GREAT TRUCK!!! I have a 1991 toyota hilux 2.2 petrol 4x4 bought it in 2009 130k now has 982,000 km driven it every day since i bought it from an old man farmer bulletproof!!!!!!!!! best truck i have owned with just regular maintenance and never had a problem...
Awesome truck! Toyota needs to bring back the small pickups! Looking forward to seeing part 2. A 5vzfe 3.4 swap would be your best bet when that 3.0 blows up eventually.
This past Christmas (2022) my Father -In - Law gave me his 1992 ToyotaSr5 / 4 wheel drive Truck… 3.0 V6… I’ve changed all gear oils …new filter and oil change..drivers side axle…Aiden timing belt and accessories…Red Antifreeze…New battery and clamps…shocks all around….replaced bolts/ valve cover gaskets…air conditioning next…119,788 miles… Interior Excellant …could use a paint job…Good Luck with yours
Great Find! I had a 93 like this but white with 6 inch lift on 33s. Loved it. I like the big paint brush for hitting hard to reach area's. I going to definitely try that. Oh yeah I got a foam cannon and love jt!
Thank you. It cleaned up nicely! Im thinking of making a video on it as well as another vehicle of mine that i hemi swapped but just got to figure out the topic for those videos!
Had one of these with the same 3.0. The usual thing happened to the engine at 276,000 and sold it. Wish iuhad kept it and swapped in another motor, and put a locking diff in it...
You can always try some ceramic coating on plastics. I know on black plastics and rubbers it makes them look new. I would assume it should help gray ones just the same.
Nice find! Make sure to be easy on that 3VZ and not let it overheat. The heads tend to crack over time on them. Not as reliable as the 22RE, but still a fine motor. Love the 5th gens! Also, to protect the dash, use 303. That stuff works wonders and leaves it looking new.
I've heard they are not as reliable as the 22re but its going to be gone through on the next video and getting a bunch of parts to make it ready for the road!! Especially the cooling system!
Great video! I’d save the speakers, kinda goes with the era of the truck. Any shop vac from Home Depot or Lowe’s would probably work better for ya than the vac you have. You have an awesome little truck. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! The speakers are definitely staying with the truck it fits the era like you said and i did recently get a shop vac so no more using that vacuum lol
I might of missed it...what year is it, I own a 1995, Ive driven it for 25 years, still runs great, 260,000, purrs like a kitten. Its a very low vin first tacoma ever built. othe then needing a paint job, which is going to happen soon, its im perfect shape, florida truck, no rust, 5 speed.
I have the same engine (1994 Toyota pickup V6 3.0/3VZE), and I'm getting a code 24 and code 31...rough idle, rich running, hesitation sometimes when i press on the gas pedal, check engine light on, and occasional backfire when first starting (cold). The truck came with an EGR delete set up, as well as a cold air intake simplification mod when I bought it. If you (or anyone) could offer some guidance, I am by myself and really need help. Thanks!

What type of engine do you have, must be 4Y ,l own one of those for 35 years and runs good as new
@@alexisgerasimosalexis3759 it's a YN110
Cool video. I have a 1986 toyota 4runner sr5 and I put poppy’s patina gloss on it. It brought my dull/faded 4runner back to life!

Yes i agree!! Thank you!
Good looking frame!! Sold mine last year because the frame was rotting away have a 2013 now and love it! TACOMA WORLD BABY
I loved my 1980 Toyota 4×4 had the slow 20R engine but still loved it.

Sounds like a fun project!!
Looking forward to more videos.👍🏼
There goes a vehicle I would love to have. Those babies are collector's items.
Very good truck 👍
Looks so much better, especially the interior.
I had those same speakers in my 89 4x4 xtra-cab. 👍🏽
303 automotive protectant should help revive that plastic a lot and is available at most major retail stores and parts stores!
The SR5 speaker boxes that mount on the dash, are a nice upgrade for the audio.
Thats such a gem !

Thats cool. The brush definitely makes short work of those hard to reach areas!! And the foam cannon is a game changer!
Nice truck
Nice truck. Coming out nice and clean. Looking out for next video. Would love to hear about the MK3 hiding in the garage.

If you’re investing any kind of money in that engine I, and most people, would recommend you engine swap it, 22re or 3.4…
Great job brother ,I enjoyed the video very much .I have a 96 Tacoma in my garage, love it. Keep up the good work. 🤠🇺🇸
Thank you!
try aerospace 303 dash protectant for getting the dash back works wonders can be used on any faded plastic pieces even on the engine bay stuff
Im definitely going to try that!!
The Holy Grail would be a 1985 Toyota. Last year of solid front axle and first year of 22RE.
Find a product called 303 for the dry plastic. Makes em look like ,like new. Exterior too like the mirrors and bumper trim etc.
Ill have to look for it thats good to know!!
One view and comment from Pakistan 😅❤️

It is a 93. Thats cool to hear!!
Nice video. Did u do a part 2?
Currently working on it!! Doing my best to get it out soon!
Is that what i think it is parked in the garage?
In CA, that truck would bring $12k Easy.
What state are you in that you find Toyotas that rust free?
South Carolina
Get super clean degreaser. Much respect. Nice truck.
Good to know! Ill have to try it! Thank you

With those codes it seems to point to the afm sensor.
Six cylinder and regular cab is rare.
HEY ANYONE SPOT A TOYO 85 BOX AUTO LET US KNOW. LOOKING FOR SMALL ONE TO DELIVERY WHEELCHAIRS AND SCOOTERS TO DISABLED.
I used to own one of these trucks. They’re some of the best trucks ever made. Small and durable. How much are you selling it for?
That is cool! Not sure yet!
How much you want for your toyota pickup
I regret every day that I sold my 1994 22re 5spd extended cab. For the past 11+ years.
How much are you asking for?
Not sure yet, i will probably think of a number when it gets closer to being done!
@@reds_rebuilds What State do you live in? What yr and how many miles on this old beast?
And the 2 part dudde
where is part 2 ?
Still in the works but coming soon!
Restoring= washing and cleaning ?
Part1
Great restoration effort! Can’t wait for more content!
Why is every old Toyota iconic these days? Sometimes it’s just an old truck man…
Probably because they are all a workhorse. Indestructible and reliable as hell.
No don't repaint just clear it for a patina original look
Hey thats something to think about!
What's iconic about it? Pretty bog standard RN
people in the states go crazy for these trucks for some reason.
Sorry, but can barely hear you, so cant watch.
Working on a mic solution for part 2 so there wont be that issue
1:50 Classic sh*tty exhaust work lol, someone's "cousin could do it cheaper" probably
Yeah exactly! haha
Bigger brush mate
