers 🥂 😊
Ian beautiful work! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
I admire you greatly Ian. You da man: man.
Great tutorial for those not familiar with the C notch. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for sharing. Enjoyed the c-notch🛸👽👍
Most excellent 💥💯 Can't wait to see Ian's vision for this Zephyr.
I've been dying to see the zephyr on the build list. Thanks for making my Tuesday.
That was great to see so simple
Cool learning experience today 👍

Any Pachucos would love to have a car like the Zephyr and lower gotta fine the angle of the dangle wait , watch and listen thank you Sir
I'm finally coming across this channel?! Love Ian's work.. Mirrors my mind! Love your work Ian!
Welcome!
Awesome job!!
I like how your animations keep getting more and more complex and detailed. I noticed the welds in the intro recently and liked that a lot.
Nice to see that process up close and personal nice work thanks for the video
Great job on channeling the frame. Thank you for sharing your way of doing it and highlighting the parts made by Skotychops, those parts look first class.
…great fun all your stories and ideas
they seem endless
Just great‼️
enjoy all your fun
🪖
Great job Ian and Jamie. Loved the video.😊
That's really cool to watch you cut around the unibody. I wish I was that comfortable with the Sawzall and my car's panels. 😂😂😂 Thanks for another insightful video
Thanks for this video. A great tutorial for all us shade tree mechanics.

Anticipated to see the final product. Ian Git-n-it-Done!
Awesome content!!!!!
Good work, thanks for the video
Nice kit 👍
great kit!
Great start to this project.
when I was 16 ...63 years ago I had a 37 Ford Delivery Sedan I was fixing up. It had the wide 5 wheels ...which weren't cool then so I found hubs to put 15 in. Merc wheels on but the hubs would not fit the front axle so I got a 35 Ford axle from a junk yard (yes they had 35 Fords in junk yards back then) for the front. The 35 had bar activated mechanical breaks and the 37 had cable brakes so in my young mind I thought hell I will just loop the cables through the brackets the bars went in and clamp them off. Those were the world's worse brakes if you were going down a steep hill and came to a stop sign it slowed just enough to make a right turn and that was it. Anyway I am a big fan and I know you will make the Zephyr a very cool ride!
Nothing worse then hitting the brakes and thinking, it ain't going to be enough.
Nice work 👏👏👏
As always great video and having more than one car on the go keeps the entertainment going
Ian, those clamps you can't find are holding the shop roof together. 👀 @ 5:05 Love the show, thanks for teaching us knuckle heads how it's done.
VERY INFORMATIVE!👍
Another good one 👍👍
Your Videography and art departments are doing a great job supporting your writing and acting talent. Thanks, Joe F.
Thank you very much!
Soooo many projects!!
Looks good
Looking good.
SWEET!... Neat kit...
Just wanted to say that I love your work and you seem like a good dude .
That’s a really nice C-notch kit.
It’s cut fit and complete
I got friends in low places. Hahaha Nice ! 😎🇺🇸
Nice work.....
NO PAINT !
Can you PLEASE wrap the Zephyr in carbon fiber - it's so flowing it'd be AWESOME!!!
Love it
I’m so loving it! The mods underneath are perfect and necessary. This Zeph is going to be so sweet! I already know what color this car has to be!
Pink ?
@@65cj55 what I’m thinking is technically not a color.
@@jamesrankin9833 Tell Barbie...
So cool, still Zephyr!...
Hey Ian and Jamie! I have enjoyed watching all your builds/videos, but you are now building my dream car- a 4-door Lincoln Zephyr. Awesome! I know it will get covered up but you could cut out the bead-rolled strips from the portion you cut out and weld them to the C-clamp and the work would look original, like the factory made it that way. Dan from Oregon.
Good episode. Maybe weld inside top of frame rails before welding inner plates. Very clean looking inner fender that won’t be seen but that’s what it is all about.
I think Jamie has a great idea, are some awesome shades of hot rod pink!
At 73 years old .... forever a car nut ... though with few fabrication skills, Ian, your videos are (ignore the pun) riveting. I've so many other things to do than sit and watch a half hour or longer video, but I can't pass your up. It's like watching Leonardo Da Vinci, creating a masterpiece, only the tech wasn't there to be able to see each step of his creation .... thankfully .... the tech is available now to watch YOU a master of your craft. I humbly thank you.
Wow, thanks
I’m feeling thankful, as many don’t get to witness the birth of a bouncing baby low rider!!
Vatos Loco!!❤
Yes!!! 😎😎
It's going to be awesome
Nice !! Paul from Local #28 NY SMWIA ( now SMART) Retired !🙏👍😊♥️
Love cars that are customised and/or hotrodded.
I gotta say it took years for validation but in the early 70's I built a 37 Ford Coupe street rod and I could have done a prized 34 but liked the sleek looks of the front fenders, hood and flush headlights. Budget in mind it was basically had a high performance 289 from a Mustang w/4 speed. It looked great and a year later I found a 37 Ford Sedan and did that one as a family "grocery getter". Went with a 350 Chevy motor and auto transmission. Im really looking forward to the progress on your 37' ! 👍🏜️😎
Awesome
So cool..frim 20 plus years of sitting to being built by one of the best...i think its beyond cool....
Yes it made its way to the right people.
Years and years ago I used to watch the Mexican boys in So. California use steel pipe cut in half as a "C" notch. Always worked great. Fast and accurate. Cheap too.
Big Pipe like that would be expensive these days..
Big shout out to Jamie, I am so impressed by the sound quality, and how you reduced the noise level of the grinder. I love watching this channel and others like it, but will often fast forward sections due to the noise of the grinder. you have mastered getting the sound level right, enough to just hear the grinder without it being too intrusive. And Ians ok too I guess :P
Glad you enjoyed it!
Cool!
Thanks Ian for mentioning size of the welding wire you’re using learnt so much from you 😊
I have a friend that had a lowing shop in the in the late 70's - early 2000's was doing those C channels back then..
Metallic root beer would look awesome.
THE CRUSHER!!!
Mike Bello would say "You getting all locochon"!
Nice 👌
Living the dream...
Funny thing is c notches are also used on desert race trucks with full frames for more up travel!
I absolutely love the bug, but man I been waiting to see this one!
Ian, Jamie, I think the Zephyr will look fantastic in candy apple red over a gold base, giving it a dark red wine appearance. And go bold with some ghost scallops.
Can’t wait to see what you do with the Zephyr.
I can’t remember where you found this car, but I know they are very rare even in America. They make great hot rods out of them. I’ve seen a lot of them at Sema and some of them are absolutely incredible. Especially the two doors. You’ve got a nice bit of kit there. I’d love to see what you gonna do with it. Can’t wait. Blessings to you both from England.
It's awesomely quiet there in the desert. I used to live in Bishop
Cool fabrication work handy hoist makes work easier
