Brilliant Ian UK watching 🇬🇧 absolute master 🙏💪
Them parts are called a upper and lower A arms. Because it looks like a 😳👉 A
That was a better discussion to get a new and better cross member 😎👍
Hay the holes for the rack and pinion go to the back looking at the firewall . Right ?? I don't know how you're steering column will go ; and gear box placement will be .
I coud be wrong of course.
Like the show 👊😎👍
@@cryingdemocrats1460 Rack goes in front of the crossmember, or it will steer wrong.
The most enjoyable show / on UA-cam, such entertaining, creative work. Congratulations too both Ian and Jamie.
You're like the Bob Ross of car building/fab etc thank you Ian & Jamie. Can't get enough footage. Please more more more. 100 from Australia
I loved every minute of today's episode. You keep doing what you do. Don't let any body tell you how to be you. Great job.
Ian, your creativity is amazing!
Here for another great show. Thank you
Can't get me enough of the interaction between Jamie and Ian and his projects. What's he gonna do next. Amazing skills
I gotta say Ian is a magician I'm convinced.
Ian and Jamie thank you always fun to watch your Talent and your interaction with one another
Ian is just not the magician fabricator but he’s also a comedian. I just love his style and having Jamie on his side they become a great team. Retired from Pahrump Nevada
Mustang 2 suspension is a great system and has great adjustability and easy to align .
I love how Ian is inadvertently making the front low AF by mounting the frame rails that low in the crossmember. Since low is what he's shooting for, he'll appreciate it in the end. 😁
Between your math skills, imagination and a teetering pile of metal, you can’t lose. And Jamie will provide the proof. Loving it guys!
my experience with a mustang II suspension installation is to place a straight edge under the crossmember and lower control arms so that the lower control arms are parallel to the floor during installation
Love all the videos!
when Ian dumps out all the nuts and bolts searching for the right one it reminded me of doing that with legos as a kid.
Ian, use two spacers for the bottom controls arm to center the control am since you centered the top coil spring pocket bracket. Good luck on the steering rack. Bump steer is sometimes an issue with lowering Mustang 2.
enjoy watching Ian at that higher speed.
Thanks for the tips and tricks Ian. Thank you Jamie for the video.
Even though I'm not quite sure where you're headed, it's a fun ride.
Ian, you could eliminate the tire rubbing the fender wheels by only driving straight. lol. Your work is looking great 👍
I love these hour long videos. I wish you had more of them
That was a nerve -racking install Ian. You the man!
Absolutely enjoy listening to you both and how real down to earth you both are
Hi guys, ive done several mustang ii fronts. Two different manufacturers and both needed to have the hatts pitched. The pitch or angle front to back. Not saying keeping level is wrong.... i dont really know. Anyway thanks for another great video! Cheers
And the top hat needs to be back a bit from the spindle center for proper caster and camber alignment.
Weld temp brace from cross member to top hat top inside will still slide fore and aft for axle center line then put Temp bar from top of all thread to other all thread also front of top hat needs to be half inch higher than back helps in anti squat during braking
A ONE HOUR video😍
Longest one yet if I’m not mistaken
You’re right it’s coming together. Thanks for the content and more views of the desert as it blooms would be appreciated.
I really admire your level of patience. You don't say that it won't work, you say, "Let's try it again."
I love how you all work together
I really enjoy the longer video. Thanks
how awesome is how that new part fit in the old frame Rails so great!
This Zephyr is really going to kick ass!! Love this build!!👍
That barrel brush works amazing for stripping paint.👌
Be sure that the top hat is positioned front to back relative to the lower control arm to give you the right caster.
Funniest part is Ian searching for measuring tape when camera catches it in the corner of the frame on the cars fender! Priceless! Also kudos for great music choices. Lately the themes remind me of 60’s TV show music.
😂 Thank you on the music...I enjoy picking it out and getting Ian's input on my choices. We like to have fun with it ~ Jamie
Too much math to be mathin', LOL. Ian you rock, and Jamie you're fantastic also.
A V8 beetle is a must do now that you planted the idea in our heads !
Awesome guys learning alot thank you
Good Clean American Fun,Thanks!
It's starting to come together Ian, i like watching work. You do things just like I would. I hope you get to number of subscribers you need soon, if I could subscribe again I would.
Ian you are absolutely amazing probably the best car fabricator on the internet and definitely the best well spoken and easy to understand what you are doing by your talking about it as you proceed through the fabrication process.
Glad ya went with a wider crossmember. 👍
Really coming together now, great job mocking up that front end.
So good! Major progress, amazing what you do by yourself! Good stuff!
Looking good can’t wait to see it a roller coaster
That's awesome Ian, you're like a mad scientist. Lol😂😂😂❤
Love his projects and I know he's a master builder. My suggestion is 10-20 minute vids. One hour is a bit too much. Keep up the great work.
even when you do no welding, I learn something every episode😊
You sir are a master craftsman. Totally awesome… Thanks. 😮 😊 😮 😊
Nice changes on front end always good to learn tricks thank for the ideas thank you Both TCOMITY
Great video and videography as always.
I like the hour long format.there wasn’t any part of it that was boring.there never is in any of the videos.
Please keep the videos coming
You can tell Ian always has safe and healthty at the forefront of everything he does. By the way, just for anyone thinking about doing odd things, I filled an aerosol with jenolite rust converter recently and it had some sort of reaction with the propellant and it exploded on the bench 😮, acid everywhere, thankfully not on me. Don't try this at home folks lol.
I opened a 4lt can of brush on rust converter once that had been sitting in the hot car, the lid smacked me in the face but also shielded my face from the contents... the rest of my head and my neck etc, copped it all and it burnt like hell.
@65cj55 you have to be careful with hazardous stuff eh.
@@scottishcontentcreators Sure do, i think being in a rush causes a lot of accidents etc.
Another great video, Ian. Love watching the hard work paying off. Keep up the good work.
Almost to 100k subscribers!😎
Zephyr guna look super cool when finished just like IAN'S other builds
Love watching you set up the front suspension time taken here is well spent not sure what the caster and camber of the car is but with some adjustment you should be able to get it exactly right
Love seeing the entire process, here on yt.
Your builds that they show on tv in one program, must take months,or more.
Months and months with help off screen when it was allowed…still wasn’t enough time to fully develop an idea… ~ Jamie
Another great episode!
Beautiful view
It's amazing hey, like a oil painting sometimes..
Really enjoyed this episode on the mustang 2 cross member. I have been thinking of changing the one on my 33 Chevy sedan from the strut to a no strut cross member, but I have never done one.
BTW>>>>> love the ( MOCK UP ) notification.... LOL
I’m glad to see you got the right parts and didn’t try to bodge the free one.the zephyr is a special ride and deserves the best
I just love the way your brain works 👍👍
Making stuff work out of nothing or old used parts is what I love about your show. The creativity of making something work that people say shouldn't work good job love you what y'all do.
Great video creative fun entertaining with being informative what a joy to watch
You have skills that will work great stay safe
Hi My Dear Friend Very Good Job ❤❤❤❤❤
cool long show. it was a nice day in west port today. little cloudy now.7 pm.
Really enjoyed the process and the figuring today!
The spacer on the lower arm allows for more Caster adjustment .
great frontend kit some asembly requared keep up the good work ian
I have really enjoyed all your shows. I check youtube each day for updates. One think that I would like to offer is years ago I was like Ian and had my nuts, bolts, washers in a pile. I took the time one day to make wooden boxes on draw slides, labeled them, separated them and put them in an old cabinet on the wall. Pull out the box you need, you should find what you are looking for much quicker. I also have some old cricket plastic sheets that I pour them out on and then all I have to do is pick up the sheet and pour them back in the boxes. Just a thought. Really enjoy the way you make decisions on the fly and not have to follow some pre drawn project.
I learn a lot about this watching him doing this thanks ian
Great fabrication video, the Zephyr is going to be a great car, rusty body, rusty parts
It’s Totally Rad watching Ian at work, but can Jamie do another desert tour please. The yellow flowers have me intrigued.
Not only do I get to watch Ian work, Jamie injected a moment to enjoy the flowers! I can't remember ever stopping during an engine swap doing that! I think I'll add that move to the work flow, thanks Jamie! 😃
Awesome as always 👏 a whole hour with you two ❤ the zephyr #1 FAN of this channel my last build was a 29 model A with my Uncle we built are own chassis chopped and channel it thanks for video 👊👽👍
Love your work, get a crown Vic frontend
Ian i know i have a lot of comments but the importate one is the top hat tilting to the front for antidive.the new ones you have are level.i place a 2x6 under crossmember with a short one under crossmember aprox 2 ft and another longer out to ball joints giving lower arms slightly lower than level for proper ride height.i have installed over20 ov these susp.in hot rods and fixed over 10 that were not installed properly.im no know it all but have exp.if you want to stop straight under hard braking include the anti dive into install
Certainly a lot of head scratching and mock up work for the new front suspension set up, but it's coming together really well 👌 👍
Love the music in the background Good job Jamie!
Thank you! I really enjoy picking out music...I listen to music more than I watch TV ...music is my heart. ~ Jamie
from the comfort of my own home, and with the benefit of hindsight... I'd tack a brace between the 2 top mounts, then use ratchet straps between this brace and the crossmember to 'clamp' the assembly to the chassis rails :)
Nice full hour of Ian, & Custom Fab! Nice job Jamie-Camera & Edit, and by the way, Jamie don't forget to look under the picnic table and the bench seat if you ever sit on one because I had Black Widow crawl out from under the picnic table once, and that was pretty. Shocking! Been watching Ian 4 many years, on that other show.
Very nice work Ian and good job on the video Jamie Coming along nicely
Nothing pumps me up like watching the master at work... You Guys are AMAZINGLY INCREDIBLE at what you do... there's nothing else that even comes close...
Nice production
What you drew on the floor is just what we did to my 50 Dodge p/u. I put a mustang 2 front clip in and I bought it from Speedway. Motors and the kit was for a Chevy p/u 51 to 53. The frame rails on my Dodge were much wider. than the Mustang, but we got it to fit like a glove.
Fatman Fabrications makes kits for most all of these old cars, no universal kits. Follow the directions and you will get good results. Call them if you have any questions, good tech support. They are by far the best MIi kits available in my opinion.
Nice Work. Master Class.
It looks really good.
Thank you. I had a lot of fun watching little confusing but I don't build cars.
You’ve done it again Ian. You still blow my mind even to this day. The one thing I cannot get over on that Zephyr is how great that front grill is. It is amazing how straight everything is on that. I’m dying to see what you do with her same as the bug. I think both of those are turning into my favourites. Please keep up the great work that you do and your channel. Please take care of yourself and blessings to you and Mrs Ian(and shadow of course) from England.
As a metal worker one of most valuable toil was a turn buckle makes squareing frames ect so precise and east
Great video! I hate it when I see a Street rod at a show, that can't turn! A 3 point turn into something much greater. That was a very informative video! I have to get a marker holder now!
It's a lot easier to tell after the video, but might still be useful, tack a piece of metal across from tophat to tophat, and use C clamps to the frame, i think i would use longer frame pieces, so i could go way back and attach to something strong in the car, and forward to strengthen the body, maybe triangulate with a pipe, or something, to the A pillar
Great fabrication work! Brilliant outcome! The Zephyr is getting closer to completion!
You may have to Z the frame rails in front to get adequate crossmember ground clearance, also with the wheel offset you probably have minimal turning radius. Also to get over 100K and more subscribers reach out to fellow motortrender Derek Bieri (Vice Grip Garage) for some type of collaboration a shout out on his channel will get you many more subscribers. Also consider attending the Zip Tie Drags in Tuscon to make contact with other you tubers for some cross pollination of subscribers. It took many of them years to reach 100K, congrats on the quick growth of your channel.
The rack is a sweet they used in oval track stock cars .
❤great video folks have a great week 😁🔥
My favorite saying "Boy do I have a great idea for you "
Just don't let the knuckle heads get to ya.
@fullcustomIan Two quotes of yours that have helped me through projects (even house related projects): "It's metal, it wants to be told what to do" and "...but I'm not scared, I have a [tool needed for job]" - thank you for instilling confidence, and for the great content here on UA-cam! Appreciate the hours you and Jamie are putting in 💯
Thank you! Appreciate that! ~ Jamie
Do not disturb, genius at work! 👍😎
Excellent problem solving…
Oh I saw your other tape measure. BUT Jamie said it as I was writing this. If someone comes up with a gps for your important tools, you would go bonkers
